I realize the list looks confusing, but plays very well despite its huge mana costs, hitting any ultimatum can shift the game and being able to tutor for any missing peices with
Glittering Wish
makes the deck surprisingly consistent at going off.
Turns 1 and 2 is spent Looting or wishing while turn 4 is when the blooms come into play and consistently casting an ultimatum or
Obzedat's Aid
to bring out
Omniscience
. There will be games were you have
Pentad Prism
in your hand to ramp turn 2 into a turn 3
Obzedat's Aid
, but that requires a good Looting and a good opening hand to start
Omniscience
.
From there it's just a matter of wishing for the right card or having the right cards in hand, right away
Conflux
becomes the best tutor in the game fetching you 2
Cruel Ultimatum
, 2×
Glittering Wish
and then 1 more
Conflux
, at this phase you cast out both ultimatum to flush their hand and board, restocking yours and then wish for the other 2 ultimatum in the SB. If your opponent hasn't conceded at this point then it's just a matter of using
Conflux
again to drop
All Suns' Dawn
and restart the process.
In dire times when nothing is set up there's a couple targets for
Wargate
the first being an offensive target when your still well in life and set up for mana with no ultimatum or omniscience,
Narset, Enlightened Master
can cause the deck to trigger off just one swing. Her being hexproof that's almost a guarantee barring they have no counter magic up. The next target is a defensive target,
Phyrexian Unlife
, this is solely to buy you a turn or two, which can mean winning or losing with this deck, sometimes you just need that one extra turn to put things into the game winning scenario. This card fits amazingly well for the job
Even in the worst games I've always managed to cast a
Brilliant Ultimatum
, while its a chance card, it's a chance to turn the game around on the spot, hence why it sits at 3 on the mb.
The deck is super fun and sort of competitive, I've had success against r/g tron, 8 rack, esper control, Naya walkers, jund werewolves, affinity, etc. It's truly an awesome deck to muck about with. Try it out for yourself and see!
(I've had lots of people rage quit on me playing this so be forewarned if your gonna play around online)
