How is Sigil of the Empty Throne Standard? Also, with Thalia, and sometimes Gideon, being your only creature(s), what about Aligned Hedron Network?

Vergil_Redgrail, I didn't think of Aligned Hedron Network, but now that I have, I don't think I'll use it. I seem to have enough creature removal, and Planar Outburst takes care of tokens, no matter what size they are.

Also, Sigil of the Empty Throne was printed in Magic Origins.

Thanks!

Check out my hate deck in Standard, Thraben Displacer.

Eldrazi Displacer is a great card for the deck, because it can reset a Gideon, kill tokens or Hangarback Walkers, remove blockers and combos with Hallowed Moonlight.

Hi,

Dumb Questions:

Does Archangel Avacyn  Flip survive a Planar Outburst? If you ran Selfless Spirits and sacc'd them would the rest of your indestructible creatures survive the Planar Outburst?

Authority of the Consuls would make things uncomfortable until you pulled Thalia.

I'd run a full set of Stasis Snares, or at least one more of them and one less Isolation Zones. I think the flash on Stasis Snare is top notch.

Pretty cool deck.

Geo67, I see your point with Selfless Spirit over Archangel Avacyn  Flip, but with the matchups I've been playtesting against, Selfless Spirit doesn't do as much justice (heh) as Archangel Avacyn  Flip, being a creature that can protect against my opponent's removal/board wipes and a beater, but I see what you were thinking. Furthermore, I can bring her back with Not Forgotten.

Authority of the Consuls is sideboarded against aggro, and when sided in is like running 6 copies of Thalia, Heretic Cathar, except 2 of those copies are easier to cast.

Isolation Zone has proved its worth in hundreds of matches, in my opinion. It takes care of Brisela, Voice of Nightmares with one little spell, and it takes out enchantments as well. Plus, it doesn't die to Natural State, while Stasis Snare not only just targets creatures, but also dies to Natural State AND Fragmentize. Stasis Snare has flash, but the resilience of Isolation Zone is what drew me to it.

the idea is to run Selfless Spirit and Archangel Avacyn  Flip both doing similar jobs, one as a static possible protection, the other as an unexpected threat. also selfless spirit also allows you to flip avacyn at will or protect your board from her wrath.

how much of a problem/how common is Brisela in your meta? devoting deckslots to something that can remove her (isolation zone) over more effective removal against everything else is interesting. (stasis snare also removes her by exiling 1/2 of her before the flip) but if shes a problem you probably want a faster deck, not a trying to build a deck that standard doesnt really have the tools to support.

most green decks (atleast in my meta) Appetite for the Unnatural because it hits everything so its even a (gearhulks, skyship, colossus, aetherworks marvel .. etc) so isolation zone is just as vulnerable to this often mainboard card.

Panharmonicon is especially odd in your deck as the only etb it can copy is avacyn, and that kinda just doesnt do anything. maybe add another Stasis Snare? also i second the additions of Authority of the Consuls.

Also is there any particular reason for you to run Planar Outburst over Fumigate?

Scorpowned I run Planar Outburst because of the Awaken part, but I plan to test Fumigate instead when I can get my hands on a few.

The deck is working well, it has plenty of answers, but the loss of the Hallowed Moonlight combo makes it tougher than it used to be.

Ok so I ran with your hate strategy, and I made a few changes, I'm going to test it out tonight. It become more heavily Boros btw.

If you would like me to I can upload the list and link you it here sometime.

I had a bunch of the lands already so it may be a little out of budget, I'm not sure what yours is.

Why not full playset of Not Forgotten and two Abbeys?

Maybe 2 copies of avacyn?

Dig it a lot.

My Boros version runs two single Westvale Abbey  Flips. I run two Geier Reach Sanitariums because of the need to loot to continue the gas. If you give his a whirl you notice it has a lack of card advantage, but turning it into Boros like mine I got to add the new Chandra which serves as both wincon and card draw if needed.

I do like the thought of more Not Forgottens but the list is already pretty stretched thin and the balance of spells seems very well situated for now.

Scorpowned I see your hate list and I like it, but my list definitely works best for me (but I am going to run Fumigate instead, and possibly Radiant Flames). What I don't like is Thought-Knot Seer, because it's an eldrazi and doesn't fit the theme of the deck at all, which is "I hate eldrazi, I hate emrakul, avacyn is dead". I find Westvale Abbey  Flip to be far too klunky in my list, too.

That's fair enough man, Thought-Knot Seer isn't for everyone, it's in mine for the control matchup and as a fairly reliant wincon. I'm glad I was able to give you a few suggestions :)
