Sideboard

A standard Omniscience themed deck. Revolves around creating an infinite loop with Archaeomancer and Ghostly Flicker. Possibilities are endless when you pull it off, either with infinite mana for a huge Blue Sun's Zenith, or infinite life with Pristine Talisman, or even decking yourself out with Rune-Scarred Demon to find your whole library into your hand, then casting Laboratory Maniac with Amass the Components.

Ramps up with artifact mana, and thins out your library through Evolving Wilds and Solemn Simulacrum, among the other filter Forbidden Alchemy. Don't be afraid of using Forbidden Alchemy for filtering, as I know alot of people are hesitant of throwing away cards that might be useful. The only aim here is to get what's really needed.

Fastest I've built up the combo would be Gilded Lotus -> tap lotus and pay 2 life for Phyrexian Metamorph -> tap copied lotus and pay 2 life for Phyrexian Metamorph.

Planning to bring it down to FNM today to see how fun it gets. Hoping for at least one win, that's all :D

Comments are welcome on improving this deck :)

Got 2 wins today with this deck.

Match-up breakdowns:

Match #1: RG Ramp:
Game #1:
Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip came pouring out from my opponent, copied one with my Phyrexian Metamorph and held out, trading my Solemn Simulacrums with his, etc. Ghostly Flickered the Phyrexian Metamorph after declaring blockers to throw out another wolf and gain 2 life.

Dropped a Black Sun's Zenith and cleared the board on T5.

Cast Gilded Lotus on T6, proceeded to copy it once with 1 Phyrexian Metamorph.

Omniscience came down on T7, along with an Archaeomancer, which returned my Ghostly Flicker from the previous turns. Cast Diabolic Tutor for free, searched for Rune-Scarred Demon, which I infinitely blinked both the demon and Archaeomancer until I got my whole library in hand.

Dropped a Laboratory Maniac and proceeded to cast Amass the Components for the game.

Sideboard: -3 Pristine Talisman, +1 Duress, +2 Murder

Game #2:
T1, opponent laid a land, and passed.

I laid a Swamp and Duressed him. His hand revealed Huntmaster of the Fells  Flip, Rampant Growth, Zealous Conscripts, Green Sun's Zenith and 2 other lands. Threw out Green Sun's Zenith.

Opponent ramped up while I Forbidden Alchemy through turns 2-5. Held off the initial wave with small bursts of Black Sun's Zenith while dropping Sphere of the Suns and a Gilded Lotus.

On T6, Opponent came in for the kill with an activated Inkmoth Nexus, and had a Kessig wolfrun in the waiting, with enough to pump for lethal.

Declaring no blockers, opponent proceeded to tap out for Kessig wolfrun. In response, I Murdered the poisonous attacker.

Dropped a land and an Omniscience on T7, tutored a Rune-Scarred Demon, which fetched me a Ghostly Flicker. Flickered the demon to find an Archaeomancer and put it into play. Flickered both to return Ghostly Flicker to hand and find Blue Sun's Zenith. Ramped up to 3000 blue mana by flickering Archaeomancer and Gilded Lotus (tapping it for 3 blue before flickering). Cast Blue Sun's Zenith targeting opponent for X = 2997.

Match #2: UW Delver
Game #1:
Won the roll so I went first. Cracked an Evolving Wilds for Swamp and passed.
Opponent paid 2 life and Gitaxian Probeed me. He laid a land and passed.

Dropped another land and cast Sphere of the Suns.

Opponent dropped another land, cast Snapcaster Mage and flashbacked Gitaxian Probe from his graveyard. Passed the turn.

Dropped a Solemn Simulacrum, searched for an Island, and passed.

Snapcaster Mage attacked, and I tried trading my Solemn Simulacrum with it. Opponent paid 2 life for a Mutagenic Growth. Drew a Forbidden Alchemy. Opponent landed a Delver of Secrets  Flip and passed.

Tested the waters by dropping another Solemn Simulacrum. Wasn't countered. Seems safe. Opponent Vapor Snaged it back at the end of my turn.

Delver didn't flip, and I took 3 in total for the attack. Opponent dropped a Geist of Saint Traft and passed.

Put down Gilded Lotus and proceeded to Black Sun's Zenith for X = 2. Cleared the board, and opponent snagged his Geist of Saint Traft back to hand. Earned me a turn, at least.

T5, opponent dropped a land and GoST again and passed.

Tried to Black Sun again, but got countered. Followed up with another Gilded Lotus, then copied it once with Phyrexian Metamorph.

Got smacked in the face for 10 with GoST high on two Mutagenic Growths. Opponent played a Delver of Secrets  Flip and a Hero of Bladehold.

End of turn Forbidden Alchemy got me a Diabolic Tutor. Cast it to search for Omniscience, which I then proceeded to cast. Won with the same Laboratory Maniac as per match #1.

Sideboard: +2 Murder, +1 Duress, +3 Negate, +3 Surgical Extraction, -3 Pristine Talisman, -2 Amass the Components, -1 Laboratory Maniac, -1 Rune-Scarred Demon, -1 Ghostly Flicker, -1 Omniscience

Game #2:
T1, opponent Pondered and passed.

I cracked an Evolving Wilds for a Swamp and passed.

Suddenly realised I have no win conditions at all because I forgot to side in Blue Sun's Zenith.

Opponent dropped a Delver of Secrets  Flip, probed me for 2 life and passed.

Drew a Murder. Broke open a Sphere of the Suns and passed.

Delver flipped. Opponent swung for 5 with a Mutagenic Growth, dropped a Snapcaster Mage and flashbacked his Ponder. Probed me again for 2 life. Passed the turn.

Black Sun's Zenith for X = 2 after putting down a Drowned Catacomb. Proceeded to pay 2 life for Surgical Extraction on his Snapcaster Mage. His hand had a big threat: Hero of Bladehold. My hand had no Black Sun's Zenith.

Opponent tapped out for Hero of Bladehold and ended.

Murdered the hero on my turn.

Opponent put out a land and passed.

Brought in a Solemn Simulacrum.

Opponent put out a land and passed.

Solemn swung in for 2 turns unhindered.

Opponent dropped a Geist of Saint Traft.

Sent in my Solemn on the next turn and tried to trade. Opponent blocked and Mutagenic Growthed the geist. I Black Sun'ed for X = 2 after combat.

Drew a Black Sun the next turn.

Opponent landed another Geist of Saint Traft. Great. Just great.

Black Sun'ed for X = 2 again. Opponent Vapor Snaged his geist back to hand. I paid 2 life for Surgical Extraction on his geist in the graveyard. Promptly pulled the biggest headache out of the game.

Opponent kept putting out lands the next few turns.

Cast a Solemn the next turn, and kept swinging for lethal.

Match #3: WB Tokens
Game #1:
Opponent won the roll and played. Dropped a Doomed Traveler and ended.

Cracked an Evolving Wilds for a Swamp. Passed.

Took 1 from the traveler, and passed.

Cracked another Evolving Wilds for an Island and passed.

Two spirits came from a Lingering Souls and got smacked by the traveler for 1 again.

Drew my next card, still no Black Sun in sight. Put down a land and cast Pristine Talisman.

Opponent dropped 1 Intangible Virtue and swung for 5. Then played Blood Artist. Ouch.

Next draw, nope, still no Black Sun. No land neither. I'm screwed.

Flashbacked Lingering Souls, played another Intangible Virtue, and swung in for 7. I'm almost there.

Still no Black Sun, still no land. Scooped.

Sideboard: +3 Surgical Extraction, +1 Blue Sun's Zenith, +1 Duress,

Game #2:
Decided to keep my hand of one land. Very smart.

Opponent dropped a Doomed Traveler.

Put out a Sphere of the Suns.

It got Leonin Relic Wardened.

Did nothing. No land.

Swung at me for 3 and passed.

Did nothing. Still no land.

Opponent cast Midnight Haunting at the end of my turn.

Dropped down two Intangible Virtues, and that was it for the night.
