Wouldn't Jace be going black and never going back?

Also, is this budget? If not, why not 4 Watery Grave ?
August 2, 2013 12:54 p.m.
this is indeed budget, but I plan on throwing them in if I happen to get them.

this is a really airtight deck, lol. i think about it and i laugh. alot of decks try to go with many things that go with there idea... you went with short and simple mill. i would try Liliana of the Veil so you can mill them and take there creatures out of the graveyard. or maybe a few Crypt Incursion instead so you have life covered.

sorry, wrong lili version... i meant Liliana Vess for adding a reanimate affect to your mill.
August 5, 2013 3:31 p.m.
@firewaterearth
I've definitely considered Crypt Incursion just because I mostly lose to quick aggro. And instead of Liliana Vess , maybe Rise of the Dark Realms for convenience and to keep it standard longer.

i am a casual player, you have to forgive me if i suggest something that is not standard legal. but Rise of the Dark Realms will be a great addition next to Crypt Incursion

@ firewaterearth its legal. To op hows does lily fair in here she really is a mono black deck card but if she works that's awesome.
August 8, 2013 1:35 p.m.
@ Cyber Locc She's nice for grabbing me a couple extra swamps to strength a Mind Grind, she's sometimes used as emergency removal, and with her emblem, a mind grind is almost guaranteed to win the game.

ya I can see that just for her to hit her full potential swamps are ideal but the shocks are swamps remember that.
August 8, 2013 2:26 p.m.
True. I'll definitely be seizing any opportunity to get the Shocks but it's not a priority.
August 8, 2013 2:30 p.m.
you should add some dual land. Fog Bank would be a nice upgrade.
August 9, 2013 1:12 p.m.
charko, I'm trying to make it stay completely intact for rotation or it would definitely by Fog Bank instead of Murmuring Phantasm . Same as the dual lands. Watery Grave will go in if I find some.
August 9, 2013 1:18 p.m.
Have you considered replacing your Murmuring Phantasm with Wight of Precinct Six ?
August 10, 2013 5:21 p.m.
NAHawk, I have not. That is definitely something worth testing..

Depending on the strength of your aberration, a Rogue's Passage or 2 might help you swing late game for big damage, allowing you to utilize the big power he could potentially get from Traumatize , not to mention from his ability being triggered.
August 15, 2013 1:27 p.m.
I actually meant to do that, but had forgotten. Thanks for reminding me.
August 17, 2013 12:49 p.m.
"If I ever hit Liliana's ultimate, this leads to a huuuge Mind Grind" what do you mean you don't have liliana in this deck
August 17, 2013 11:52 p.m.
Have you thought about replacing Murmuring Phantasm with Wall of Frost ? I know it cost one more and thus may not be a good fit but I personally enjoy the walls ability to slow down the opponent.
August 20, 2013 12:25 p.m.
@Dorkstinn I've considered it along with Hover Barrier . I think it's worth testing.

I like it, but I do think it needs a little heavier attack power like Rogue's Passage and Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker . Take a look at mine if you want and let me know what you think... Master of Manipulation
August 20, 2013 12:35 p.m.
Here's what I think:
-2 Traumatize , -3 Negate , -1 Doom Blade , -1 Consuming Aberration , -1 Murmuring Phantasm
+2 Duskmantle Guildmage (works wonders with Jace, Memory Adept dealing 20 damage in two turns for only 3 mana a turn)
+3 Dimir Charm (better then Negate )

Nice deck! I personally don't care for Traumatize as there are so many other cheap mill spells in standard right now such as Breaking / Entering , Mind Sculpt , or Tome Scour . Check out my deck Return to Handnica as a way to really get Consuming Aberration going.
