Thanks for the suggestions, exile is definitely great to prevent recursion shenanigans.

man, this deck looks super sweet! i own almost all the cards, though they are in 3+ different decks but i really want to give it a try. those decks are way too competitiveright now anyways so i dont mind to canabalize them :)

Moesis: Glad you liked it! You should definitely give it a go, I had a blast piloting this deck and it has always been a different play experience.

hey again! i tried out this deck yesterday and it was a blast to play! though i really need to make some adjustments to my meta, as my playgroup is kinda spikey: i really want cards preventing people from winning and forcing my stuff through their interaction like FoW, blue pact, red ele blast/pyroblast. also my meta runs a lot of generic hate like rest in peace, gaddock teeg, rule of law effects etc so Swords to P., nature's claim, natural state etc is really important. also i'd like to either up the artifact mana (mostly LED, as stuff in our GY isnt bad with cards like gitrog/life from the loam/crucible etc. maybe I'd even include mana crypt, grim monolith, etc just for its explosiveness). the other direction i'd like to mention is including stony silence and null rod instead since it doesnt affect us at all and completely annhilates cirtain decks, while crippling most decks. those 2 are very powerful if you dont run many artifacts :) also i cut some lands down to 40ish and included fetchlands as they are SO powerful in our deck! drawing cards with gitrog, extra lands for loam, crucible etc. if you have 'em, use 'em! :D i'll keep exploring the deck and tuning it to my different LGS metas. you did a great job, thx fpr this awesome build!
PS: gamble is also a very nice tutor in our deck! my first tutor usually goes for loam anyway, so its close to entomb on my scale of best tutors in the deck (entomb being by far the best in the early turns)

Moesis: Nice suggestion for Gamble...I've cut a forest for it. It seems like your meta is a more competitive than mine, my build definitely would have a hard time against fast combo decks. Would be interested to see your list if you have one.

I’m really liking how your deck looks, was wondering however if you had considered cards like Dualcaster Mage to Combo off with Ghostly Flicker and insta-Scapeshift your gates into play; or even Deadeye Navigator + Palinchron to net infinite mana and dump your deck into play with Golos’ Second ability?
I had fiddled around with an Astral Drift list (was goingh to name it “Land Slide” hue hue) to flicker Golos; but I like how utilitarian your list looks in comparison.
June 18, 2019 11:15 p.m.
Drazatis: Hey thanks for your suggestions. Golos is such a versatile lands commander that there is really so many ways you can go about building it. Palinchron + DEN combo did come across my mind but I decided against it since I had similar combos in my other deck and they really doesn't contribute to my deck main theme in a meaningful way individually. Dualcaster mage is something I would have to think about. I think it's worth a try but the double red may be a little tough with how my mana base is set up. Feel free to post your list if you have one up, I'll check it out.

Hello,
Way to get on this guy the second he was spoiled!
I also have a Child of Alara / Maze's End deck I will be looking to transition into a Golos, Tireless Pilgrim deck.
I saw in your after note the mention of blink which I think will be the direct that I go. My version is not intended to be competitive just a fun deck to play. I'm liking the idea of Astral Slide / Astral Drift especially. Then we can run the 15 non desert Cycle lands and a few of the best cycling cards. Very much in the brewing stages at this point but, could be a janky good time.
June 20, 2019 5:44 p.m.
Daddy_Kaos: I've actually tested out Astral Drift and it's pretty mediocre in a guildgates build because I have to run a density of cycle lands/cards to take advantage of it. This means that running both strategies together would force me to run mostly tapped lands which is way to slow in my meta. I think a dedicated astral drift build can be achieved by taking out the guildgates/ Maze's End win condition and is essentially a completely different build as mine. Very cool idea and I would love to see people try out on.

I agree that Astral Drift and Astral Slide will not make for the fastest deck and that's totally OK with me. I can't really tone down my abitily when sitting down to play a game of EDH so, in order to play with new players or budget decks, I want to intentional have a deck that will take a while to win but, it still fun to play.
That being said here is what I threw together Golos, Pilgrim of the Maze.
Thoughts and feedback are appreciated.

I imagine Blood Moon , Back to Basics , and the like can be quite troubling for you. Have you considered cards removal in the form of Nature's Claim and Natural State to take care of those?

Nice list, I was thinking about brewing around this guy but was going to look at his other ability as general wincon with some funny other 5 colour shenanigans.
+1
June 22, 2019 7:32 a.m.
Dango: Those hate cards are not really common in my playgroup and LGS but I do have Chromatic Lantern / Fellwar Stone / Beast Within to tackle it. Also, Golos can tutor for any lands so I would be aggressively tutoring for basics till I find any of my answers. If they become more common, I would probably add Nature's Claim as an additional insurance.

Lovely build. Looks really fun! +1 from me. One small improvement you could make is to replace half of your forests and islands for snow-covered ones to bring Field of the Dead online faster. You might also be running enough ETB and landfall abilities to consider Yarok, the Desecrated . Have you thought of including that?
June 23, 2019 7:59 a.m.
Beebles: That is a great suggestion regarding snow lands. I've contemplated Yarok, the Desecrated but ultimately decided not to include it in my deck. The reason is because it is 5cmc which competes with Bolos, it doesn't immediately generate value, I do not have many etb effects to abuse it with, and it will probably be more of a dead draw in most scenarios.

I am making the same change to my baby, Land, Go who was also at the helm of Child Of Alara. I've made the same switch and have been doing a LOT of research in regards to his ability in combination with lands that matter.
I've come across and interesting land card I think you may be interested in, as was I: Safe Haven
Synergizes very well with Golos himself and has a relevant ability. With all of the abilities of being able to return lands from our graveyard, the second half seems negotiable.
What are your thoughts?
June 23, 2019 4:35 p.m.
Brewport_Games: That's a fantastic card IMHO and I'm seriously debating replacing Soulherder with it since I don't really have many etb creatures to abuse with. Thanks for suggesting that card!

How does the interaction with Safe Haven and Golos work exactly?(Sorry to interrupt).
June 23, 2019 8:33 p.m.
WarSpaniel: It triggers Golos etb effect. Simply activate safe haven at opponent's endstep to exile Golos and sacrifice it at your upkeep to return Golos back to play which will be able to tutor for another land. With crucible of worlds in play you can do it every turn.

EnralI just bought a foil one myself. Only a buck too. Couldn't pass it up.
I never knew the card existed until now. You can use it to save your best creature too in a board wipe which is great. Blink an Avenger or an e-wit. It's slower than just casting ghostly flicker, sure, but in a lands deck with a commander that searches for a combo piece basically.. Shesh, can't pass that up.
As for soulhearder I wasn't super thrilled with it. Easy to remove and it's just a big dumb idiot most of the times. Seb art is fire though haha.
Hopefully I can continue to share some great finds in our tireless journey to mazes end!

Hi there! I love the deck and I've been playing around with brewing something for Golos as well! I was wondering if there is a particular reason why fetchlands are missing. Is it because you really want the different utility lands? The same goes for (for example) the shock-duals or OG duals. I myself included everyone I owned next to the gates, inclusding a Volcanic Island and Tundra , with thespian, maze's end and the Dark Depths and still had room for 5 more (36 land).
Hope you can help here :-) Definitely giving this a +1

Annexus Obviously I am not Enral but, I know for my list, its not just about using fetches and duals to get the colors you need, its about searching for your silver bullets to punish everyone else's play. Graveyard deck going off? Search Bojuka Bog . Overwhelmed with creatures attacking or afraid a spellslinger is going to fireball you for lethal? Grab up a Glacial Chasm . Getting buried by a big mana black deck with Cabal Coffers ? Grab up a Strip Mine .
Cascading Cataracts can help you with all of your colored mana needs, so having every fetch, dual, and shock isn't necessarily the most important thing in this deck. It's a lands matter deck more so than a 5 color good stuff.
I may be completely wrong as this is Enral's list and not my own, but we have very similar lists it seems.

Hi Annexus, Brewport_Games is absolutely correct. Also note that I'm running numerous mana rocks to accelerate into Golos (which is colorless). His colorless requirements essentially allow me to have a cheaper and more toolbox mana base since I can tutor for any lands I need depending on the draw and what's in play. I only need one fetchland ( Prismatic Vista ) which can be easily tutored with Golos since I'm running a high amount of basics. Obviously having dual lands help with the consistency but I haven't had much trouble with mana fixing from goldfishing due to Golos land tutor ability. Hope that helps!

You could use some spot removal that's a bit more permanent, maybe a Path to Exile or Hero's Downfall, maybe some sac outlets to kill child of alara and wipe the board at will
