The worst thing that can happen then is Krosan Grip. "No you're not".
March 26, 2015 1:14 p.m.
Paying life to Necropotence is a cost, and can't be responded to in any way, including split second. (Provided you get priority, and your opponent didn't preemptively Krosan Grip your Necropotence. Although it makes no sense for them to do that as you were about to be out of the game anyway.)
Also players do have the right to concede at anytime, without needing priority or to be under their own control (Worst Fears not, you can still concede.), but conceding in response to a lethal attack is kinda a bitch move. Especially if it was a lifelink attack...

Yea, this happened once in a multiplater game I played. A guy was being killed with an Hatred buffed Wurmcoil Engine and conceded instead of letting the opponent gaining a lot of life (Hatred player was not the controller of Wurmcoil Engine)

Ugh. They have no reason to join in on the joke, they were about to win! Beep boop.
You can krosan grip necropotence in response to activation

I'm just going to upvote this on 2 principles.
Mono Black EDH is fun.
You used Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon as your General. I LOVE SKITTLES.
Deck is sexy that is all.

Thanks a lot benni4848! I appreciate that you like the deck as much as me!

@illumfolly, Nope, not in time to keep someone from killing themselves. Paying a cost to activate an ability happens before anyone gets a chance to respond to that ability, and whenever you activate an ability you're the first person to get priority. Therefore you can pay 1 life to activate, get priority, pay 1 life again, continue until you're at 0, and lose the game as a state-based action before anyone gets a chance to respond.

Sorry to burst your Thespian's Stage and Dark Depths combo but it becomes an exact copy meaning that you would have to sac both of them

No, the legends rule says that you need to sac only one of them (if it has been changed I don't know, but it is like this). This means that I copy Dark Depths, sac the original since it has counters, and since the other did not entered the battlefield, it is also sacrificed and I get my Marit Lage!!!

It is not a problem griffstick, this is the intended result. I know I do sacrifice 2 lands in the process, but I think 2 lands for a 20/20 indestructible flyer is fair enough.

Strata Scythe? Exile a Swamp or Snow-Covered Swamp and equip to your General. Then Equip the cloak. Swing for a bunch unblockable and win.

I was not sure to include it, but since you suggest it, if I can find one in my things I will inclulde it to boost my creatures even more. Thanks!

Probably drop Staff of Domination for the Scythe. Just a personal opinion there.

Id drop the staff too, but not for the Strata Scythe. This card great for when other players also have the same lands imprinted on it... because you run snow cover swamps, its only average. Whip of Erebos is always great. Its the cheapest way to give all your creatures lifelink (still works with infect). It also doubles as recursion. Or perhaps another creatur. maybe Midnight Banshee

If I was to add a creature, I was thinking about either Sidisi, Undead Vizier or Rune-Scarred Demon for another tutor, which one would be the best???

Definitely Sidisi, Undead Vizier. Being a reanimater deck, the Exploit is no big deal because you can dig your fallen out of the grave.

Ones a beater and Ones a blocker. Id go with runscared demon cause he is flying 6/6. Ine more thing you can never go wrong with Sword of Feast and Famine

Lol two different opinions :)
I think I will try Rune-Scarred Demon first, only because he is a flyer, but if I see it sticks in my hand because of the higher mana cost, I will try Sidisi, Undead Vizier.
Sword of Feast and Famine would also be good, but the only thing I am concerned about is protection from black. I have nothing in this deck to take care of non-creature artifacts, and someone in my playgroup is playing a Thada Adel, Acquisitor EDH, so it would kill me. Other than that I would put it mainboard, so I will leave it in the maybeboard for now.
