R1: up against U/W control/midrange thing:
G1 - Got down some early threats and kept a couple in hand in case you DOJ'd, he didn't. I had to mulligan to 5.
G2 - pretty much the same.
Apparently he forgot to put DOJ in his sideboard before FNM, but I don't think it would have made a difference. Grand Abolisher and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben performed very well.
R2: U/W Delver (maybe it was American? I don't remember)
G1 - Raced him and won.
G2 - Raced him again. I think I won this one. In any case I either won the match 2-1 or 2-0.
Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Grand Abolisher both enjoyed time in the spotlight once more. Sublime Archangel made things nuts quick, and with Grand Abolisher on the field my opponent was forced to snag on my field -- I think he put Sublime back in my hand twice that way.
R3: Haunted Humans
G1 - Outraced him with Nearheath Pilgrim and Sublime Archangel
G2 - He pulled a god hand involving 3 Champion of the Parishs, some other stuff and Angelic Destiny. He won.
G3 - He got stuck on 3 land and I had Thalia on board, meaning he had pretty much no chance of dropping the Day of Judgment or Angelic Destiny he had in hand. Managed to -2 Ajani on a Rancor'd Thragtusk, felt good bro.
Ajani, Caller of the Pride and Nearheath Pilgrim did quite well here. A 2/1 First Strike is also nothing to laugh at T2 (Thalia).
R4: Mono Black Control
G1 - Got through with Mirran Crusader and Knight of Glory
G2 - Guy crushed me with Mutilate and then dropped Lashwrithe and Phyrexian Obliterator
G3 - Guy offered to split and I declined. Then I drew straight lands for a while while trying to make some kind of board presence. I lost.
Probably would have won if I hadn't drawn straight lands, but so it goes.
I ended up getting 3rd, and I pulled a Tamiyo, the Moon Sage from the packs I picked up with my store credit. yay.
