No seriously. we should start the brew-machine and rebuild it to make it playable. Not Tier1, but playable.

EpicFreddi If one were to make a replacement for Sensei's Divining Top it'd be Scroll Rack most likely. Resets miracles, great with Land Tax, and can put stuff back for Counterbalance triggers

I mean it will still be a good deck, but without top I doubt it will stay competitively viable. Scroll rack can't protect itself like top can, which was a huge part of why the deck did so well

Not to mention that scroll rack can't rapid fire rearrange the top like top can. Limited to one use per turn cycle assuming that there are no changes involving untap stuff

Entrei I don't think the deck will really be playable at all. Like, Counterbalance now has no very powerful synergies anymore that I'm aware of. There'd be very little point to play it when you could just play a strictly better deck. Without top you're just this bad durdly control deck. Especially with Abrupt Decay being so omnipresent now. Your balance do even less when you can't dig for more easily.

When I said it will still be good I meant it will still be a decent deck. If there was something like say Hedron Alignment, but instead cost 1 mana for a scry 2 without tapping it would still work out sort of in tournament setting... but unless wizards makes a card like that it doesn't look very viable in tourney

I know this probably doesn't help much but you could probably make a Modern spin on this without too much of an issue, though how good it would be would be beyond me, I was just thinking of making one myself

All I can hope now is that nothing in my developing modern deck gets banned before it's finished (nervous look at Arcbound Ravager, Dark Confidant)

lol, Im thinking of substituting Divining top with something like Anticipate and Isochron scepter, Im sure I can find something but... I really like the idea for this deck, I wish It didnt get banned
