I really like Necrotic Ooze in my list. Especially with cards like Razaketh.

So one way you could thwart graveyard hate during your turn to prevent interrupting a combo your putting together is Dosan the Falling Leaf. He's cheap, he's useful, and he'll receive a lot of hate.

I may have already said this but Perpetual Timepiece is a great way to feed/protect that grave. It won me the game the other night being able to return most of my grave to prevent myself from being milled out and in turn let me set up for a lab win. Still a great deck. I have mad major changes to mine. LET me know what u think.

ZomBMO: I'll consider it! :) Honestly, I've set this deck aside somewhat since I'm messing with The Locust God so much recently.

How would you build this if your LGS had a "no infinite" rule?

Shredwick: Hmmm. On one level, I think this deck loses a lot without the potential for infinite combos. On the other hand, it would let you go more directly for classic reanimator cards, so you could fit in more big reanimation targets in place of some of the combo pieces. Does that help? :)

Why you dont use a eldrazi titan to hate grave? You can respond with entomb, for example.

juniogof: Because if I mill it by accident, suddenly I'm left without a graveyard (and thus, without resources). Also, it makes several of my combos not work.

+1 for the Firefly reference! The deck is pretty shiny too

May I suggest Dryad Arbor? I run it in my Sidisi simply because it is a creature for Sidisi as well as a land so you dont have to cut other spells and creatures for it

There are some new cards in the rivals set that may benefit this deck. We have World Shaper which allows you to send more cards to the graveyard and retrieve land. Next is Journey to Eternity. This should be easy to transform by sacing a creature and with that we get a mana and a reanimation engine. Finally we have Path of Discovery. With sidisi, if we keep uncovering creatures as our top card, we can generate a ton of zombies.

To be honest, I'm not quite sure where I want this deck to go at the moment. I'm playing around with several possible builds, but for the moment I'm not updating this list with new cards...

Your deck looks amazing with all the combos, it really uses the graveyard to the fullest. Have you considered Vigor instead of Dread? Would help the aggro plan by making it easy to throw Sidisi and zombies into any defenders. Surprised not to see Crypt of Agadeem as well since it will definitely add lots of mana in a self-mill deck. World Shaper could be another good card to ramp if you're filling your graveyard with lands. With all the zombies you're generating, Growing Rites of Itlimoc  Flip should ramp a lot, and The Scarab God burns and scries a lot. I feel like Worm Harvest doesn't add as much value for the CMC.

I don't know if you can pull off any sort of crazy infinite combos with it, but Path of Discovery certainly holds a lot of value in here. If you mill yourself and hit a creature to get a 2/2 zombie you get to explore either hit a land to draw and get your land drop, or you buff your token and mill again to potentially repeat if you mill a creature again.

Awesome deck, your deadeye navigator usage helped me figure out some issues I was having with Sidisi's Milkshake. Thanks for sharing!

elgosu1337, RmpG, DangoDaikazoku, TheNocholas, et al: Finally updated this! Plenty of new toys from Ravnica, too :) any suggestions you'd all give for changed from this new version?

(The writeup is no longer quite accurate; I'll fix that later.)

Daedalus19876 oh my gosh I'm so excited I didn't know when this day would come! I'll look it over in more detail when I get home and see if I can come up with additional suggestions, cheers!

I think guilds has a lot to play with. I will be updating a few cards when the set becomes legal. Underrealm lich and Erata are my favorites from the set. I honestly would recommend leaving this deck alone, build a deck with sidisi at the helm that revolves around the undergrowth and surveil mechanics. Once you find the cards that work the best then think about swapping out cards on this list. I have gotten my milkshake deck to a solid point and am planning on working on a zombie themed sidisi deck.

TheNocholas: I've included most of the things I'm interested in from Guilds already, honestly.

I will let you know if I see Etrata in any of my games. My build is etb with flicker and recursion. I think in my deck if I see her she will be a huge threat. Which normally just gets me ganged on.

October 7, 2018 10:34 p.m.

Daedalus19876 says... #22

TheNocholas: She's just so slow, though. Even if you were to immediately re-draw her, she'll take 6 turns to kill a single player.

Dango says... #23

I found Etrata to be extremely underwhelming. She just feels like an awkward Voltron commander and requires several turns to be successful.

The new Lazav on the other hand is something worthwhile. My Lazav, the Multifarious list was greatly inspired by this Sidisi list because I like the idea of having a myriad of choices to combo off at any moment.

I really like this update to the list, and I think you freshened it up nicely. Might I ask why you're not running Basalt Monolith? Used in conjunction with Mesmeric Orb you can mill your whole library. I've found this to be one of the most efficient ways to dump win-cons into my library for my Lazav deck since it's a two-card combo.

Daedalus19876 says... #24

DangoDaikazoku: Honestly, it's because 1) it's a non-creature card so it hurts to whiff with Sidisi out, 2) it doesn't really do much for the deck outside of the combo, and 3) I really should get my hands on an Aphetto Alchemist who does the same thing while also being a creature.

October 8, 2018 1:31 p.m.

TheNocholas says... #25

I agree Etrata is slow and needs a lot of components to win with her. My deck happens to run a lot of sac, recursion, blinking, some doubling, and a few ways to cast on opponents endsteps. I have faith that I could get her out and take out an opponent in as little as three turns, if I can recur or cast her on their endstep. At the end of the day Etrata looks like a really fun card to play.
