So this is mostly just to abuse Mirror Mockery before it rotates out. I had the idea of using it with Reflector Mage, but thought "Why stop there?"
One decklist I saw abused Faerie Miscreant so I decided to borrow that, because that's actually really interesting sounding. It's not tho. If you'd like to make it work, go ahead, but my meta is super creature heavy so I want the bounce. Sidisi's Faithful > Faerie Miscreant
Alright this deck runs more like a "Get Ojutai out and win" kind of deck. I was hoping to focus more on Mirror Mockery, but the combos I have with that card basically just swing the tempo in my favor, not win the game.
Cards of Note:
Sidisi's Faithful - Works like Reflector Mage. Slap a Mirror Mockery on it and bounce stuff every turn.
Faerie Miscreant - is a pretty good target in theory. I've been underwhelmed playtesting within my playgroup tbh. It's not going into the main until it's proven that it's not complete garbage.
Reflector Mage - how mean would it be to drop him and follow it up with a next turn Mirror Mockery swing? It's mean. I promise.
Whirler Rogue - I had thought about it, but I never really realized that it's a stinkin win-con with a mirror attached. Make itself unblockable the next turn for more tokens.
Dragonlord Ojutai - is obviously a win-con, he's been great since he was printed. Easily one of my favorite control finishers ever.
Rise from the Tides - For boardwipes. If it hits late game it's alright I guess.
FNM had me not use this card once. I never wanted it, I never had to use it to fill the board. The fact is, tokens it brings out come in tapped. That's a no-no. I honestly don't even want it in the side.
Sideboard:
Against control, I basically turn the deck into U/B Dragons Control. Pop in the Icefall Regents, Silumgar's Scorns, extra copies of Rise from the Tides, and the single Dragonlord's Prerogative. Basically controlly goodness.
and against aggro, I have aggro-themed controlly goodness i.e. Engulf the Shore and probably Horribly Awry followed by however many Rise from the Tides you think you'll need.
Icefall Regent also could come in mainboard, because it's tap down ability is pretty relevant and pairs alright with Mirror Mockery.
Additional Thoughts
I sort of want to add in a 2-drop for the board.
I'm leaning towards Elusive Spellfist or Erdwal Illuminator. I can't decide, I think maybe ellusive-spellfist because his ability is actually relevant, BUT Erdwal Illuminator has flying. Very good thing to have. That's just extra, I'll fine tune what this deck needs once I playtest it.
Any thoughts on what the deck needs, how it runs, how good/shitty it looks, etc are appreciated :)
P.S.
I am also making an extra budget version with the same ideas since Dragonlord Ojutai is stupid and expensive. And since Haven of the Spirit Dragon, Harbinger of the Tides and Reflector Mage are semi expensive.
