I know where the poison is!

Legacy

Selsenay

Leeches , a card listed in many lists as one of the worst cards of all time, was always thought to be a terrible card because it was designed as a counter to a mechanic that never won the game anyway (at least before Scars). Used offensively, however, it turns your damage into more damage if you use it against your opponent.

Similarly, Virulent Sliver is pretty bad if you do the math. To deal your opponent 10 poison counters, at least 10 slivers have to get through to your opponent. Generally speaking in most sliver decks, your slivers are going to be dealing 2+ damage per hit anyway, so the poison was really unnecessary, and you could have had any other useful sliver instead of virulent.

Generate poison counters with Virulent Sliver while dealing damage. While you have your opponent wondering whether they are going to die to damage or poison, you decide to throw some Leeches on to them, dealing them up to nine damage for a 3 cost spell.

Do note that I'm not using any Scars cards for a reason. Scars made poison viable in standard, but not competitive in legacy.
