Using The Rack as your only win con is pretty dangerous... Yeah, it look like a deck I don't want to play against, but it do not look really fun to play either: I mean, your opponent can't do anything be you can't win either so... :pThis idea itself is kinda interesting though, so take my upvote. ;)

Well its not just The Rack there is Shrieking Affliction and Treetop Village as well. It is a slow deck but it's just the way this type of deck plays. Ill be playing it tomorrow at my LGS to see how it works and handles against other decks.

If you're looking for another wincon, Liliana's Caress is a great one for two mana. I would also consider Wrench Mind as another easy discard for two and Despise is great for ditching other Planeswalkers. I have a black deck called Black Discard-o-rama that is a similar idea.

You can also go for Nath of the Gilt-Leaf or Waste Not! Pretty much OP in your situation. ;)

Well I already have a play set of Wrench Mind in the build. I could go with Liliana's Caress maybe and possibly toss in a Nath of the Gilt-Leaf, though the chances of me actually reaching 5 mana is slim. I'll test the current build out first before I make any changes. But thanks for the suggestions. I don't feel I need Despise with all the other 1 CC discard I already have and if I went that route I'd likely go for a play set of Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek

Pack Rat + Mutavault is an option

I use Nezumi Shortfang in my 8-rack deck. It's a great 2-drop discard engine. Once you've emptied their hand, it becomes 9-rack.

8-Rack Extended for reference if you're interested.

-2 Leyline of the Void -2 Swamp + 2 Bojuka Bog (MB) Bog is great with Pox & Loam. +2 empty slots on your SB. (I'd fill them with Infernal Tutor

Consider using Extirpate instead of Surgical Extraction. Extirpate can make any of your other spells essentially uncounterable in addition to the Surgical Extraction utility.

I'd make some MB space for copies of The Rack 7 and 8. Probably -1 Sign in Blood and -1 Blackmail. If u do wanna keep Sign in Blood then consider upgrading it to Phyrexian Arena instead?

Dakmor Salvage is better than Life from the Loam since you can stay mono-black.

Creatures don't work well with smallpox or the main boarded ensnaring bridge, so all those suggestions I totally disagree with. Even if you are using a creature for an ability I still would not. The opponent is going to have all their removal game1 expecting more fair cards, the few creatures 8rack might run, would just bite the dust too fast.

Life from the loam is also better than a come in tapped land. The synergy with it here, is to get back 1-3 lands so you can retrace raven's crime. I think you would be correct with the bojuka bog being a nice option.

Made a few adjustments to the deck, actually going to get to play it later today. Shall see how it works and will let everyone know how it did.

The deck performed very well today. I won 2 of 3 rounds.

The first round I lost to Affinity. Both matches of this round came down to a 1 turn clock, unfortunately was unable to deal with his win con quickly enough due to not having a forest to cast Abrupt Decay on his win con. I went 0-2 in this round.

The second round I played against Tokens and effectively kept it under control. I went 2-1 in this round.

The final round I played against a Enchantment/Aura deck and went 2-0

Worm Harvest could be a possible wincon

In my experience as an 8 rack player, you need iok and thought seize to be 4 of to strip your opponent of their important cards first so that you have more time to get them hellbent. Also, Dakmor Salvage might fit in better than loam.

My deck is actually trying to rely more on Raven's Crime and Life from the Loam combo which is why I don't rely heavily on Thoughtseize or Inquisition of Kozilek, and also why I don't have Dakmor Salvage. I might try it sometime though.

I don't like the dakmor salvage in these lists. What it does it gives you a land to pitch to discard 1 card with retrace. If it was a discard spell you drew it would've done the same thing but better since most discard gives some choice. I like the loam engine of raven's crime multiple times in a turn better. Plus these days Thoughtseize is quite painful. Moving forward it will be hard to tell what are the best decks but tron would probably be one of them.

Ghost Quarter and life from the Loam is also a horrible combo to lock people out of colors and defeats tron which is by far our hardest matchups and gw wilt leaf
