Again 3-1 but a lot better week I would say.
1st Match: 2-1 my favor. Red/White Heroic deck
Game 1: I don't remember this one much. I remember he was swinging with a 3/3 flyer and had a red/white enchantment out that allowed him to bring back his creatures until the beginning of the next attack phase. I was able to overwhelm him with a Kalonian Hydra, Mistcutter Hydra combo.
Game 2: This was my worst game of the night. Mulliganed down to 5 and just got super mana boned. Game lasted maybe 5 turns.
Game 3: He got mana boned this time and was able to bring the game to a close rather quickly.
2nd Match: 2-0 my favor. blue/green/black not sure exactly what the win con was.
Game 1: He didn't do much this game. But I was able to pull out a Kalonian and swing till I won. Thoughtseized maybe once during the game?
Game 2: He got mana flooded it seemed like. Was easily able to pull in the win with some huge dudes of awesomeness.
3rd Match: 2-1 My favor. Green/Red/White multiple win cons.
(This guy is basically unbeatable so I'm pretty happy with the outcome)
Game 1: A rather quick match. He pulled out a Purphoros, God of the Forge and Elspeth, Sun's Champion combo 6 damaging me 3 times then played a mana creep for the win.
Game 2: Not a good start having to mulligan down to 5. A really close game though but was able to pull through. He got Elspeth out and had the angel that puts counters on all creatures whenever it deals damage. I put out Arbor Colossus swinging at Elspeth. He gang blocked the Colossus in an attempt to kill it but luckily I had Mortal's Resolve to save him and play Mistcutter Hydra the next turn for game.
Game 3: This was the best my deck has probably done at FNM so far. Turn 1 land, Elvish Mystic. Turn 2, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, 2 Burning-Tree Emissary, Tap Nykthos into a Kalonian Hydra. Turn 3, Draw a Nykthos, Tap for 7 mana, play Nykthos and tap for 12 mana in total, play Mistcutter Hydra as an 11/11, swing with Kalonian and Mistcutter for game. Couldn't have gone any better.
Match 4: 1-2 his favor. Mono black devotion
Game 1: He was able to pull Master of Feasts and the rakdos dude swinging for game.
Game 2: He was mana boned and I pulled a decent hand was able to monstrous Polukranos, World Eater to wipe his board and swing for game.
Game 3: He got the same combo off and was able to swing for game.
An overall good night in FNM and was able to pull a 3rd Garruk for my deck which I was looking at getting anyway. Leave comments if you have any questions about the deck!
