Oh, derp. Misread a few words. Overall, it looks pretty good. I'd probably go for another Feed the clan instead of Timely reinforcements in the side, as with Goyf and Rhino, it's very easy to get the ferocious, and that winds up making it more mana efficient.
I would go down to 3 lingering souls (4 never really worked for me) and put in a 4th abrupt decay. Other than that, it looks really good!
Consider maybe putting in 1 Sigarda for the mirror match?

I run the extra Lingering Souls and Timely Reinforcements because my meta loves things like infect, affinity, merfolk. Therefore stalling cards are important to me. If the meta were more midrange I would definitely go -1 Lingering Souls, +1 kill spell. If it were more control I'd probably go -1 Lingering Souls, +1 Thrun, the Last Troll.
Regarding the mirror match:
I bring in a single Deathmark for a single Abrupt Decay.
Both Kitchen Finks become Batterskull and Zealous Persecution. Remember Batterskull can be equipped to goyfs etc to make them huge. Zealous Persecution can sometimes be a blowout given that it makes all of your 4/5s eat all of their 4/5s.
I occasionally swap a Lingering Souls for a Maelstrom Pulse

Although Batterskull COULD become Sigarda, Host of Herons

Ah, yeah. Against infect and Affinity, you def. want 4. That mirror match plan seems just fine. All in all, looks like a solid list. If you're fighting an aggro heavy meta like infect, affinity and merfolk, you may want to just eschew the manlands. They're fantastic, but can really screw you vs. Affinity and Infect.

Yeh. I actually really dislike manlands in general. Having land that comes in tapped can sometimes be a death sentence. I'm testing.

In the mirror, discard spells are the first things you should be cutting as they are horrible topdecks. You want Finks because it's great value, you want Souls. Just cut Inquisitions and then Thoughtseizes as you bring in sideboard cards.
I also really like this manabase. Maybe Woodland Cemetery over a Tectonic Edge if that makes problems?
March 18, 2015 4:26 p.m.
That's true. I used to keep IOK but now I'll cut them in the mirror. Thoughtseize can stay though.

I feel like manlands help you make it to the finish line. They can wipe your board, but manlands were a small sacrifice you made early to generate pretty big gains later on.

I've also seen a Liliana go on the draw, so perhaps try that if it appeals to you. But that's for the mirror specifically, where Souls kind of moots her.

So here's the deal: We've gone to 3 man lands and stripped away some shocklands to make room for more basics. I think I also went for +1 fetchland too.
I've got a sigarda in the side now for the mirror match.

I would perhaps like to get another basic in there. Just to profit more from path to exile. Sometimes I find myself in a situation where I can't actually grab anything with it which is really sad.

It's not that bad. Four basics is fine, and the fifth basic (which is probably your 7th+ land) isn't doing much.

Hey!
Thanks for the comments. I don't generally take any heed of other people's playtests (no offence), just because this is a very difficult deck to pilot correctly and not many people can do it. It's taken me years even to get used to playing this style of deck.
In reality, this deck actually has a stupidly good line up against control decks such as yours because Grafdigger's Cage, Abrupt Decay, Scavenging Ooze and Thrun, the Last Troll effectively take control and graveyard strategies apart. I do appreciate you testing it out, but I can assure you that this is a top tier deck that has very favourable matchups against control. Perhaps I can show you on untap or some other online magic playtester sometime. I remember the last time someone told me they had a positive matchup against this deck - we ended up drawing haha.
Regardless, this is about as good as decks like this can get. This is almost an exact clone of decks that regularly top 8 events on magic online, PPTQs, PTQs, and many other events. Here's one example.

To be clear: I'm not disregarding your comment but I am saying that when I'm in charge of this deck I don't lose often to home-brews. The last time it happened was against Tarmoslayer blade and I didn't get the chance to sideboard in any artifact hate which makes it a suspect loss.

I'm playing Vault of the Archangel instead of Gavony Township because I'm a massive hipster.

Have you considered Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to be able to fetch your other lands using Verdant Catacombs?
April 8, 2015 2:19 p.m.
I have urborg. Also urborg doesn't change the types of lands in your library, only those in play. It therefore DOES NOT let Verdant Catacombs fetch any land.

Not fantastic but not awful. I either lose super fast and can't do anything about it, or I land Kitchen Finks (which gains life and lets me block two times due to persist) or Tarmogoyf and slowly win because my creatures overpower theirs. Lingering Souls is also fantastic. 2 chump blockers can gain me a turn or two of stalling time. As soon as I hit Siege Rhino or something I can easily take it. So - lose fast, or stall and slowly win.

I assume the tag is about the upvote button. As long as it's obvious that the button is an upvote link, then you're fine.
