I think so its like pseudo draw also...What do you think of the idea of replacing all discard with a different compatible strategy I have 19 cards devoted to discard and I don't need it for the top deck control to work actually.

instant spd nuking? (shrugs shoulders (smiles))

components: nukes. Alchemist's Refuge, you can use your tarpit or Thrun, the Last Troll.

nukes like Damnation, Supreme Verdict, and Merciless Eviction. You will need mana base though so we got Darksteel Ingot for example. Win con being tarpit, maybe some indestructibles w/ Worldslayer and/or Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker. Nicol bolas is like..... assured win if cast.

or lando mill!!!!!!!!!!! that would be great!

Sowing Salt, Mind Funeral, Consuming Aberration!!

and my fav that would be win con: Haunting Echoes.

yeah see that would be an interesting and compatible strategy and there are all those cards that mill down to a land(which isn't good with the current strategy) I'm having to fight for destroying all threats, bassically hoping to let land through. Why fight it? If i change strategy to kill lands there will be less threats coming up from the enemy deck. So yeah I'm heavily considering lando mill top deck control.

I have always wanted that strategy to flourish but I never was able too. In theory it's th ultimate control.

My best thought to kinda cheat it was somehow early cast: Identity Crisis or Wit's End or Monomania and then lando mill.

or nuke lando mill. hybrid deck. Like it early game landos then nukes. End game is lando mill...

or lando hard into Haunting Echoes along with more minor cards like Surgical Extraction and Extirpate lands away from their draws. Nuke every so often. If aggression is desired use plainswalkers like th Elspeths for ridiculous token production. very nice protection and offense.

oh man i did a play test where i had noxious on my isochron and then tezzeret out. I was looking through only ten cards a turn. Thats you know scanning my whole deck in aout five-4 turns lol oh and oredering it.

Shadow of Doubt stops a lot of search which is an achillees heel for my deck. (fetches)..also lategame draw when put on a stick.

check out this thing's mana base.

I designed it and it works very nicely!

I would suggest however you up your land count to 19. Statistically (which means intuitively) it works better at 19. To do so with my mana base, add a swamp or forest depending on what you take out, then add another of that fetch.

The enter tapped lands and beautiful.

what do you think? I ran about 20 quick tests up to about turn 5 where your mana base is for sure set. It succeeded 15/20, then those 5 fails had mulligans and I forgot those... I think 3/5 were good and then straight up womped for the rest.

in response to your forum post, add in some draw spells, otherwise you're really vulnerable to 8-racks, or any other deck that punishes a low hand number. also, Ensnaring Bridge isn't worth the cost. use some black killspells (Smother, Go for the Throat, etc.). maybe Horrifying Revelation to help mill.

I've done A discard nuke model Its not worth it and Its especially not worth it to use single removal the card advantage is horrible. The concept of the deck is to eliminate the number of threat spells they draw. By running bridge I eliminate all creatures as threats with just 1 card instead of 1 for 1 trades. That is also the concept behind playing pithing needle. Any other ideas to deal with eight rack? That is a good point that I could suffer from some rack hate. possibly run abrupt decay to destroy their racks?
