I Dislike the Meta Right Now. American Control!

This deck was just U/R for a while, but I got a bunch of shocklands, and now it's W/U/R. The current list is based pretty heavily off the deck that won GP Vancouver B.C., which is http://www.wizards.com/magic/magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtg/daily/deck/1416

Some cards that I replaced were cards American has that are better, some were I don't have as many as I need of that card, and some were personal preference.

The Sideboard:

Anger of the Gods Mizzium Mortars comes in against fast people and Blood Baron of Viskopa .
Pithing Needle is great against a lot of people. It does well against G/r, mono-B, Esper, and U/W particularly, and those are 4 of the top 5 decks right now.
Counterflux comes in for the control matchup. If you desperately need more counters in other matchups you can, but I avoid it because of the cost.
Wear / Tear is really just against mono-B. It's okay against G/r, but mono-B is where it really shines.
Gainsay is a one-of against control and mono-U. I may add more of them.
Turn / Burn comes in against big creatures, indestructible creatures, and sometimes aggro. You don't have to fuse it.
Warleader's Helix comes in against slower aggro and problem creatures with toughness four or less. It's good in some matchups, but not enough to deserve mainboard slots.

I would love any suggestions you could possibly give.

2-0-2 at FNM — Feb. 1, 2014

I went to FNM at my local game store today and went 2-0-2. Matchups were as follows:

Simic Tempo 2-0: I just cast kill spells and Verdict. That was it.
Mono-U 1-1-1: I lost the first game to mulliganing and not drawing land. The second game I was able to Verdict and D-Sphere enough to win with Assemble the Legion. Important cards: Supreme Verdict, Detention Sphere.
Mono-R Burn 2-1: I won the first game via a few well-placed counterspells, lost the second to bad draws, and won the third with AEtherling. important cards: Syncopate, Dissolve, Counterflux, Warleader's Helix, Sphinx's Revelation.
Mono-B 1-1-1: I lost the first game to too many Desecration Demons, won the second with good removal, and tied the third one life to twenty after time and turns by using Elspeth, Sun's Champion tokens as blockers and Desecration Demon sacrifices. Important cards: Detention Sphere, Wear / Tear, Supreme Verdict.

All in all, a good night.
