sounds like a good concept to me, maybe throw in Stuffy Doll I know it has a higher CMC than Souls of the Faultless but once its out its not going away unless its exiled

This is a very sweet idea, +1!
You could try Viscera Seer for scries. With Athreos it is essentially a Lightning Bolt engine.

Actualy Grave Pact and Blood Artist trigger even if your opponent chooses to return the creature to your hand on Athreos. They all trigger "whenever a creature (you control/own) dies", so even if the creature is than returned to your hand, they still loose 1 life and have to sacrifice a creature.
I love Killing Wave with Athreos, God of Passage. Also Barter in Blood and Smallpox synergies well with this deck.

maybe Quest for the Gravelord, i just like getting 5/5 zombies for 1 mana, Deathgreeter is like a mini Blood Artist and Grim Haruspex lets you draw cards. Pawn of Ulamog gives you sacrificeable tokens when you sacrifice other things.

Quest for the Gravelord is a little slow and inefficient for this deck, but I really like Deathgreeter! Thanks for the suggestions!

Is there a reason why you're not running Lingering Souls? It would be a nice fit in the deck.

I would substitute Vampiric Rites with Fallen Ideal. You'll find that Vampiric Rites is costly with what you want to do. Fallen Ideal returns to your hand if the creature dies, so you don't lose it. You can even protect it if someone tries to destroy it by using its ability on the creature its attached to and get it back to your hand. Also, it allows you to, essentially, trigger Blood Artist and make you creature its attached to a flying Nantuko Husk at no cost at instant speed.

Why not a 4 of Zulaport Cutthroat?
So many better ways of building this deck it hurts.

You know, Adrekan I appreciate helpful suggestions, but you're just being a jerk.

I definitely like the idea, but I feel as if you need some protection mainboard against combos and such. Like Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek.

This deck would make these two cards scary: It That Betrays and Butcher of Malakir

Yeah, those two would be great... sadly my gameplay and mana curve don't support anything with such a high cmc.

Gravecrawler and Diregraf Captain would work well.

How about Lone Rider Flip? It goes well with all of your life gain.

is Zulaport Cutthroat not just strictly bether then Blood Artist?or is there a hidden upside in bloodartist i dont see?
July 25, 2017 8:35 a.m.
Swiss_saga: Blood Artist triggers on your opponent's creatures. That's huge upside.

I depends on the situation. I run Blood Artist because it does trigger off of opponent's creatures as well, but it also targets a player. Zulaport Cutthroat is better in situations where your opponent has Hexproof (Leyline of Sanctity)

Rivals of Ixalan has provided me with a fantastic support card in Ashes of the Abhorrent!

Hey There,
I like the idea. But I think that some cards have too high manacosts, Kokusho, the Evening Star Diabolic Tutor and for Spirit Bonds I think you don't have engough creatus with low losts.
For a black / white deck I miss some spot removal like Path to Exile
and I would put the Leyline of Sanctity in the sideboard.
