I like the idea I also run a Human deck, but I use red white. My only add in to this is that you have 3 Citadel Siege and by turn 4 you have more win condition. if you run into alot of removal I would also suggest Angelic Overseer.

JuhnZeiFox Glad you like it! I definitly like Citadel Seige for the difficult removal of it, thanks for the idea!

What a great deck! I like the Bolster mechanic. I run with with a full set of Citadel Sieges and also try to incorporate Dragonscale General using a things like Gideon's Lawkeeper to help his Bolster kick in more often; too bad he has a cmc of 4 though. I am a little concerned with your spot removal though; I had a dude really ruin my day with Archfiend of Depravity and Xathrid Gorgon.

Thanks codpieceofjustice, what do you suggest I do for the fear of removal? I sideboarded Champion of Lambholt and mainboarded Angelic Overseer.

Well as a quick response I would say just stock Path to Exiles and zap the threatening SOBs.

Also I agree with you switching the Champion for the Overseer; I have both cards and find the GG too difficult to reliable get.

Sorry for the boring response but 3 days ago I picked up MTG after almost a10-month hiatus and am out of the loop so to speak.

Stumbled back upon this deck again. It's looking good with some excellent dynamics.

so I went around for awhile looking for good humans. as that is what I like to theme my decks around. I found a green creature that can be good if you have to fight heavy burns or people with some counters spells. Isao, Enlightened Bushi I don't think your deck needs this card but rather should have in a side board in-case you need a none counter-able creature to get angelic overseer on the field. other lands that you may like Fortified Village. if you run into strong none indestructible Reprisal. for that cheap but broken creature Silkwrap for that tough creature Suspension Field. I really hope you make the humans proud.

Dude just from looking at it, it seems like Mikaeus, the Lunarch is a really good card for this deck maybe have more of him? A good early play and a good late play. Thought about Nissa, Voice of Zendikar? Sometimes just playing her and insta minusing can be great.

June 28, 2016 10:59 p.m.

I agree with you DanLane regarding Mikaeus, the Lunarch, but what would Tots drop to add another? A quick glance at the deck makes me think Thalia's Lieutenant could go down to a 3-drop. Thoughts?

Also, Angelic Overseer is GREAT and I can see why it's included (I usually run a couple myself), but it compromises the Human-theme. Perhaps it could be sideboarded until needed. Controversial I know but it's just a thought. If you're going to include Angels/etc then maybe you could consider Angel of Glory's Rise too, as expensive as it is.

Speaking of the Sideboard, Ghostly Prison is good but costs $. The cheaper Norn's Annex or even Lightmine Field might be useful against hordes/swarms etc.

Well the way I see it Champion of the Parish is just the exact same as Thalia's Lieutenant but without the other half of the ability. Maybe drop 1-2 of those and like 1 of something else to add 2-3 of Mikaeus, the Lunarch. I like just pruning one of each thing and just re-test, re-test, re-test.

I even almost feel like Servant of the Scale is better than Champion of the Parish just because he gives his counters away. Its a preference thing I guess, I used to play a deck that had 4-of Servant of the Scale and I always felt good getting it out t1. At least if it gets insta removed it can maybe hand it's counters off. Like maybe you can even have 4 of one in the mainboard, then like sideboard 4 of the other, and if its longer games and you can grow Champion then go with the Champion, if your shit is getting snapped off the board quick go servant.

Also, I'm looking at Daghatar the Adamant and I'm thinking....pay 4 mana to cast him and then pay 3 mana to move one counter? That's a pretty heavy investment When Citadel Siege has the same mana cost and potentially gets you 2 free counters on something EVERY UPKEEP and it doesn't cost you 3 mana to activate. Honestly I feel like is way too expensive for what he's doing for you, and you have waaay better options just out of the cards you have in this deck already.

You can take him out and make room for Inspiring Call. Or something else, but the first time you draw like 5 cards off Inspiring Call you'll know.

Even just taking those out and going up to 4-of servant could make you soooo aggro.....

t1 Champion

t2, Hardened scales, servant, Champion becomes a 3/3

t3, more servants or champions... 5/5 champion already or more?

Here's my all in on this and then I'll stfu. Travel Preparations is a bit redundant, you can get the same effect out of Mikaeus, the Lunarch by paying one more mana, but you also get a human entering the battlefield trigger out of him. Also, if you're going wide at the time Mikaeus, the Lunarch for 3 mana is potentially a Support 3+ for two turns in a row, which is WAAAAY more value than Travel Preparations ever will be. Cut both Travel Preparations, for one more Mikaeus, the Lunarch and then one more Servant of the Scale (up to 3.)

Then get rid of Daghatar the Adamant and get the other 2 Inspiring Call. You will LOVE that card draw, especially since as far as I can see your deck has no other method of getting any card advantage. Also with these changes you should be a little more consistent.

Try to get up to 4 servants somehow, however you see best.... I just feel like this deck wants that soo bad.

Maybe minus one Nissa's Judgment? Do you really want to potentially draw 2 or 3 of those in your opening hand?

June 29, 2016 1:13 a.m.

JuhnZeiFox says... #19

DanLane you are right that Servant of the Scale is a good card, but if you get a draw with all those humans and just Servant of the Scale. Then you don't get a big creature just from summoning those humans.Yes angelic overseer is more money, but it is a cheaper angel that can't be targeted by any normal means. Even Day of Judgment doesn't kill it while you have a human on the field as it was indestructible during the activation causing you to keep a 5/3 angel on the field that will then regain hexproof and indestructible once you summon a cheap human for one mana. now I would drop Daghatar the Adamant down to one and bump Mikaeus, the Lunarch up to two. if you need to add a spell drop both abzans down to 3 leting you put 2 of any other spell in your deck.

Eh maybe sideboard the Travel Preperations because I suppose Mikaeus can die to removal before you get to tap him, so thats kind of iffy but all the same.

I've found that while play testing this deck so far you run into mana problems. so defiantly add 2 more mana of multicolored land. also Dan my bad misread what you were saying with the angels, but I still feel that having a 7 mana card is abit to slow and costly. especially against something like Day of Judgment.

June 29, 2016 1:36 a.m.

JuhnZeiFox says... #25

so its agreed then that Nissa's Judgment is really costly. as well as Daghatar the Adamant. it wouldn't be as bad if you were running something like Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. my best suggestion would be some what in line with Dan as you remove one Daghatar. remove one nissa's judgement. and then remove one from both Abzan Battle Priest / Abzan Falconer. then adding one to Mikaeus, the Lunarch. two lands Canopy Vista. and one to Servant of the Scale.
