Fair enough I'm across the table from Weirdhat, I'm a huge control player, and I feel tools for a long game are more necesitated.

Well your trying to stay away from the long game with this list. I feel like if you let it go I to the late game, you did something wrong. Lol

So I tested scroll rack and top... Not the biggest fan. Scroll rack basically reads out "don't have a wheel? Let me help you dig for one, so you can re-draw all those bad cards"

Top was slightly better but every time I use it, I had to use the draw ability and shuffle it away. Thoughts?

look into Aboshan's Desire and maybe Vampiric Link they caught my eye

If you like the card advantage from the Curiosity types of cards, try Geth's Grimoire !!! Definitely worth every bit of the 4 mana spent to cast it.

Definitely, just haven't had time to pick up and test cards

I always proxy before buying cards. That way your not wasting money buying cards you aren't going to use. Lol

What is Decree of Annihilation for?

Winning games Via cycling and staying in with Mana rocks.

September 16, 2014 10:57 a.m.

I get that your aiming to cycle it, but at 7 mana, it's a little high. You guys have been pretty picky on the higher cmc cards. I was just curious as to what matches he uses it for. Also it hurts to see Mind Over Matter only in the maybe board. Lol

I play a similar list and I really like it. I'm wondering what are the new changes u made! Make an update please ! If I may say something, I think Treasonous Ogre , Goblin Electromancer and medaillons are bad/not good enough because this deck does not need more colorless mana. The only thing that can prevent u from going crazy is colorless mana most of the time. Nightscape Familiar and Helm of Awakening are enough for me, more is overkill. For the Ogre, I just find him slow and not relevant enough, maybe u could explain better this choice.

Ogre is amazing. Easily my favorite card that eases your mana. As for the other cards, they are amazing on the turns that your storming off. Not to mention if he DOES play Decree of Annihilation they only help out from there.

PrestonShilling I think he's testing some wishboard targets or just fun add-ins.

Skirge Familiar Mana Seism Rain of Filth Culling the Weak Any of these look good. Culling the weak is probably weak here but Worth mentioning. I'm trying to speed the deck up a full turn. I'm thinking spells like this could be the answer.

@Waroulolz the colorless mana is something that isn't the greatest but it does save mana in the long run. the advantage is something that you can only see after a couple of turns or during a long turn. I also am not sure what I would replace the mana reducers with, any suggestions? the cool thing about the mana reducers is that technically they aren't just colorless mana. They keep you from having to tap a land for mana in some cases, A land that will eventually be used to pay a colored mana for a different spell.

@PrestonShilling I have tested most of those cards and Skirge Familiar cost one more mana than I am willing to spend and the discard hurts, it just does. Mana Seism , and Rain of Filth aren't as good as the cards that are in the list in there stead, I've tested them and there was never a moment where I wanted to take that leap, and It never worked out. with Culling the Weak there are not enough creatures and the payout isn't big enough.

Decree of Annihilation is used in matchups against decks that have an explosive amount of mana via land. we can get large amounts of mana using rocks and against such decks we can play the slow burn if they are brought to a screeching halt with no way of recovering fast enough.

I know skirge is expensive. But if you get him on board he acts like Mind Over Matter during your storm turns. Casting wheel makes you discard your hand so why not use familiar to turn that would be loss of cards into mana for your next hand? Lol

Not every spell is a Wheel of Fortune

September 23, 2014 1:04 a.m.

You play enough wheels to draw one with a curiosity on Nekusar. (And you play 4 version of curiosity and geth's grimoire feels like a 5th)I'm trying to build my list towards a storm feel, so every wheel nets my you another. I'm thinking of adding in free spells like Snap and possibly Frantic Search & Turnabout like you suggested. Maybe adding islands to give High Tide a try. Thoughts on any of those?

September 23, 2014 2:29 p.m.

Also Candelabra of Tawnos could not only be good for High Tide but also for filtering Grim Monolith Basalt Monolith Mana Vault Mana Crypt Sol Ring and Mind Stone into colored sources.

September 23, 2014 2:35 p.m.

Since I'm trying to storm off in one turn, maybe Grim Tutor over Cruel Tutor same cmc, but more mana intensive for adding the cards to your hand instead of the top of built library. Maybe you'll like that better as well.

the list before you is the physical list. if Grim Tutor isn't there then that means I don't physically have it. It would be a better addition. I've never been confident about top decks even with Curiosity I've drawn 14 cards that included nothing useful it does happens, albeit not often. The deck does have epic top deck potential, one draw and your awful hand wins you the game. i'm iffy about the Candelabra of Tawnos it requires testing. Turnabout is awesome because it will always be helpful unlike Mana Geyser .

Candelabra of Tawnos is also $500. And you're up-playing your wiffs on wheels.
