Are you on a budget? Have your boss fired you? Are you having trouble finding jobs but STILL want to play creatureless 8-rack? Well I am here for you, friend. Welcome to "I Am Poor, But Love Racks"!
The point of this deck is to be a good entry point for 8-rack, and getting a good understanding of what 8-rack is about.
When you want to move up in price, see my deck Do You Like Your Hand? Too Bad.
HOW TO PLAY:
Use all of your discard spells as soon as you can. Put out Dakmor Salvage just to kill it with Smallpox. Throw down Dakmor Salvage in your graveyard to retrace
Raven's Crime
and make them discard again.... and again.... and again....Then get down Necrogen Mists, Shrieking Affliction, and The Rack. Good game!
WHAT MAKES THIS DECK DIFFERENT FROM OTHER 8-RACK DECKS?
Many 8-rack decks utilize a card called Ensnaring Bridge. It's a horrendously overpowered card, but the only problem is it's price. SO, to deal with creatures in this deck without using Ensnaring Bridge, you have way more removal. Victim of Night, Smallpox, and
Geth's Verdict
. The reason for the non-target removal is to get away hexproof cards or indestructible cards.
SIDEBOARD:
4x Ratchet Bomb - Mainly for use against token decks. All those Goblins / Zombies / Eldrazi Scions bumming you out? Exchange some removal spells with these. These are also great for getting away Leyline of Sanctity or Chalice of the Void.
4x Dark Betrayal - Exchange the two Victim of Night for these if you are up against a black deck.
3x
Welding Jar
- If your opponent plays or sideboards in artifact hate.
3x Bojuka Bog - Efficient against Delver or reanimate decks.
2x Hero's Downfall - Exchange Victim of Night for these if you go up against a deck based on a planeswalker.
3x
Memoricide
- Great if you go against a deck based on some combo with just THAT creature that always comes back. For example, a
Flamewake Phoenix
or
Chandra's Phoenix
deck.
