After months of working and tweeking, I'm ready to release my deck onto the open criticism that is tapped out! I've tried to make this a fast deck with huge creatures, and for the most part it works. Please feel free to make suggestions!
MAINBOARD
Ramp - 4x Sylvan Caryatids, 4x Elvish Mystic, 3x Courser of Kruphix
Ghor-Clan Rampager
is used almost exclusively for Bloodrush and gives my bigger creatures like Savageborn Hydra, Polukranos, World Eater and Stormbreath Dragon trample so they can do some damage.
Xenagos, God of Revels is great for his ability, but he's also great in combination with Kalonian Hydra,
Ghor-Clan Rampager
and Flesh/Blood. At the end of your turn, a creature like Polukranos, World Eater deals 10 additional damage to player with Flesh/Blood. I'm definitely not getting rid of it.
Mizzium Mortars
is obviously for removal, but usually the overload cost can be paid very easily.
Savageborn Hydra has drawn some criticisms, but I love his ability to give me an option. If I have a buttload of mana, and nothing to do with it, I can always add counters to him. And with double strike and 3x
Ghor-Clan Rampager
s to give him trample and an additional +8 damage, I'm going to keep him around.
Domri Rade and Courser of Kruphix make excellent draw schemes, ensuring you a constant source of creature cards to do something with all the mana I have loaded up.
SIDEBOARD
My biggest issue with this deck is Supreme Verdict and Detention Sphere. Since I can't really do anything about Supreme Verdict, I threw in 2x
Destructive Revelry
as a cheap shock spell that also happens to destroy enchantments OR artifacts. Return to the AEther is also added for enchantments and Gods.
Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is great for non-creature decks and flying, as is Clan Defiance (which works great with Xenagos, the Reveler's +1.
Mistcutter Hydra
is also great against Detention Spheres and blue decks in general.
Elixir of Immortality is for mill decks.
Pithing Needle is for planeswalkers and AEtherling. I really hate that card.
