I played this deck in the FNM recently, and I was very satisfied, I placed in the top 8.
First game- 2/0 Facing R/G/B, I didn't encounter the slightest resistance in this game, I just played wat I could, evolving and dominating the field.
Second Game- 2/1 facing W/B, I lost one game by drawing only islands, holding on to my green mana dorks and gold cards, otherwise, like the first game, I dominated the fields, leaving no threat from them due to my Prophet of Kruphix
3rd game- 0/2 G/R, I lost both rounds by a mile, my friend was running a gruul deck, finely tuned, and finely calculated, huge ramp, high creatures, land destruction. I had no chance on this match, I knew I had lost. He can kill me off before I can get to 5 mana, which is where the deck starts to kick in.
4th game- 0/2, I faced a red deck wins template. Focusing on haste with Rakdos Cackler and cards like Fanatic of Mogis and Burning-Tree Emissary . Again, I was killed before I could get he mana I required, and when I got something out, it was killed before I could use the mechanics I wanted.
Overall, I was satisfied with it, the first time a few weeks ago when I had tossed this deck together, it bombed at 1/8. I had none of my cards I do now, and after many play tests, it has been improving. I need to replace all my islands with dual lands, as I only have 2 true blue drop cards(Cloudfin Raptor ). So, next week, i'll run it again, with my lands and maybe a few new creatures in here, and hope for even better results. I want to improve upon my early game ramp and survivability, as that is my only real downfall here with this deck.
Always open to opinions and any help and thoughts on what to do with this

So far, the latest update to my deck, all Island have been replaced by dual lands(Temple of Mystery , Breeding Pool , Simic Guildgate )), seeing as I only run 2 mono blue cards, and I had mostly problems getting green mana. Deck is focused on low creatures swarming to become huge monsters in less than 3 turns. Renegade Krasis , Master Biomancer , Prophet of Kruphix and Vorel of the Hull Clade are great cards, huge components in this deck. the Master Biomancer and Progenitor Mimic combo is amazing, creating infintly increasing monsters, making your measly 0/1 Cloudfin Raptor into a possible 100/101 with no problems. The only problem is facing a red burn deck, they can eliminate me before I can get my mana running, I cannot think of anything to counter them at the moment. any ideas?

I am a huge fan of the simic. I'll make some suggestions after playtesting against my deck Golgari Counterspam

Nice to see someone doing a simic evolve deck, one of my favourites, just a general suggestion, look at your creature base and make it 3of's and playsets, not a whole bunch of different 2of's, will improve the consistency of it.
Bred for the Hunt instead of Urban Evolution
I'd also consider cutting Nimbus Swimmer and Vastwood Hydra , increase your number of instants, more Simic Charm or counters like Syncopate or Spell Rupture if your evolve is really fast.
I'm no expert, but I kind of think the key to successful evolve is to stop opponents disrupting your board state, so that = counters.
You can check out my deck and feel free to comment Evolution Revolution (Post Rotation)

I would absolutely cut down on things and find what you need to add more of. Make playsets of your creatures you want to see every game.
I have a competitive evolve deck that you could use for ideas. Kalonian Evolution

Only reason they are 2 of is because I haven't been able to get my hands on them, I would love a few more of these cards xD And thank you for the suggestions Wainwright and Drfrozenfire i'll consider them :)

Looks pretty good. I've found that having more of the same creatures helps my deck better Elusive Simic But mine is still a work in progress. Need some better play testing decks to go against it.

Nylea, God of the Hunt over Crowned Ceratok . Same cost, way better effects. Personally I'd also cut Nimbus Swimmer and play 4x Cloudfin Raptor .

It needs work. Very slow. My WU Heroic deck had a 5/6 unblockable, flying, lifelinking favored hoplite and a 6/6 unblockable battlewise hoplite by turn 6 and all your deck could muster was a 4/3 renegade krasis evolved once and a crowned ceratok. you should go up to four cloudfin raptor for sure and then look at 4x Experiment One.

Hope to see how it comes about. I am trying a Simic deck similar to it as well

I'm curious how you used Simic Charm on a Mistcutter Hydra to pump it. What voodoo magic did you utilize to overcome his protection from blue?

@RamboJesus ehh, neither of us caught it, oh well, too late now

Incase you don't know... Horizon Chimera in a Simic deck that utilizes draw mechanics is so bonkers good. I cannot stress enough the shear frustration this card caused my opponents through 6 rounds of FNM.
Opponents don't want to waste removal on it because they don't find it threatening. Then it sticks for two turns and they want it out of their sight. With it turning every draw including the normal turn draws in to mini revelation spells.
Get it to stick. Bestow it with a Boon Satyr
. Add some draw. You won't be disappointed.

Read through you FNM recap and I think you and your opponent missed the fact that Simic Charm can't target Mistcutter Hydra because of protection from blue in your game 3 match up with MUD. Anyways overall good deck. +1

+1'd because I enjoy decks like these where you just trample your opponent's defenses
January 19, 2014 9:37 p.m.
Stemii, I've actually done fairly comical things with a Horizon Chimera (or two) on the board, then dropping a Prime Speaker Zegana followed by a Voracious Wurm .
I wouldn't necessarily build around it (expensive and situational), but I got a good laugh at the reaction.
January 22, 2014 2:50 p.m.
How good is Plasm Capture in this build? I love simic and counters but I've never put much thought into it.
Keep brewing!

@Ezrius sounds fun, but i'd need more Prime Speaker Zegana for it to work for me.
@Zicca21 It isn't bad, the only downside it the 2u/2g. it's a great mana fixer/counter though. But I am considereing replacing it with cards such as Syncopate /Dissolve /Spell Rupture
Down at my play area, there are a lot of weeny decks, then there are a a few control decks, and a few mismatched ones. I can beat all but the controls. When it comes to Elspeth, Sun's Champion , I seem to have trouble getting her off the field.
I'd love suggestions on how to improve this deck even more
January 23, 2014 2:43 p.m.
How did you use Simic Charm on the Mistcutter Hydra , it has pro blue so you shouldnt have been able to give it the 3 counters, and why dont you think that Plasm Capture is any good, it a good mana acceleration and a counter spell?
January 30, 2014 12:04 p.m.
adventfaith says... #23
@nickd1979 already realized that, but neither of us realized what I had played. So i accidentally snuck that one in. As for Plasm Capture it is a great counter spell, but it has a higher cost, where I could use Spell Rupture in place of it. not a mana fixer, but can be a somewhat cheaper mana costing card.
I'm going to try both in the deck, see what one I like more. This deck needs some counter spells and answers to spells played
January 30, 2014 12:58 p.m.
Lucky on that one, yeah give them both a try, Plasm Capture is on the expensive side

SHORT FORM suggestions:
Bred for the Hunt
swap for Fathom Mage
... (2 reasons why explained below, 3rd at very end of this comment). Add +1 Nyx, Shrine -1 Gate/Temple (see below also) , More GREEN DEVOTION... main deck gets Krasis (Awesome card) and possible Tusker, and side board couldfin and prime speaker (I know she is 2 green devotion, but tusker is cheaper devotion)... Savage Summoning
and side board Bow of Nylea
......... if you do that above -1 Simic Charm
and +1 Garruk, Caller of Beasts
... your at 28 creatures... -3 Garruk and evolve the Krasis somehow!
Basically what I am suggesting here... A bigger haste and Pro-Blue Mistcutter Hydra is better, and you do have x4 Mistcutter's.... He just wants Trample.
LONG FORM AND explained:
1. Bred/Fathom .... you have basically 10-12 creatures that will attack at its first chance.... and if you also consider that "Biomancer" is not there to attack (you want his ability) I count 13 -15 that most likely will not attack... "poukaroo" is the debatable attacker (10-12, 13-15), you need lots of mana until you want him to "Go Monsterous" he may not attack for a turn or 2. The odds are better that your creatures do not attack. Slightly! (sorry if this did use a big font, not sure why)
and #2. Bred/Fathom .... lots to evolve her, out of your 26 creatures, 24 will evolve her at least once.... draw cards!
4x Sylvan Caryatid .. at least 2 of them will evolve her...
4x Mistcutter Hydra ... pay +1 to evolve her and draw card.....
4x Master Biomancer ... and every body will evolve her Guaranteed!...... she will make more draw cards advantages for you!
As for your lands.... obviously your gates are place holding for the new temples..... only need 3 of them ... they do enter tapped, i would add one more Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
though.... at 3x Shrine's, when you tap one shine to produce 5 "devotion" mana... use 2 of them and produce 5 more and then again 5 more.. it will put into your mana pool 11 Green for spending 9 CMC (an addition of 2 mana, might make huge difference on a Hydra) to make the mana in this combo (Gyre Sages, Sylvan Caryatid are also producing mana in here, 9 mana should be easier to find for you)... and an X=10 Mistcutter Hydra
2 turns to kill at 10/10 is still better than 9/9, and 3 turns to kill with his damage, haste, and if unblocked for combat damage...
5 devotion mana is the magic number when you get more mana "combo-ing" the shrine 3 times (+2)... if your devotion is 6 you get 14 spending mana for tapping 9... 5 more than at turn start...
ok so now work on "cheap" Devotion....
I do like Kalonian Tusker for 2 mana...
Renegade Krasis I can't talk enough about, Awesome with evolve creatures and Biomancer on the battlefield... Drop a 1/2 Gyre Sage with a 2/4 Biomancer and a 3/2 Renegade Krasis on the field... the next turn that Sage just started to produce 3 Green mana. Swap them for cloudfin/prime speaker....
Might I suggest Savage Summoning .... end of opponents turn "Flash-in" and make Krasis evolve with a Gyre/Biomancer/Krasis combo above ... ...... OR
If you went with the earliest suggestion I just made.... Bred for the Hunt swapped for Fathom Mage ... Krasis and Biomancer combo with Savage Summoning will produce 3 draw cards with the savage played with the Mage on opponents turn.... Card Advantage x3!
ok try that... happy deck building.... nice deck!

So far from my playtests, it has a few mana problems, I inserted Gyre Sage and Sylvan Caryatid with hopes of adding a little bit more of ramp. This deck is amazing mid-late game, I still need to work on some sort of survivavbility during the early game though.
Comments and opinions welcome as always
