Awwww... no Hunted Horror+Thing in the Ice  Flip? Probably for the troll and one of your aristocrats. You are running a healthy amount of Instants and Sorceries for TITI.

Love the idea, I've always wanted to see a hunted deck.

The deck functions by giving them large volumes of creature that have a toughness of 1 so they can be easily removed, the combo you mentioned if fun but all together lacks the volume I'm looking for at the power level I'm looking for which is why I chose not to run it. Also Thing in the Ice  Flip is highly disruptive to my own creature set up which is a core proponent of this deck build.

Declaration in Stone would be perfect to remove the tokens you give the opponent, all without even letting them investigate.

It's nice but in general my variant to that card would be Maelstrom Pulse as for only 1 more mana I can target any real threat which is often worth the additional cost. Overall though I have not had many issues clearing the creatures I give my opponents, my largest threats are decks that kill my creature set up or that heavily control me.

Bile Blight is another option.

I have a Sultai Build with Hunted guys.

You'd need Hunted Horror because it's so powerful! He's the best on of the Hunted creatures.

WithTorpor Orb to prevent Hunted triggers and Muddle the Mixture to tutor for both Orb and Horror you're good to go.

Echoing Truth is a good card for the tokens too. Since you play white, Detention Sphere is a great option to consider.

I had a similar idea for a deck like this but you've improved upon it! Good work! Maybe consider Swan Song?

Oh duh it's in your sideboard nvm

@frusciante7, the reason why Torpor Orb would actually be bad for this deck is because it capitalizes on the etb effects Hunted creatures bring. I do agree that Hunted Horror is an amazingly powerful card, and it's an absolute beast in decks running the orb, but that's not what this one is about.

For this build, I believe Hunted Phantasm is actually the best Hunted card available, and a Torpor Orb would just work against its goal. I have a feeling that would be one of the reasons why Hurkyl's Recall is in the SB.

Herpaderp.. or there's Abrupt Decay to deal with the orb and misc.; the Recall is obviously for affinity and the like. I shouldn't post after long days at work, it doesn't work out well for me.

Anyways, great deck dude. +1

I've piloted a similar deck before, so I know my way around it a bit. How has Blood Seeker been working for you? I used to run him, but found him slower than I liked. I found Soul's Attendant/Soul Warden better in my opinion; loved being more likely to play something first turn and found the life gain more valuable. Of course I also ran a slower version of the deck with more control and less beaty creatures (ran Ghostly Prison and no Hunted Trolls for instance), so it could just be differences in the decks' playstyles. :)

I've thought about it and you are correct that a soul sister would be more reasonable in the deck over Blood Seeker as it should help my matchup my match ups against aggro with minimal draw back.

small thing here, but Blood Artist can be replaced with Zulaport Cutthroat, as ZC has some power, whereas the other does not

nevermind I'm dumb

Have you played with this deck at any events? like FNM or Grand Prix? If so, what were the results?

This deck is not particularly competitive in a sense that it could make it to the upper tiers of play (however with the removal of modern from most upper competitive levels only FNMs really matter. In general this deck loses to hyper aggro build centered on non-token creature, burn or heavy creature removal/disruption so my experiences at the past few FNMs where expectable in that I would often run well until I faced an outline threat which would usually result in a loss of game one, and the winner based on whose sideboard worked out better over the next couple games.

May 26, 2016 2:30 p.m.

Have you considered adding pillow fort strategies into your sideboard for aggro? Maybe consider Ghostly Prison or Ensnaring Bridge? I don't know how well that would work, but I can't imagine it doing too terrible

ArchFline says... #19

From what I've play tested useing proxies a pillow fort strategy fortifies my defense vs aggro mildly but weakens my core functionality vs heavy removal comps (also they end up as dead cards vs non creature based builds)

What about Leyline of Singularity? could be funny letting your opponent lose life and the tokens :P

It would be fun but often enough my deck ends up being the one hurt by that card as I run multiples of many creatures that I strive to keep on the battlefield for their effects.

Hunted Troll and Phantasm are really cool! Obviously list is not super competitive. However.. a couple quick suggestions:Mercy Killing looks maybe too cute when you could play Path to Exile instead. Also, Hunted Troll looks like he wants to murder people - have you considered Rancor so he can actually get in there? Could also be good with the 0 power Blood Artist to let him trade-off sometimes.

The manabase looks real tough. Glad Forbidden Orchard can help out! Not sure what else to say..

I was tempted to run Path to Exile over Mercy Killing but the card is incredibly thematic while offering great synergy. The way I look at it is if my set up is there Mercy Killing gives me more than just removal in the form of burn and life gain. I also love having the option to use it on Hunted Troll as it gives me 8 creatures for a stunning block (and if I have a Soul Warden or Suture Priest out I gain 8 life which can easily put me back in a game I was behind on. Overall I accept the reduction of efficiency for creature removal in favor of the potential benefits that I could have perhaps more so given that Abrupt Decay often covers my bases when it comes to quick removal.
