AS LONG AS THERE ARE FAIR DECKS IN MODERN, I WILL MAKE ROCK.

Another attempt at a favorite archetype of mine: Rock. This time around I'm utilizing the new card Oath of Nissa.

Straight BG is my favorite build, though I own Jund and Abzan as well.

The core idea came upon me when looking over several other iterations of Rock, Jund, and even Abzan. An important thing to remember: these midrange decks are attrition based and their natural instinct is to FAVORABLY trade resources with the opponent until they can turn the corner. The fact that Abzan has the protective splash of and Jund has reach and flexible removal rolled into one with the likes of Lightning Bolt and major 2-for1 opportunities with Kolaghan's Command, the Rock shell has nothing going for it in this current meta. I'd like to change that...

Along with several tweaks at this moment the deck is essentially a dry run to bolster Rock's weak points in order to make it more competitive. Some of these cards I believe might help give the build more value:

Oath of Nissa, welcome card filtering and ramp.

Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, a lifelink 4 drop that can do well against CoCo builds.

Hissing Quagmire: A Rock manland? Albeit it isn't saying much, colors are more stable at least.

Currently, I am testing this online. As is true with all my brews, they are strictly for fun but can be used in a competitive setting as well.
