Great deck. I've been play testing against this a lot.
LOVE the splash of Green.

I've used this last night in my LGS. It became a prey because my meta was heavy with Aggro. Went 0-3.
Round 1 (vs G/W Megamorph)Game 1: They have a main board Dromoka's Command. When they saw the Sphinx's Tutelage they went wide. I wasn't able to stabilize in time.Game 2: I was able to stall the game with the Savants but when they were able to have their Deathmist Raptor and Den Protector and Ajani, it was game already.
Round 2 (vs Mono-Red Aggro)Eidolon of the Great Revel was dropped in the second turn for both games, which made it difficult to stabilize. I was basically beaten by a Lightning Berserker. A very bad matchup for this deck.
Round 3 (vs G/R Dragons)Game 1: Early ramp had him 3rd turn Thunderbreak Regent, 4th turn Stormbreath Dragon won him the game.Game 2: Post board, nearly won. I had 2 tutelage out and Was able to have 6 triggers thanks to Treasure Cruise, BUT he responded with activatingBow of Nylea and returned his fetches at the bottom of his library, not causing him to mill out.
Extra playtest (vs Boss Sligh)Won 2 games out of 5.The games that I won was due to my opponent stuck with 2 lands and couldn't flood the board. I was also able to Languish in one of the games. In the 2nd game that I won, I was able to destroy my Savant enchanted with Fruit with 2 Tutelage in play for 12 triggers which was GG for him.
So basically, I think against Midrange and Control decks, this has good chance, but in a meta with a lot of aggro, choose a different deck to use.

Why would you make a Post-Rotation deck when the new set isn't even out yet? Doesn't rotate for a month ;)
P.S. Love the deck though.

Lots of comments recently. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to look at my deck and play test!
@ItsNavi: I've added Living Lore to my Maybe Board. Very cool card, and works well for some of my expensive spells like Cut and Cruise.
@Astrosaver: Only thing about Altar of the Brood is that I don't lay down that many permanents to the board. So that card won't add as much to my play for whatever I get rid of to play it. I've seen several decks play the pretty good land tutor spells. I'm not sure it works in my deck, but I'll add to my Maybe Board.
@ozymandais13: Happy you like it! Feel free to comment with a link to the budget of this deck. Would love to see it.
@Ertl: Good deck! You got my UPVOTE!
@K00IDudE1: When the next expansion comes out, and it if has some really good white, I don't mind changing things up and going with white instead of green. But at this point, I am not adding any more colors! Good card, though.
@nakapagtataka: Did you use the sideboard? I knew that this deck would be weak against aggro, so I built a sideboard to deal with that, in various situations. When I use the sideboard, my win rate against aggro decks increases to about 50/50. And even then, only very quick aggro works. And only if I don't have good counter spells in my starting hand. I'll be testing this out this Friday at FNM. From what I hear, my meta is heavy aggro as well. I'll be reporting on that probably Saturday. More then!
@CorruptWombat: Basically, I don't see the point in investing in cards for a month. I'll be looking at all of the Zendikar cards to see what changes I want to make to the deck. But for now, I just want to make a deck that'll last longer than a month!

Are you running into a lot of burn and destroy spells? I mostly run up against a lot of token heavy decks at my LGS, and find that spells like Hydrolash can make their attackers useless, while Bone to Ash works to keep their heavy hitters off the battlefield, while throwing in the bonus of another card draw. I love the concept, I'm trying to make something similar work myself, so I'll keep following along!!!

Anticipate rather than Taigam's Scheming would be more efficient.

@spicy_gato
Yeah, I did sideboard. I boarded in Displacement Wave and Despise oddly enough, It didn't help the matchup, perhaps I just didn't draw them in time? Some of the players commented on the deck. They told to have more removal spells i.e. Bile Blight or Ultimate Price and I told them I was trying to make work a deck ready for rotation. Also, I forgot to mention. In 2 of the games that I lost to. GW Megamorph and Mono Red, both of them where able to cast and resolve a Planeswalker, which I've noticed is also a weak point of this deck.
How was your games btw?
August 29, 2015 7:35 p.m.
Amazing Deck! I have played many games with my friends (around 20) and I have lost only 4 times.
August 31, 2015 1:18 a.m.
I really like this deck and I might change my one based around it.

@AshSewell
My only recommendation is to take out the green. It doesn't really do much to help the milling except Sultai Charm which you can change for maybe Mind Sculpt?

@thecoutu: I haven't hit many burn or removal decks. Mainly aggro and counter decks. But my sideboard has been doing very well against these decks.
@Thehyperduck: Only reason I wouldn't go with Anticipate is that I want to put cards in my graveyard so I can more easily delve. I can't tell you how many times a well-placed Murderous Cut has helped me win a game!
@nakapagtataka: Hmmm... Well, I know that Infinite Obliteration has done wonders for me. Round 3 and I exile their win-con. But I should be doing a bunch of match ups tomorrow with some aggro and token decks and will have more to report then!
@Cole6000: Thanks! I'm glad the deck is playing so well for you! I'm hoping to take it to FNM very soon. These last couple of weeks haven't worked out, sadly. What's your local meta like?
@AshSewell: Nice deck! UPVOTE. Only comment: I think you need more board wipes. You have plenty of destroy, but if you are running against an aggro deck, taking them down one by one won't be good enough.
@AshSewell & @Cole6000: Personally, I like the green. Sultai Charm is one of a handful of cards that can play against Gaea's Revenge and everyone is using that card! Plus, I have a feeling that Zendikar is going to have some kick ass green that will make it worthwhile to keep that splash. My thoughts.
August 31, 2015 6:03 p.m.
Cole6000 & spicy_gato12 I was considering taking out the green but I kept it for a couple of reasons. Sphinx's Tutelage really needs card draw to work well and I am already lacking that. Sultai Charm has enchantment/artifact removal and U/R artifacts is very popular in my local meta. I don't know yet though I might just replace them with Languish.

Can Clash of Wills be cast and counter a spell for just the one U and not pay anything for X?
September 1, 2015 9:32 p.m.
theoceantide Yes you can but it is pointless because they have to pay 0 mana for it not to counter.

I like that it could be various amounts for them to pay then! +1 on the build!
September 2, 2015 3:49 a.m.
id take out the Taigam's Scheming for a few Dig Through Time
September 2, 2015 7:01 p.m.
Scheming is like his only way to get fuel in the yard for his delve cards....

i've tested the tutelage deck and i have found that temur tutelage is just amazing as well. even with current standard im only losing 4 darksteel citadels and 4 defend the hearths in iti havent really got a big chance on trying it out but it was a fun testing item
September 2, 2015 11:45 p.m.
3-2 against mono red burn 0-1 against U/R thopter
Very very fun deck
September 3, 2015 7:18 a.m.
Hey There! i really like this deck. if i were to make a slightly more budgeted version, though, could i remove the Polluted Delta's for a playset of Evolving Wilds, or even 2x Island and 2x Swamp? or is that just too bad?
September 3, 2015 3:40 p.m.
TheLordStormCrow says... #25
if you want a more budget version of this deck then replacing the Polluted Delta's is a very good way to bring the price down a considerable amount
Astrosaver says... #1
I tried this deck at my FNM and vs another mill deck. It had a card called Altar of the Brood which I think would be great for a quick low cost right away mill away combined with Evolving Wilds which comes out as a permanent they will mill one then search your deck for a land and place on the field and they will mill another. Another great card for this would be Animist's Awakening sure I know you wanted to keep the greens down and sure this is all by chance but it seems right.
