Ichorclaw Myr is a good one. perhaps better than the evasion of Plague Stinger, but it is hard to say.

Also, Slaughterhorn may not be a bad pump to run. What's nice is it pumps for and specifically says "target attacking creature". I feel this is relevant in the event you come up against a Spellskite, because now your pumps can't be stolen by it. Plus, less chances of being countered since it is an ability and not a spell. I know the hand hate and removal is strong with your build, but just something to consider.

I've never thought about using Slaughterhorn I might replace my Vampire's Bite with it.

Fatal2498, I agree with you. nevadathestate had a great suggestion with Slaughterhorn!

I'm not sure of your budget, but if anything is too much there are always replacements. You can check out Spreading the Sickness for a better visualization of my suggestions.

Blue is a necessity. It gives access to Gitaxian Probe, Distortion Strike, a plethora of sideboard cards and Blighted Agent, which is incredibly important. Phyrexian Crusader is rather clunky, and it should be in your sideboard if anything.

Wild Defiance is the first notable card that is missing, and is a very powerful threat. With mana acceleration (Noble Hierarch is best, but Birds of Paradise is fine), this card is nearly unbeatable if you cast it on turn 2, and I've been incredibly happy with it's performance.

I'll be back with some more thoughts later.

Ichorclaw Myr would be good Noble Hierarch would help, Let u play a Glistener Elf & keep mana open for Abrupt Decay/Vines of Vastwood plus will also pump the elf when it's ready to swing.

A better mana base would also help. Infect can't really depend on stuff like Woodland Cemetery. Any of the KTK or fetches would work. I'd go with green but I think the most optimal for this deck would be Misty Rainforest should you choose to eventually expand upon a blue splash...

Not true at all bigmash he's packing a full Abrupt Decay playset. Not only does he have the only basics he needs to cast Abrupt Decay he doesn't actually need them.

They cast Blood Moon u respond by tapping your lands to float /. Blood Moon resolves, Abrupt Decay that bitch!

They already get a decent amount of value of it if thats how it plays out.. But with 8 Main deck discard spells you shouldn't have an issue with it asyou canplay around it or just make them discard it.

I agree with nevadathestate this deck needs Wild Defiance as it has fewer pump spells.

Due to personal preference I would maybe run more pump and probably mainboard a few of the blessings as they provide both evasion and protection. I understand that you are going for a more controlling route, but the current build lacks a lot of speed. The reason I'm saying this is that I ran this against my combo deck and your's went 0-3. Despite hand disruption every game, your deck just wasn't explosive enough. But, as stated, this all comes down to preference. Good luck with the fine tuning.

[BTW this is the deck I was running yours against: Izzet on a Budget]

@ghode, I agree it could use a little more pump. As for the Apostle's Blessing, I really like the card, but Phyrexian Crusader sort of has one built in. If I start going the route you suggest (which I do like), then I would likely find myself ending up back at a typical U/G Infect.

February 12, 2016 3:07 p.m.

List seems fine. Check out Chris Fennell's versions of the deck (I expect you can find his PT deck on the coverage page).

February 12, 2016 3:12 p.m.

I would think Mono Green is most aggressive.

U/B with Counterspells and

Runechanter's Pike for a more balanced game.

Or BUG

What the F do I know though. I still play Cruel Control

Love the deck and Idea as a whole. I don't play infect much, but Black seems great. However, what blue offers seems too good to turn away from, and having access to Blighted Agent and inluding Ichorclaw Myr should be enough to not have to run black creatures, thus reducing the need for black mana. Meaning you can probably get away with BUG colors with the only black cards main being the 4 Abrupt Decays and the 8 hand disruption spells, which are sweet additions to regular infect.

Notable cards missing are Groundswell, Become Immense and the previously mentioned Wild Defiance, along with probably Dismember . I dont know the numbers, but it feels like there should be some number of those in your 75.

Other cards that should probably be in side are: Spellskite, Nature's Claim, Maelstrom Pulse, Twisted Image if you decide to go blue, probably an Apostle's Blessing, and then like 2 Viridian Corrupters

Great deck!

also GlistenerAgent. As the Infect master, what do you think of the Slaughterhorn suggestion to get around spellskite? It seems interesting at the very least.

February 13, 2016 9:51 p.m.

How about removal spell to get around Spellskite? Seems much better. :)

metalevolence says... #22

Backing up the infect pump plan with black hand disruption is not a bad idea, but your goal should just be using the hand disruption to make sure your lethal infect swing connects. Don't bother removing opponent's threats, just remove anything they have that stops you from giving them 10 poison counters quickly.

Also your clickbait title is lame

February 18, 2016 9:20 a.m.

scholar says... #23

@metalevolence, when I say removing threat, I mean removing anything counterproductive to Infect's plan, which usually includes connecting with a swing. I thought that much was pretty clear.
