Thanks for the help Grixisthug! I'm already running Plague Wind, but Black Sun's Zenith does look like it would work well.I'll try removing Consume the Meek, Black Sun's Zenith basically just does Consume the Meek's job, but better, and I guess Consume the Meek has very limited use in EDH considering most people play with high cost creatures.
March 10, 2013 11:18 a.m.
black sun may be a little better because it shuffles back in where as consume the meek is a one off. but i do see why you wouldnt like it..
March 12, 2013 8:31 a.m.
Yeah I don't like how Black Sun's Zenith cripples my creatures if I use it for removal purposes, however I do like that I can use it with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed to remove +1/+1 counters and refresh undying. I'd like it (and Carnifex Demon for the same reason) in the deck, but I'm struggling to find a way to fit it in.

You're probably looking for Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth instead of Urborg. Also you should probably get Snow-Covered lands if youre gonna run Extraplanar Lens
March 14, 2013 11:19 p.m.
Yeah I was confusing the two for a while. I would love an Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth but haven't been able to get my hands on one.
I hadn't even considered the benefit of running Snow-Covered lands with things like Extraplanar Lens, I'll look into getting some. Thanks!

So are cards in your sideboard things you'd like to add but don't have room for or what?
March 15, 2013 12:45 p.m.
Yeah some of them I feel should be in there, and some of them I'm unsure of.

Which is which? cause a lot of those things I would suggest as replacements
March 17, 2013 12:18 a.m.
Consider Sewer Nemesis. Milling yourself can be an iffy strategy, but you get a tough creature and more stuff to res.
March 17, 2013 7:59 a.m.
Gearge Yeah I was looking at Sewer Nemesis earlier. I might try it out, it could be very useful, but hopefully I needn't resort to milling myself.
Matticus90 I could see any of them fitting in, but the ones I was probably considering using most are things like Fleshbag Marauder, Nezumi Graverobber, Killing Wave, Dread Return, Mind Shatter and Black Sun's Zenith.I also like all the cards I'm currently running, so I have no idea what I'd remove.
If you have any suggestions, then they would be very welcome! Even suggestions of any cards that aren't in my list that you think would work well would be helpful, as I'm still not familiar with most cards available in the game and it helps to know your options.

The things I really liked in the Side area were : Black Sun's Zenith,Dread Return,Fleshbag Marauder,Grave Betrayal I feel is something thats perfect for the deck,Damnation, Lim-Dul the Necromancer,Nirkana Revenant, Sensei's Divining Top. Things I was less than excited about : Carnifex Demon, Leaden Myr, Everflowing Chalice, Dark Ritual, Semblance Anvil, Palladium Myr, Morbid Plunder, Quicksand. Also I would cut two Swamps and add in Terrain Generator and Winding Canyons. If you don't like the idea of Winding Canyons I would think about Vedalken Orrery.
March 17, 2013 8:41 p.m.
Hmm so you don't think I need quite as much mana ramp then? I figured I'd need a lot with the high CMC of most of my cards.
I'm not too keen on Carnifex Demon normally, really the only reason I was running it was in the hope I could get it out at the same time as Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Perhaps that is too specific in an EDH deck.
I definitely agree with cutting Morbid Plunder.I'm indifferent about Quicksand, I only added it because I could.
I tried making some of the changes you suggested (I'm having trouble getting my hands on Damnation and Sensei's Divining Top without paying a fortune, otherwise they'd already be in there).

I just like ramp that isn't so susceptible to board wipes. Extraplanar lens and Caged Sun are an awesome start. Crypt Ghast just gives you more bang for your buck than the myrs do. And being able to get more lands out with terrain generator really helps also especially when your searching them out with liliana. EDH is just a way slower format you spend the first couple turns setting up the board to be able to play your bigger stuff. Something that could help is just by giving you a little more stable draw power to keep filling your hand Phyrexian Arena, Howling Mine, and Bloodgift Demon are great places to start. They help make sure you always have a land drop or 2 each turn

Thawing Glaciers is another nice utility land that makes sure you get a land drop this turn and isnt absurdly expensive

Last thing and then I'll stop blowing up your feed, Sepulchral Primordial would be nice also.
March 18, 2013 12:31 a.m.
Blood Artist Would also be cool. A little flimsy, but potentially nasty.
March 18, 2013 9:32 a.m.
Yeah I can definitely see Sepulchral Primordial fitting in this deck really well, I'm pretty sure I can get one pretty easily too.
Cards like Thawing Glaciers are really nice... but expensive. I'll see if I can pick one up for trade somewhere. I'm not keen on forking out for dozens of uber lands.
I'm always scared of adding consistent life-loss cards because I like building decks that promote long games, but I can definitely see the advantage. I'll play around with Howling Mine and Phyrexian Arena a bit.
Blood Artist would definitely be fun to have out with Sheoldred, Whispering One, I'm just contemplating whether having that or a big scary card would be more valuable. I think I have one so I might try it out.
March 18, 2013 12:03 p.m.
Yeah that definitely fits with the decks flavour. I can see that working really nicely with Sepulchral Primordial, Rune-Scarred Demon, and Corpse Connoisseur.

Especially when you have sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar. Plus you can take your opponents creatures when Sheoldred makes them sacrifice them :D
March 19, 2013 12:21 a.m.
Yeah the more I think about it the more I like it.
I'll try removing Reanimate, which feels a bit weird for a reanimator deck, but with the extremely high CMC of most of my creatures I can see reanimate being a safe option less often than I'd like.
Would you suggest otherwise? I'm guessing you'd probably tell me to do away with Everflowing Chalice, which is probably a better idea honestly...I'll play around with it.
March 19, 2013 12:28 a.m.
Grimoire of the Dead and Jar of Eyeballs both also seem very... fitting.
March 19, 2013 3:34 a.m.
Yeah they're both hilarious. I want them, especially Jar of Eyeballs.

I don't think you've gone too far with the creatures, but it's all going to depend on who you're playing with. Watch out for aggro.Black Sun's Zenith and Plague Wind are both fairly inexpensive and would be great in this deck.
