Actually, I wouldn't, because since the Citadelis an artifact, I can get it for free with Tezzeret, and untap it with the Sages, and if I put in Prototype Portal , then I can copy it for free.

I like it, the only thing I would do would be to put in more things for the Isochron Scepter to imprint. You should hasve a look at my Iso burn/control deck. The one thing I realized is that it doesn't matter what color spells you have because Isochron Scepter makes them cost colorless. :)

Yeah, I know. But the spells I have are the only ones I really need, unless I can get my hands on some Fire/Ice . That way I can stall until I draw the combo.

Well if you want amazing draw accel, putting a Manamorphose on a scepter is amazing because it's a free draw every turn and you can just use it to pay into another Isochron Scepter .

I would think it would be more beneficial to main board Counterspell over Silence . I realize that Silence covers the whole turn but it can't be used in reaction to anything.

Maybe, but people are more likely to just give up and quit when they see Silence on the scepter. That takes half the work out! Also, it cancels their fun, but that is how griefers work.

Yeah, when my friends see me pull out my Isochron Scepter deck ( Iso burn/control ) they just immediately quit. They don't even want to play against it because I zap all the fun out of Magic by not letting them do ANYTHING with a "Counterspell Scepter." Then I just ping them to death with a "Lightning Helix Scepter."

I know it. I have several friends who won't play the deck at all, even give up magic for the night completely. I only use it as a lay resort, for when I lose a few games and need a win.

Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't be afraid of an Isochron Scepter with Silence on it if I had Disenchant , Naturalize , Shatter or similar in my deck.

You would if I had a scepter with Boomerang on it also, you would never get to cast that card...

If there was only one out, then not really as if I don't have two land by turn two I'm probably not going to do well anyway, and I only need two for Disenchant , Naturalize or Shatter . If I were playing green I probably wouldn't even bother with Naturalize and would run card:Nature's Claim instead anyway.

This is also assuming I'm not running cards like Sol Ring this is a Legacy format deck after all.

Added 4x Galvanic Blast , removed Bolt... Pretty much guaranteed to have Metalcraft active.

Removed a Galvanic Blast and a Boomerang for two Tezzeret the Seeker . Thought that free artifact lands each turn would help out a lot, and I can grab combo pieces, and his ultimate could be an alternate win con.

Also changed the sideboard, more fun if I meet a really slow deck, just to show off Tezzeret.

Any thoughts?

Also, for play history, just know that I can consistently force my friends to concede, just to get me to use a different deck. (yes, I would have won anyway.)

Also, what do you guys think about taking out a copy of Silence for another Tezzeret?

imprint stuff like Rampant Growth to thin the deck, and run Ornithopter and some black, like Tainted Strike , and virdulent-strike. hello another win con. if u have Rampant Growth imprinted on the first septer you draw then u have infinite mana basically, it just pours out and thins your deck. maybe hold a Runeflare Trap to use when they draw big from mines and mythos.

Semblance Anvil your Mind Spring so it always has x+2.

brianguymtg says... #21

Well, Runeflare Trap is a great idea, I have the Howling Mine , the Font of Mythos , and Temple Bell to get them to draw. Now, what to take out, though?

November 21, 2010 12:43 p.m.

LeakyBucket says... #22

I would get rid of the Galvanic Blast and Silence and replace them with Runeflare Trap and Counterspell , or better yet Dismal Failure .

Bane117 says... #23

Instead of Counterspell, use Assert Authority, it removes the countered spells from the game.

I want to try and use as few cards with mana costs above two as possible, to use on Isochron Scepter . That way, I have at least one activation per turn, and if I don't need a spell anymore, I can Boomerang my Scepter and re-imprint it. Silence is probably going to stay in at least a small amount, due to its stalling capabilities. Galvanic Blast is staying; it's my win con. No matter what, I have to have that. Affinity is great and all, but not with infinite mana, and the scepter.

I am really not trying to refuse all help, I just need to keep the combo intact, I need nonessential cards replaced with cards that replace themselves, ie. draw a card or more. If I had Fire/Ice , I would have that in there. If anyone has a few that they could part with, please let me know.

So, to clarify, essential cards include: Filigree Sages Khalni Gem Training Grounds Isochron Scepter Galvanic Blast

Cards that help greatly: Sol Ring Boomerang Silence Font of Mythos Temple Bell

So, any cards that serve a multiple purpose to do stuff and draw would be great, I just can't seem to find them. Also, if you think of a better strategy to go with the combo, and some cards to do it, please suggest the strategy, not just the cards. Be detailed, too.

Thanks again everyone for trying to help!
