I know candelabra is expensive, but it seems like it Would act like a 1 drop MoM... In the sense that it keeps you in colored sources. Don't see where that would be a Wasted card slot.

Candelabra is ridiculous card not a dead draw. It just costs half a grand.

Proxy to see if its amazing as we all think? Lol it could be exactly what I'm looking for to. Keep the wheels coming. (Most off the time my storm turn falls short is due to lack of colored sources.)

It could work for turning large colorless into land based mana, but realistically owning one isn't coming anytime soon. Albeit it seems more at home in mono colored decks running mana doublers.

I don't think its useful enough, as often as I would like.

With only 2 copies of Fork do you think its worth the card slots? We tossed around the possibility of testing High Tide ... still not a fan of Mind Over Matter ?

I haven't gotten around to figuring out how to incorporate High Tide and I will think about it when i get the grixis dual lands

Also Candelabra of Tawnos has been amazing. I know it has an absurd price tag, but if your Playgroup is like anything like mine, they wont care to let you proxy it to test it/ hold the card slot until you get a real one. Lol

High Tide effects all islands, I think it's Gona lead to opponents counterspelling your stuff a lot.

When i was asking you about it, i was looking at other grixis storm decks for some pieces of storm tech. The ones that played high tide played around 5-10 islands. Considering that we are pretty deep in the number of red and black spells we play, i would start with the lower end of that. Im testing 6 atm.

@Gspot I think the likelihood of getting blown out is far less than Dream Halls

It's something to keep in mind. legacy hightide can lose games because when they combo off opponents can hard cast multiple FoWs off like 2/3 lands. It's really cute to see happen but dissapointing for the hightide player.

I don't really see that happening in commander, though. Legacy has access to 4 of every counter, and only 60 cards increases the odds to draw them. Generally commander decks dont play nearly as many counters and even the dedicated blue control decks shouldn't be packing enough disruption to shut us out. Besides, tendrils can get around counters. (since Stifle abilities are even more rare in this format.)
Have you made the switch to high tide on paper yet? Im still trying to find the perfect amount of islands to support it. Ill try and upload the changes ive made later today.

hows [high tide] working? Did you ever try that out?
November 20, 2014 8:53 a.m.
the minor change i made was to add Past in Flames to allow for easier access to Tendrils of Agony if I have to go off without nekusar on the field. I am on the fence with Fork effects because they are either amazing or meh.
