As far as I know you CAN stack emblems, but the rule is still up in the air and Wizards is going to have to make the final call, but for now I believe the consensus is that you can. Which makes Sorin that more Badd@ss.

lol I just can't think of a hand draw in which you don't want a Doomed Traveler :P

Alright alright due to majority opinion 2x Diabolic Tutor is going in in place of a Tribute to Hunger and a Go for the Throat , sorry Strangelove the traveler is staying at three for now =P.

Im just not crazy about the Elder Cathar, im having trouble thinking of a likely situation in which that extra one or two counters on a creature would matter. After all the plan is to usually win with either a 9/9 flying trampler or a beefed up Champion of the Parish so I dont believe this deck has room for a card like him. (over others).

@broodwarjc: a thats good to know, i mean new sorin is great but he would be substantially less in my eyes if i couldent stack his emblem.

Did you take out the demons on accident?

Tappedout is not recognizing the card in my decklist right now for some reason =/

Intangible Virtue anyone suggest that yet?

January 13, 2012 4:41 p.m.

Penumbra says... #7

Wellno but it is not a token deck so it's effectivness is debatable. The deck makes a fair amount of tokens but because it is not the main focus the Intangible Virtue's are not really a good addition because i would need to take out something else more useful.

Yeah, sorry for being excited...and for further clarification

turn one Play Razorverge Thicket tap to produce a GREEN mana and play card:Avacyn's PilgrimTurn two: Play a plains, tap said plains to put in a Champion of the Parish then tap the card:Avacyn's Pilgrim and the Razorverge Thicket to play any human that costs double plains.

I was just advocating the strength of green ramp in standard now and all the morbid effects it has. This deck is mostly stuff dying, why not get a little extra here and there where you can.

And Idk about you guys, but in my meta, having zero card drawing ability and weenies that don't serve a purpose until turn 5 is usually game over. And on top of that, it is IF the demon even gets to resolve, before he's manaleak'd (then you have to wait until turn 8 to play him), or o-ring'd before he even gets a chance to attack. Not to mention, nearly all of the deck gets evaporated by Ratchet Bomb .

I still like the deck, I merely wanted to say that it can't be so blunt as drop a human, and hope your tokens and Champion of the Parish survive 3 turns so you can attack with nonlethal turn 6.

On the subject of control, perhaps Onyx Mage and one Doomed Traveler .

January 13, 2012 8:01 p.m.

broodwarjc says... #10

No Thalia (I was wondering when someone would suggest her)he wants to be able to cast his token producing spells and Sorin, Thalia would make Sorin cost 5 and Increasing Devotion 6. It would slow down control decks, but not other Aggro decks and it would slow his deck down which, while it does lean towards aggro, has a control side to it.

He sed the website glitched and the demon got taken out, but he will add it again once it works

January 14, 2012 12:28 p.m.

Penumbra says... #13

Alright yea I thought at first that Thalia would be good but the token producing spells are very important so I guess thats out. A hardcore control deck would of course take this out, especially permission but there is not a whole lot I can do about that. Green ramp i pretty good right now, Im just thinking if the dilution of another color would really be worth what It could offer. I could do something like this.

Id also be adding Fresh Meat to the sideboard if i went that route.

I have 4 Woodland Cemetery s to use with land and a Razorverge Thicket as well. But I dont think anything other then the Priests are really expendable. What does everyone else think about a tricolor change, would it be really worth it?

Otherwise the tokens im creating are not useless. There are alot of them and they become death blockers with Onyx Mage on the field. Im far from screwed if someone counters or kills my first demon, with Unburial Rites they would need three counters or kill spells just to take care of that one demon. Sorin is also a threat out on turn 4 and can turn all my tokens into fairly dangerous attackers as well as give me a bit of a life boost. With so many blockers hes a great pain to get rid of without some burn. Anyway so that would be my argument for not changing it but I would like to here others opinions as well.

Alright it made a bulleted list instead... i would remove the top three cards mentioned and add the bottom two.

January 14, 2012 1:50 p.m.

Roirboya says... #15

I really don't like the idea of three colors, i mean ramp is good, but you don't need it when the most expensive things in the deck are 5 cmc. Tri-color isn't super helpful either when you have several that take 2 mana of one color (demon, doomsayer, devotion, etc.) I would just leave as is now, maybe tweak the numbers a bit, then wait for DA to playtest it. Good luck man.

If your already running the sac and in look for draw why don't you use card:Altar's Reap to activate morbid abilities and it lets you draw two.

What no Doom Blade ?

January 15, 2012 10:22 a.m.

Penumbra says... #18

Go for the Throat almost always is better then Doom Blade

Yea Id like to run card:Altar's Reap Its just a matter of taking things out to use that. Not a whole lot of room.

And thanks Roirboya im attached to the deck like it is and agree with you.

January 15, 2012 1:57 p.m.

cronisloire says... #19

To help thin the deck i say remove the Onyx Mage 's and the Diabolic Tutor 's for the card:Altar's Reap and i also suggest Shimmering Grotto so you have access to make green so you can flashback Ray of Revelation Since enchantments are big in the innistrad block.

January 15, 2012 2:11 p.m.

Penumbra says... #20

Ahh yes they ray was a left over from when this was a tricolor deck with green. I suppose I could take out the mages but I ve had several people suggest the tutor as a good idea. You think shimmering grotto is a good idea? otherwise i have 4 Woodland Cemeteries.

January 15, 2012 3:03 p.m.

broodwarjc says... #21

I would take out the Onyx Mage and the tutor for card:Altar's Reap, because the number of tokens your deck can pump out is pretty good and the extra draw is really good. The tutor is expensive and takes up too much room (IMO) and the mage really only helps your tokens, because the Ravenous Demon and Champion of the Parish are going to be powerful enough on their own. In fact if you want the champion to be a better finisher you could try to fit in two Angelic Destiny .

January 15, 2012 6:37 p.m.

broodwarjc says... #22

Actually thinking about even more I really like Angelic Destiny in this deck, because you can put in on the Champion of the Parish for evasion, you can put it on any of your tokens to buff them up and if the token dies or is sacrificed the enchantment goes right back to your hand and having a 13/13, Flying, Trample, First Strike, "Angel Demon" is wicked. So in the end I would:-2 Diabolic Tutor-2 Onyx Mage+2 Altar's Reap+2 Angelic Destiny

January 15, 2012 6:48 p.m.

Penumbra says... #23

Alright works for me I guess. In my casual games I like to refrain from angelic destiny cause my play group considers it cheap =P. But I want this to be competetive.

akeeney says... #24

Perhaps you could now replace the Onyx mages now with the new B/W utility? Although with only one duel, this deck doesnt love colorless land, deathtouch and lifelink to everything is pretty dang awesome.

2x vault of the archangel would do nicely here.
