I wouold cut 2x Talara Battalion and 2x Joraga Warcaller (you don't really need 3) for 2x more heritage druid, another company, and a forest.

Also, Elvish Visionary seems kind of weak where you could put in a playset of Nettle Sentinel.

Nettle sentinel is really bad without 4 of heritage Druid, and even with it doesn't work so well,
I disagree on visionary, card draw is better than small synergy with a 2 of
I don't have room for more heritage Druid, so if you find anything to cut that's not an elf or coco or chord or a land, I can't add either that or collected company, which also happens to cost more than my budget allows

Like I kinda said above, I would cut either the 2 battalions or 2 of the warcallers to add 2 more heritage druid

I kinda have a budget also I don't have enough outlets for mana that 4 heritage Druid isn't necessary (I'd get them if I didn't had other decks to upgrade)
But before that I'd get more coco and chord, and then I can cut Joraga warcaller
Talara's battalion is just a personal favorite, always fun trolling my friends

ok, mattman856 I've decided to cut talara's battalion and put in a chord and another heritage druid. how does that look?

Sorry for skipping you, totally blanked out and forgot. Anyways, mainboard looks solid but maybe just consider balancing out the curve a bit. You look really 3 drop heavy. I personally wouldn't run 3 copies of Ezuri. Probably would cut it to two at most. Also one copy of Back to Nature in the sideboard would help against things like hexproof decks.

i run 3 ezuri because most of my opponents so far have always aimed to remove ezuri if they died to it on game one. If i don't need it, it's one of the cards to be boarded out.
you're right, I should get a copy of Back to Nature.
Thanks for the help, and thanks again for coming back to comment! (forgetting understandable, I do it sometimes as well)

How important is Chord of Calling? Could it be cut for another Lead the Stampede and Collected Company?
do i need Eternal Witness in sideboard?
Thank you all for your help!

I think yes you could cut 2 chords for another stampede and company

I run G/B Modern Elves (Elf Party) and Joraga Warcaller is great - I used to run him, but you miss the kicker when you hit him with CoCo or Stampede. I would suggest trying to drop to 1 of, removing him entirely, or maybe finding space for 1 in sideboard for grindy-er match-ups. Also Copperhorn Scout is one elf I've experimented with in the past that you may want to try out. Do your mana tapping M1 and then get them all untapped when you move to combat with her - I think it is an undervalued card in elf builds, especially a mono-green build that is almost entirely creatures. I'm sure you've also seen Nettle Sentinel all over the place, as it's in the same vein as Talara's Battalion, and either would be good to try in place of Joraga. Anywho, nice mono-green build. +1

Thanks for your suggestions! I'll have to test out Copperhorn Scout. I do agree with the weakness of Joraga warcaller, as it usually ends up being a bad turn 1 to let me play dwynen's elite.
I generally dislike Nettle Sentinel, as it is mediocre by itself, and really good with Heritage Druid. picking up a hand and seeing a nettle sentinel but no heritage druid turns it into a a 1 mana 2/2 that gets very hard to untap, and since any other elf can easily turn into a 2/2 and above, I don't play heritage druid for that reason.
If you don't mind, I have a question for you. Is Shaman of the Pack a necessary in green black elves, or is it more of personal preference / deck style? (I find that making opponents lose 4 life isn't as relevant as running a card like Prowess of the Fair that gives you some way to get back from boardwipes).

my question is how do you intend to handle infect decks?
May 22, 2017 3:29 p.m.
emrakulinsmugglers says... #21
My meta has no infect, so it hasn't been a problem a far. If so, I could put in melira

sorry for the vague previous answer, I was in a hurry and was not available to make a more detailed comment. To be honest, I haven't really done much to handle infect. I could run a few copies of ghost quarter to stop Inkmoth Nexus, I could run Melira, Sylvok Outcast to ruin their other creatures, such as Glistener Elf.
which do you think will be sufficient?
May 23, 2017 10:10 p.m.
Infect isn't really something to worry about right now. Not that it isn't a powerful deck anymore, but since Gitaxian Probe got banned the deck is not very popular anymore and I would not expect to play against it very much. As someone that has dabbled in modern elves, I've found that Chord of Calling is pretty important in this list since it tutors for a specific creature and puts it into play. I do think its at least a 3-of, and I would recommend running 4 in the main board. In an elves deck, you're able to generate a lot of mana and produce a wealth of creatures pretty fast, and for that reason both Collected Company and Chord of Calling seem better than Lead the Stampede. I would highly encourage you to go 4xChord 4xCoCo, and just cut LTS from the main board. LTS is a card worth having in the sideboard, because of things like Leonin Arbiter, but it is usually outclassed by Chord and CoCo.

Chord is a dead draw after a boardwipe, so I favor lead
May 24, 2017 2:34 p.m.
I guess if your local meta is heavy with control decks I can see why playing Lead the Stampede over Chord of Calling has it's advantages, but if I where to bring elves to a tournament I would take Chord. However, Even going up against control I still prefer Chord. You only really get blown out completely by a board wipe when you rush all of your threats out at once. When playing against a control deck it's wise not to dump your creatures and get blown out, and I find that having no LTS is fine when I play vigilantly and hold up a CoCo or a couple of creatures.

have you taken a look at ambush commander? obviously this isn't the kind of deck where you need thousands of elves, but heynever hurts to have more elves, am i right?
