Haha, thank you. Glad to know people actually read the descriptions too.
As far as Assemble the Legion goes, it's not every game for sure. I just seem to get really lucky with it and draw it with a fast hand more than statistically probable I'd say. The standard version of the deck (last rotation) ran 3 copies of it. However, it was a much more important win condition. That and AEtherling. Now that I have Vent Sentinel though, I don't want to hit multiple Assembles, so I swapped em out for speed and consistency. I also ran 4 Sphere of Safety, so having extra enchantments was pretty good.

Okay, makes sense. If i'd have to give a suggestion, I'd bump the Assemble the Legion up to 2, and reduce the Ghostly Prison to 3... But that's my baggage. lol.
Could I get your suggestions with either of my decks? Parasite (For FNM, help me out guys! :)) orExtort Madness! FNM
Both of them are high up on the "i'm not playing to win" factor and I'd love your input. lol.
December 3, 2014 7:34 a.m.
Yeah, I can see that. I'll keep your suggestion in mind, and if I find myself needing a win-con sooner or more frequently, I'll definitely make the switch. Especially since Drift of Phantasms can act as "The 4th" (for consistency purposes) if it has to.
I'll definitely give your decks a look!

I've done this before actually. Axebane is pretty rampy.
December 15, 2014 3:43 a.m.
Yeah Axebane is really good, though he does die to everything. Fortunately, there's backup!
December 15, 2014 12:23 p.m.
Luutamo, I definitely considered it, but I don't really have a need for infinite mana with as much as I produce naturally. Also without Axebane Guardian, it's almost dead weight. Plus I think I've made my deck as lean as I really can :P Thanks for the suggestion though. It's a good card to keep in mind while playtesting to see if there are situations when I just want it.

So funny deck. Maybe you want to run Perimeter Captain?
January 3, 2015 10:27 a.m.
Yeah, I looked Perimeter Captain over when I was building the deck, and he was in before I weeded a bunch of stuff out. My reasoning for not including him in the final draft was that his ability's completely irrevelant. The opponent's not going to swing in to an impenetrable wall anyway, so it's essentially a Yoked Ox at that point. It just didn't do enough for me :P Thanks for the suggestion though!

I have a very similar deck Defenders: The way life should be. I would recommend Freed from the Real, as that is infinite mana with Axebane Guardian. Once that is down, there a bunch of combos, the best of which is Phenax, God of Deception as you can instantly mill the player, or Banefire for instant, uncounterable damage. Take a look and see if there is anything in there that you like.

Thanks for the good suggestions nutellaisgreaterthanlife!
I'll check out your deck after I'm done with this comment.
I've addressed Freed from the Real already. Long story short, I don't actually need it in the deck. Space is very limited already, and with the abundant quantities of mana that I make already, I don't actually need to go infinite. It also makes Axebane Guardian an even bigger target. It's a miracle already if I can resolve him and let him stick around for a few turns against any half-intelligent player.
I'm actually pretty excited about Phenax, God of Deception. It hadn't even crossed my mind yet, and I think it's a great sideboard card with my Doorkeeper's as backup. I'll probably end up putting it in after some free time and thought :P
I've considered Banefire and similar effects before, but I don't think it's something the deck actually needs. I have plenty of ways to just "get there" already, and it's basically just an inevitability thing. Technically this deck falls under the control category, and I really don't need or want that many win conditions. If I draw too many of them too early, it's a serious hindrance. With Assemble the Legion, Vent Sentinel, Ludevic's Test Subject Flip, and Genesis Wave (which I consider a win condition just because it can get all the others), I should have all the win conditions I need, without flooding in them. If I need alternatives, I have the sideboard mill plan, along with the more controlling, grindy extra Sphinx's Revelations, and Elixir of Immortality. If playtesting reveals I need Balefire though, I'll be sure to include it.
Thanks for your comment!

I glanced at it when making the deck. I wrote it off as not good enough for my very packed 3 drop slot, but it might be worth reconsidering if I run into too much trouble with flyers. Thanks for the comment!

Are you one for infinites? Because if you put in Freed from the Real, you can go infinite mana with Axebane Guardian and one other defender. Also, maybe Banefire as an alternate win-con?
January 18, 2015 12:46 a.m.
I've addressed both of those cards in previous posts, FAMOUSWATERMELON. Long story short, actual Infinite mana is irrelevant in this deck, and definitely not worth a card. Banefire is unnecessary as of yet, but if I need additional win conditions in the future, I'll probably run it.
Thanks for the comment though!

May i suggest Eternal Dominion as another very late game strategy? Because I think nothing is as fun as killing the opponent with their own emrakul!
January 20, 2015 10:36 a.m.
That's actually very interesting Ghostkitten2. Never thought about that kind of strategy before. The only problem I have with it, is that once I cast it, all of my excess mana production goes to waste, since I can't cast spells. Plus, in my playgroup, my opponents don't actually run great things like Emrakul for the most part. It's mostly tribal synergy decks. Could be a very interesting sideboard card. Fun against Walkers. I'll keep it in mind!
Thanks for the comment!

Eternal Dominion is a fun card, but you really sort of have to build a deck around it instead of as a game ender.
January 22, 2015 4:43 p.m.
I agree, FAMOUSWATERMELON. It's more of an "alright, let's see what I can do" kind of card, but sometimes those kinds of games are in order. Maybe I'll pick one up just to throw it in once every few dozen games to mess with people xD
What's better than throwing your opponents off by changing all of your win conditions every few games? They'll lose their mind, and never know what to expect, save for lots of mana ramp lol.

Looking at your deck really pushes me to add white to my deck of Wall of Omens, Wall of Denial Sphinx's Revelation. +1 good sir
Here is my Eldrazi defender deck, you might find a few guys that will peak your interest here. I just added the blue and have yet to test it out against anything. In The Trees Of Axebane
January 23, 2015 12:23 p.m.
You should play a full playset of Wall of Omens, Overgrown Battlement and Axebane Guardian. Then you need something to invest all that mana in, maybe Blightsteel Colossus, Fireball or Sands of Delirium?

I've seen a similar deck that ran Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Progenitus as win cons just for the hell of it. Use those Axebane Guardians to their fullest! +1
February 2, 2015 11:08 p.m.
I put together a defender deck as well, but it is built around Axebane Guardian + Umbral Mantle . Once you get 3 defenders 1 Axebane Guardian(or Overgrown Battlement) you get infinite mana. Then with Lobber Crew or Vent Sentinel you can go off for infinite damage as well.
I would like your thoughts on the deck though. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/04-02-15-infinitely-offensive-defenders/

Killkow, I had been considering building a deck around Axebane Guardian but just didn't know exactly where to go with it until I found this deck a couple weeks ago and it is the most fun I've had playing Magic. My favorite play is Villainous Wealth.

+1 I LOLed at "We're a four color deck, he's chromatic ramp with built in protection AND he's a defender? GET IN MY DECK." I'm a big fan of decks who don't necessarily play to win, but to just have fun - and a lot of mine are like that. Keep doing what you do! :D
As far as suggestions are concerned, you only have 1 Assemble the Legion, and you get it out on turn four? I don't see many tutors, but I do see a lot of draw mechanics. Is that how you are achieving this, or am I blind to something?
