Nice brew. Riptide Laboratory and Volrath's Stronghold might be worthy of a spot.

FrigidOfficial Well, if you don't want to empty your wallet for a Lion's Eye Diamond then the best cards to include for doomsday are probably going to be Thought Scour and/or Mental Note along with some cheap form of reanimation. If you're fine with just using it for lab man, Unearth is the best one (especially since you can cycle it when its not useful) otherwise Animate Dead Shallow Grave or Exhume can be useful to reanimate other combo pieces such as Wanderwine Prophets or Bloodline Necromancer when you're not going for the doomsday win.

This is what I've thrown together and will be testing.

hey so im a little bit confused on the combo "Infinite Tokens with Dualcaster Mage and Rite of Replication (Unkicked)"

this combo just gets you like 2 sigil tracers and infinite dual casters correct? or is it somehow supposed to net infinite sigils as well and im misunderstanding. if that is the case there seems to be extra steps.

thanks in advance and i love the deck overall!

Hey all. Haven't been active very a very long time. Sorry about that.

SufferFromEDHD, I appreciate the compliment. I would like to add the lands, but they're a bit out of my budget right now. Perhaps in the future they could find a home here.

thatguycrow, I'll definitely check out a Doomsday package. I'm planning on buying some Masters 25 packs, and if I unpack Doomsday, I'll take it as a sign haha. Getting Pact of Negation would also be a huge boon, and I think it would be a no-brainer to play the combo in the case that that happens. How has testing your build been?

deathac, You are correct in saying that you only get infinite Dualcaster Mage tokens. Thanks for the feedback!

Do you think that Winding Canyons has any place in this deck? It lets you hold mana up, just in case. It also lets you wait until your control opponent goes shields down to play your combo. It can always just tap for Inalla trigger mana, too.

Zidantur, Winding Canyons could be a fun card, and one that would have application in other creature based decks as well. If I can find the money for it, I may pick up a copy. Thanks for the suggestion!

What do you think about Tezzeret the Schemer? I will probably give it a try in my Inalla EDH deck. It's a freakin UB ramp (screw green), and you can pump that mana into your combos, fix your mana or just play out additional cards, since card draw is plenty. Playing 14 Artifacts in your deck, Tezzeret gives you additional artifacts, copied Trophy Mage and Trinket Mage also add plenty of artifacts. His -2 ability thus might be a substitue for one of the not so good creature removal cards. It has a 5 body for CMC4, also not bad. For a more budget oriented Inalla deck, this guy is easily overlooked imo, it's a nice ramp into your combos and a creature removal that gets stronger as the game progresses.

Chiefson, Tezzeret could be nice, but I've never been a fan of planeswalkers. My meta is mostly aggro and midrange combo, so I don't think he would survive very long after using a loyalty ability. If your meta is slower or less creature based, I would say to go for it; however, I don't think many (or any) planeswalkers fit in this version of the deck.

I feel like you are kinda at a midrange state for your combos. Id say take out a weaker combo and add some more resilience to the deck. Id also think about dropping Kindred Discovery. You should have plenty of card advantage without it. Plus its pretty high on the cmc. Ever consider Tainted Pact and Laboratory Maniac combo? It usually works well with more casual groups.

I just noticed the lands you are running. Tainted pact wouldnt work. Need only one of everything.

Hey, I'm just curious if there are any cards from the new set that you're excited about for this deck.

April 18, 2018 5:03 p.m.

Hey Zidantur. Haven't gotten around to putting my thoughts down on paper for Dominaria yet, as I've been working heavily on a Sidisi, Brood Tyrant list and am still on the fence about throwing Doomsday into this build of Inalla to make it less midrange combo and more pure combo. Right now I'm looking towards the latter.

In any case, the following cards I think have potential are as follows:

  • Blink of an Eye is nothing special, but it is basically another copy of Into the Roil, and that lets us deal with things that Grixis can't; namely, enchantments.

  • Merfolk Trickster looks like a really good way to shut down some problematic combos, especially in my meta. Mike and Trike is popular in my playgroup, and preventing some of the aggro players from smashing me in the face doesn't hurt either. I think I am most excited for this as a toolbox card that has a lot of applications.

  • Naban, Dean of Iteration seems alright. As a legendary, he can't be copied, but he is an effective Panharmonicon for all our creatures at . Might be worth a spot.

  • Naru Meha, Master Wizard seems better in a Marchesa, the Black Rose deck or something similar. She can't combo off with Ghostly Flicker as Dualcaster Mage does, and the lord effect is negligible.

  • Final Parting is a very slow tutor (at sorcery speed and mana wise, being fairly expensive), but it can let us set up for a combo with one card. If your meta is slower, you could try this one out.

  • Helm of the Host seems like it could be broken wide open, but I'm not sure how to do it in this deck. Testing could yield some cool results, but for now it remains better in a deck headed by Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker or someone similar.

  • Damping Sphere is a fantastic tech card. My meta has a lot of Timmy decks and some storm builds brewing with the reveal of Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain. Definitely slot this in if you're experiencing the same thing in your playgroup.

Other than the above cards, nothing really catches my eye.

assuming you have enough mana, conjurer's closet + Timestream Navigator is an infinite turn combo.1. trigger ascend and get city's blessing2. have the closet out3. cast the navigator for 2 mana, copy it with 1 mana (with inallas ability), pay 4 mana for the tokens ability.4. flicker the navigator with the closet at the end of turn and pay 1 to get a token.5. every turn after that pay 4 for the ability and 1 to gain the token. Its kind of expensive to get the combo off but ive done it and its very satisfying. 5 for the closet, 8 for the initial turn and 5 every turn after that but you get turns until you either get bored or win.

Your description of the Bloodline Necromancer Ashnod's Altar combo was what prompted me to add it to my Inalla deck. This combo can actually start off with just 2B if you have another Wizard, and can also make infinite tokens of the other Wizard in the process.

Not sure if you're in the market for more infinite combos, but Twinflame works very nicely with Dualcaster Mage for infinite hasty tokens. Cloudstone Curio can also let you repeatedly cast cheap Wizards if you have Paradox Engine. Curio also combos with Timestream Navigator for infinite turns.

You can check out my Inalla deck with these combos and more, would love to hear your thoughts.

+1 for Inalla, Archmage Ritualist!

Could you consider Fellwar Stone/Mind Stone as additional signets?

July 20, 2018 4:18 p.m.

Hey SynergyBuild! Fellwar Stone is already in the deck, and Mind Stone is a bit lackluster in my opinion. Our rocks want to be doing one (or both) of the following:

  1. Making more than one colorless mana

  2. Making colored mana

As it stands, I don't even love things like Commander's Sphere in the deck at the moment. The cantrip draw on Mind Stone is nice, but the fact that it can neither tap for mana and draw in the same turn nor draw for free makes it a bit weak. I would much rather have things like Gilded Lotus or the fast / big rocks like Mana Vault or Mana Crypt, but I don't want to shell out the money for the latter two.

Do Coldsteel Heart and to a lesser extent Fire Diamond, Charcoal Diamond, and Sky Diamond all fit the colored mana part?

July 21, 2018 12:13 p.m.

Sure, you could play them, but I think they’re a bit slow.

Sup. I'm not sure if this was brought up, but why not an extra combo of isochron scepter + dramatic reversal + tran dynamo into aetherflux reservoir? Another easy combo you can tutor for.

You're still working on this! <3 The ghostly flicker dualcaster combo goes infinite mana no matter what btw. Just requires some fun rules exploiation:

  • Cast ghostly flicker
  • Copy with dual caster
  • With the copy flicker two lands
  • Pay inalla's cost (can still be on the stack depending on how you at stacked the triggers)
  • Flicker dualcaster and a land with the copy
  • Repeat

Love your list!

Ucenna says... #24

An edit to my original post. You don't even need to make a copy of dualcaster. Just flicker a land and dualcaster with each cast, and you can create a new copy and repeat. Then you can spend your mana to create an arbitrary ammount of dualcasters to swing with or copy spells with.

July 5, 2019 4:20 p.m.

Ucenna, thank you so much for the kind words! I'm trying to find time to play Magic post-grad, so I haven't been able to look at the deck in a while. I completely forgot that you can flicker the lands with Ghostly Flicker ; I'll definitely keep that in mind the next time I'm playing.

I'll be re-evaluating the build today and seeing whether or not I can make some changes to it for the better, and I'm hoping that I can make it to my LGS this Friday to see the results!
