Igor Gorbunov's Red Burn [GP Moscow '14 Winner]

Standard RW (Boros)

Sideboard

Red burn deck that won Grand Prix Moscow recently. Obviously not mine, as I am not Igor.

Beat a top 8 and top 16 full of multicolored midrange decks, some UW or UWx control decks, and monoblack aggro or control decks, with some devotion decks too.

This deck is fast. Multiple Boros charms makes it capable to win on turn four, wins consistently on turn 5, and tops out usually at turn 6. Problem is, with the Phoenixes and Pryomancers, it can win longer games, so even if you get them to turn 8 or later, they can still win. The guy actually won the tournament by topdecking a a Helix.

Altogether, I think this is the best deck in standard, and not just because it won the tournament. It's too fast for midrange decks, and way too fast for control decks. It'll lose some key pieces to rotation in a few months, but it' still pretty strong. What makes it so good, too, is that the deck isn't very expensive to build. The rare lands are where most of the money goes to, but you could get by without them, particularly the off-color ones. As long as you can get the Phoenixes, all the burn and other creatures are commons and uncommons. So I think you'll see a lot of them for this reason too.

Help me beat this deck.
