krustykashew the problem I see with that is that saving one of your things only gives you a small jump on your opponents, unless your running some eldrazi's in there. Even then, removal is a thing that people run and could use anything to get rid of your creature before you get the chance to do much with it.

How about Frost Titan , Primeval Titan , Craterhoof Behemoth , and Seedborn Muse ? All of those cards are pretty self-explanatory plus they have a lot of synergy with the cards in your deck with their ETB effects and untapping.

Primeval Titan is banned in EDH, but I have added the rest of your suggestions to my maybeboard and I'll consider them. Thanks!

How is your deck playing out these days? What are you finding you are having trouble with?

Emarean, I find that I have a weakness in 1v1 to aggressive decks, especially voltron style decks that are able to prevent me from blinking their general with shroud or hexproof. My friend's Prossh, Skyraider of Kher deck is good at this. In multiplayer, though, my biggest problem seems to be getting targeted. People know how much value Roon and Bant in general can generate, so they tend to kill off my general until he is uncastable. Generally, though, I think this deck has been doing remarkably well. There is so much value in blinking creatures, and if I can make the game go past the first 7 turns or so, I almost always win.

Evacuation is a helpful card as it allows you to functionally reset the board when a lot of threats are coming towards you. You can also recast them for additional benefits. Kruphix, God of Horizons , Venser's Journal , or Reliquary Tower would help you deal with using evacuation. The journal also helps against heavy aggro as it allows you to stall long enough to get a winning piece on the board.

The only thing i could think of for 1v1 is playing more mass removal another option would be to play some creature with semi big butts like Wall of Blossoms . Hopefully that would cut down on the number of little guys hitting you until you can get your removal or big fatties out. Another option would be to cut a few of the big fatties and put in more little guys and some anthem effects Cathars' Crusade is one i use and i love it. i also use Mirari's Wake which also puts in work. I love that it gives +1+1 and doubles all of my mana so i can play more spells and creatures a turn, or bounce a ton of creatures in a turn.

A card i notice you are not playing is Mistmeadow Witch Yes his ability cost 4 but it does not tap and you can target Roon to save him if he is out.

For 1v1 you should consider adding Stonehorn Dignitary because he says you cant attack me ever again. you can also consider playing Swiftfoot Boots its another pair of boots to protect something you have that is important to you.

here is my list again so you can see how i built my Roon deck Flicker Rhino's . I am considering making some changes soon. one of which is adding the newly spoiled conspiracy card Breigo, King of Eternity. Which is just awesome in a flicker deck.

As for cuts i would consider cutting Venser, Shaper Savant because you can really only use his ability once. all of the flicker effects you have make him come in at the end of turn so he is not be best creature to have. I would replace him with another cheap creature or maybe something like Hinder that way you have the option to tuck a gen if you need to.

i really cant make too many suggestions on what to take out because i dont know your play group.

Training Grounds and Heartstone are also very useful as they allow you to cheapen the expenditure that you need to flicker creatures.

I really like Minion Reflector with ETB-effects: for just 2 mana you get an additional ETB-effect and a good combo with Nevermaker and Reveillark as well. If you have the time, take a look at my take on Roon here: Blink blink, nudge nudge.

Gilded drake and mimic vat, two cards I didn't know I needed until now...

Tolaria West could be a good land to add to your lands. It allows you to search for 0 cost artifacts or Lands that you may need like a Reliquary Tower or a Minamo, School at Water's Edge .

AEther Adept might help you to slow down aggro decks. Though it's not a well-known card, Thran Turbine can let you activate your general once per turn without paying the mana cost. I prefer Survival of the Fittest over Fauna Shaman , although I actually run both in one deck. Glen Elendra Archmage doesn't seen to fit your build exactly. If you're worried about other generals, you can always go the tuck route with cards like Unexpectedly Absent and Oblation .

If it seems like your deck is a bit slow, you may want to consider more artifact acceleration like Basalt Monolith , Mana Vault , and an assortment of signets and other stuff.

Also, hope that you never play against the Hushwing Griffin that they just spoiled for M15 ;)

couple thing's i've added too mine that you might want to try, Terastodon , Swiftfoot Boots as shroud stops you targeting the creature for blinking, Djinn of Infinite Deceits good thing here is you can exchange control of one of your creatures and an opponents then blink the one you gave them for it to come back under your control end of turn since you're the owner. Luminate Primordial offers pretty solid removal, Realm Seekers from conspiracy will offer great ramp and can get pretty huge in multiplayer, Sunblast Angel potential wrath.

Sakashima the Impostor is a pretty unique clone in that she get's around the legendary rule since she keeps her name, Chancellor of the Spires is always good for pinching spells especially when you need to wrath but the only one's available are in graveyards. also i've gone for some life gain with Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and Angelic Chorus .

What are your thoughts on Phyrexian Ingester ?

July 25, 2014 11:14 a.m.

TheFanatic says... #20

I actually really like the card. In fact, I think I suggested it on your Phyrexia-themed build. It's better in my meta than Luminate Primordial because one of my main opponents runs Animar, Soul of Elements . I did recently obtain a foil Ingester, the problem is finding a spot for it since Duplicant does pretty much the same thing for one mana less.

How has Nephalia Smuggler played?

July 25, 2014 11:32 a.m.

TheFanatic says... #23

MindAblaze!, Nephalia Smuggler is actually surprisingly good. He lets me blink something the turn before Roon comes out, he can save Roon, and the fact that the targeted creature instantly returns is actually very relevant. This makes it easier to break up combos with him than with Roon, as you get the effect you need immediately.

July 25, 2014 11:42 a.m.

MindAblaze says... #24

That's a good point. I find Venser, Shaper Savant and Mystic Snake aren't as good as they could be because Roon can't bring them back right now to counter stuff. I rely on Mimic Vat after they've died for that.

July 25, 2014 12:26 p.m.

TheFanatic says... #25

@MindAblaze!I used to run Mimic Vat but cut it for Loaming Shaman because graveyard hate is particularly good in my meta. I should probably put it back in, though, as it's a powerful card. I'll find a spot.
