Really? I honestly think Mizzium Mortars is better because I'm only using the burn to kill creatures.

and I don't want to drop the primordials cause they're one of my wincons, they also happen to be able to smash a land.

Strionic Resonator is a neat Idea but I don't know if I have room for it.

Magma Jet besides killing a creature it reduces the chances that you get a card you dont need at the moment, whether you are lack of lands or have too much

Sylvan Primordial are good to destroy permanents or lands but 4 copies is to ensure you get it on your hand or at the beginning of the game which is no need since you wont be able to play it until you get the mana which wont be reality until after T4

also this is not an aggro deck but more a midrange so need to ramp or keep your opponent busy till you get the mana to play your big guys

The thing is I need to have it at 4 because on the off chance they get to 4 mana, its the only defence I have to Desecration Demon , the goal of the deck is to get he opponent to 0 mana, then take everything out with the mortars and start swinging.

I do have Magma Jet and Lightning Strike in the sb just in case.

I also never said this was an aggro deck, but I will use midrange as one of the deck type's thanks.

Been testing it out lol its hella fun xD i hate when i draw into more Encroaching Wastes but its fun i might buy it :D

Thanks, Encroaching Wastes is good since most decks run a set of shocklands, scry lands, or the new devotion land, but if they aren't running any just switch em for mountains and forests from the sideboard.

I don't really want to put Burning Earth in, I would rather have them at no land than being pinged when they do.

with the amount of ramp you've got going on, why not some x cost cards as an alternate win con? maybe Clan Defiance as a 2 of? can be use-full for pesky creatures too

Magma Jet is a must it deals with aggro as well as lets your scry to ensure you get the LD cards your looking for

I loved the interactions in this deck. I even built my own version. Thanks for putting yours on here. I would have never thought to build this! Check out Strionic Resonator for your Ember Swallower and Sylvan Primordial .

My version Land Eater

I thought of Strionic Resonator but it just wasn't doing what I wanted it to do.

Have you thought of taking out 1 or 2 Demolish for more Frenzied Tilling ? You currently have 12 cards in your deck you're trying to play on turn 4, and frenzied tilling looks like itll help more than demolish.

Frayace, it's all about turn 3 actually, I want to play a Demolish or Bramblecrush by turn 3, in my experience, If my opponent ever gets to 4 land I've lost.

Frenzied Tilling only gives me an extra basic for the added green mana, while Demolish is much faster and can take out a keyrune or legendary artifact, hell even Chromatic Lantern .

Ah ok, it makes sense that speed is the main objective for land destruction.

What is your opinion on using Manaweft Sliver over Satyr Hedonist or Axebane Guardian ?
Satyr Hedonist is able to grab you more red mana once, while the Manaweft Sliver stays and continues to give you red or green mana, and theyre both just as easy to remove.
The Axebane Guardian costs more to play, and only has synergy with Sylvan Caryatid and himself.

Manaweft Sliver is a really flimsy Voyaging Satyr , the Axebane Guardian provides a bunch of mana that keeps stacking with other guardians, plus after a couple Ember Swallower monstrosities you'll be pretty low on land yourself and he makes up for it.

The Satyr Hedonist gives me the 3 red I need for a Mizzium Mortars overload, or a burst of mana for an early turn 4 Sylvan Primordial or Ember Swallower monstrosity.

The hedonist also has that 2 power that can ravish an opponents life over time.

What are your thoughts on adding Xenagos, The Reveler for mana and pumping out 2/2 haste creatures? Or is he too far out of budget. Price has come down on him. I'm planing on building a LD deck, just wondered what you thought of him.

December 20, 2013 11:01 a.m.

CW says... #18

reborngreen, as far as Xenagos, The Reveler goes, hes unnecessary for the deck to work, but he can be an additional wincon, so if I were you I would drop 2 Axebane Guardian for a couple proxys of him just to try him out, then decide if hes worth it.

December 20, 2013 3:49 p.m.

Would Kamahl, Fist of Krosa have a spot over Primordial? Turn their lands into 1/1's and Mortars for the LOOOOL.

April 21, 2015 11:01 p.m.

Even better (And cheaper) since it's in the sideboard: Anger of the Gods, especially against a tapped out control deck (that's situational, but still hilarious).
