@Indigoindigo The +1 on her planeswalker side seems excellent, but otherwise I'm underwhelmed. Her creature side is pretty awful.

It is, but I think it's cards like Exploration, Burgeoning, Oracle of Mul Daya and possibly Courser of Kruphix will negate the "forest to hand"-downside. Late game it's a better Coiling Oracle, possibly netting you a 2/2 body, fetch a forest + land/card.

Consider adding a Sundial of the Infinite. When something is blinked until the end step and you use Sundial, it stays gone because the end step never happens. I made an Astral Slide deck for casual play that abuses this loophole and now I have no friends...

sheels Thanks for your suggestion, but I used to run Sundial of the Infinite and found it to be both too gimmicky and too narrow in its uses -- really, it's only any good with Roon or Venser in play. I'd like my card choices to be a bit more versatile and all-around powerful.

I would like to recomend Loyal Sentry for this deck because you can blink him with Roon in response to his trigger and he wont die.

I don't know if you are taking suggestions, but I feel like Rhystic Study would help you out with card draw. Great deck!!

@killbobbuilder I have considered Rhystic Study in the past, but I'm just not sure how it really fits into this deck. For one, I have Bane of Progress. This only allows me to run artifacts and enchantments if they are very powerful and I'm sure that they will gain me advantage even if they are only on the board for a short time. I also just wouldn't know what to cut for Rhystic Study, since I feel that this decklist is pretty tight.

Personal preference, but I would take out Palinchron for Rhystic Study and you could always bounce it with Roon if you wanted to play Bane of Progress

@killbobbuilder Two points:

1.) Palinchron is half of the deck's only infinite combo (with Deadeye Navigator), so I can't really cut him.

2.) Unfortunately, Roon of the Hidden Realm can't flicker noncreature permanents so he can't save my things from a Bane of Progress.

That looks like a sweet alter! Who made it and how was it made?

Are there any benefits to running Restoration Angel over Momentary Blink?

ayyy

How did Krosan Grip, Beast Within, and Wipe Away not make the cut? :(

What if you get hit by cruel control, running Torpor Orb -- or Containment Priest

Never hurts to have a variety of removal options. But rly tho deck still looks great, love the inclusion of Tragic Arrogance -- thats just brutal with flicker effects.

Ahh, didn't really pay attention to Roon of the Hidden Realm's ability. Still a great deck.

@Indigoindigo I made the alter myself using photoshop, and I printed it out using a method similar to the one shown here. I have Restoration Angel in the deck rather than Momentary Blink simply because it is a creature. This way, I get another body that I can use to attack/block/recur or tutor for so choose.

@illumfolly Hey, thanks for stopping by. Yeah, Torpor Orb wrecks this deck. I used to have Bant Charm in here, but cut it since I wanted to fit Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip and nobody in my group ran the Orb. Nowadays, however, there are two players who play it. Since this deck can't tutor anything that isn't a creature, I think that the best answer to Torpor Orb is actually Qasali Pridemage, and I will probably add it in here. It's also great with Sun Titan and Reveillark to boot. Containment Priest, on the other hand, isn't such a big problem since I have so many ways of killing it (and Roon can just flicker it temporarily if need be).

How do you feel about the following cards?: Nephalia Smuggler, Ghostaway, Congregation at Dawn, Nevermaker and Riftwing Cloudskate?

October 11, 2015 5:49 p.m.

Indigoindigo says... #16

I'll chime in with my opinions on 2 of the cards:Nephalia Smuggler might be good, but slow compared to Mistmeadow Witch.
Ghostway is already in the deck, and in my experience it's great - absolutely one of the best blink-spells in the deck, and saving your creatures from a sweeper AND reset your ETB-effects is a blowout.

How do you value Mulldrifter vs Slithermuse? I'm thinking the latter might draw more cards and is a decent rattlesnake.

Indigoindigo, I am thinking of taking out Rhystic Study for Slithermuse. What do you think?

The way I read Mulldrifter and Slithermuse is like this: one card says evoke for 3 cast 5 and the other says evoke for 4 cast 4.

If you only cast them for their evoke cost, then they are both the same. If you cast them for their regular cmc then the Mulldrifter would win.

Indigoindigo says... #18

Not sure I agree with that cut since Rhystic Study also taxes every opponent - it's a Lodestone Golem for opponents only, that also draws you cards.

The way I read Mulldrifter is / draw 2.
The way I read Slithermuse is / "don't attack me or I'll draw 1-7". It's a political tool and might draw you more cards. But I haven't playtested it, the drifter might be better.

@Indigoindigo and @obitus: Having tested both in this deck at various points, I am of the opinion that Mulldrifter is better than Slithermuse. For one, Mulldrifter has flying, which is not to be underestimated for blocking purposes. Secondly, and more importantly, Mulldrifter has a much higher floor. That is, you always get two cards no matter what. Slithermuse, on the other hand, depends on what your opponents are doing and can sometimes get you 0-1 cards. I like the certainty and consistency that Mulldrifter provides, so it's going to keep its spot in here for now.

Good point, I did not even think about the situation where Slithermuse would be in effective.

Right now I am cutting my tutors down in size and trying to add more value guys into the deck.

I have a Roon deck. It's pretty similar to this one. One thing I think it's important to point out is that, at least on my version of the deck, I always have plenty of cards in my hand. That makes Slithermuse pretty useless. Mulldrifter is always good.

I miss the Mirror Entity, Reveillark and Body Double combo here. Did you consider using it?

The Roon picture in your list is different from normal? Is that an actual promo and if so where is it from?

November 18, 2015 12:51 p.m.

@bob111634 It is a proxy image that I created myself.

That's really cool. I was hoping it was an actual promo version of the card cause I'm thinking about building a new commander deck and Roon is one of the generals I'm considering
