Take out the cards that make me angry please, Olivia Voldaren , all counter spells, and card:Rakdos's Return

You just had one rough time with them. Nothing Oblivion Ring and Loxodon Smiter can't solve.

How has niv-miz been working out for you?

December 11, 2012 9:20 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #8

I've only got to playtest with him once, since he's the newest addition. And that one time, he didn't do so well lol. Mind you the opposing removal was Oblivion Ring and Selesnya Charm , which don't require a lot to get rid of him.

Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius seems like a really big target by turn 6, especially since turn 5 is the earliest I can get him out, but then I'm all... tapped out (hehe) so I cant protect him or myself. I like him though. If he survives a turn he can win you games by himself. Card advantage of a minimum of 3 cards in hand can win you games easily.

I guess, if you can hold your own for long enough, he can only be helping you. My advice would be to not play him right when you can. That's why there is only 1 of him in here.

I played my friend's grixis deck today, but he told me I can't make a grixis deck because its his colors. :(

Also Rewind and Ghost Quarter both work great with tamiyo emblem

December 12, 2012 12:28 a.m.

Lustrigia says... #11

Yes they do. But getting her emblem is so unrealistic, you can't really build around it.

And your friend is gay. Play Grixis. It's vastly superior to Jund, but probably not Bant.

Why do the good decks have to be so expensive to build?

December 12, 2012 12:56 a.m.

Lustrigia says... #13

They don't. The lands are all you need to invest in. Everything else you can get by without having to spend much at all.

cough planeswalkers cough cough

December 12, 2012 6:16 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #15

Well I'm running the most expensive walkers lol. But all I'm saying is you can save a lot of money and still get away with a very viable deck.

On a side note, I got my 4 Jace, Architect of Thought s when they were $50. They are nearly down to $15 now.

And Geist of Saint Traft and Thundermaw Hellkite are tied for most expensive cards in standard at about $40 each. UWr Midrange is definitely more expensive :P

Was looking at this and thought control with no card draw? Then I remembered the playset of jaces

December 14, 2012 2:32 a.m.

Hey there, huge fan of Grixis. +1 for sure. I haven't been too sure about card:Rakdos's Return and have been considering taking it out all together, How is that card for you?You can check out my build and see what your thoughts are.

card:Rakdos's Return destroys control, dude. Personally, I'd keep it in.

How do the lovely people feel about Fog Bank ?

December 17, 2012 4:18 p.m.

hollandboys says... #21

No to Fog Bank in this deck. It has it's places but not here

December 17, 2012 4:39 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #22

It buys me time to play expensive spells I otherwise couldn't in a fast game. Where would it belong if not somewhere like here?

December 17, 2012 5:08 p.m.

Moo says... #23

In a pillow fortress deck. I think this deck is still too aggressive to be turtling behind Fog Bank s.

December 17, 2012 5:11 p.m.

hollandboys says... #24

This deck has so many cards to buy you time that can also do more than Fog Bank . You don't really have a lot of trouble getting to enough mana. Plus someone can just Pillar of Flame it. I guess you could try it but I don't see anything here that could come out for it

December 17, 2012 5:12 p.m.

Lustrigia says... #25

I forgot about Pillar of Flame lol. For some reason I thought it was Hexproof.
