I am recreating my planeswalker deck with slightly new design objectives. I have been trying to make an effective (yet not bank breaking with original dual lands) five color superfriends deck for quite some time. I have had a large number of versions of this deck, and anticipate it will continue to change through-out the years. Going forward I will track my changes here so that it is possible to look back and see how the deck has changed.

These are my design objective's:

1. The focus of the deck is the planeswalkers as a core for gameplay and wincon's.
2. All non-planeswalker cards should support the planeswalkers in some way.
3. Removing any creatures or spells that don't help the planeswalkers or progress victory through the planeswalkers.
4. My playgroup frowns on tutors. Unless it is a fetch land most deck searching is to be avoided. This is to help ensure unique repeat play experiences. Therefor the deck needs consistency without tutors.

Following these objectives I have decided that I will categorize all of the cards in the deck based on why the cards are in the deck. Although I might have a few one off cards that don't cleanly fit in these categories, all non-land cards should fill one of these gameplay objective's:

1. Removal
2. Ramp
3. Protection
4. CreatureGeneration
5. PlaneswalkerSynergy
6. IncreaseLoyalty
7. CardAdvantage
8. Tempo
9. RecursionCardPlayTricks

In an ideal world I would have 7 cards in each of the above 9 categories. What some call the 7 of 9 rule. As things shift over time I no longer have exactly 7 in each category, however as long as this deck can consistently deliver on the promise of fun planeswalker shenanigans I am ok with that.
