"In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order."

-Carl Jung

This deck is one of my more complicated decks to date. This deck involves heavy use of The Stack. In my Gisa and Geralf Zombie tribal, I used the graveyard as a major resource. The goal of this deck is a bit more complicated, and as such, I will argue that The Stack is your major resource in this deck.

How spells resolve on the stack will determine many outcomes. This deck can be as simple or as complicated as you make it. With that being said, the deck's strategy can be overly simplified as "double or nothing". The goal is to double up on all "Enter the Battlefield" - now "Enters" - abilities. The main strategy is delicate and as such will require its own section below to explain in detail.

This strategy will be known as the "Spellseeker Strategy". This strategy is a one and done, REALLY long turn. You're essentially turning Spellseeker into a one-card-combo for . Seems simple, right? See the list below.

  1. Cast Spellseeker, paying 3 mana.
  2. Once you summon Spellseeker, you will have 2 triggers on the stack: Inalla, Archmage Ritualist, and Spellseeker.
  3. Allow Spellseeker to resolve, fetching Culling the Weak.
  4. Spend and sacrifice Spellseeker to cast Culling the Weak, giving you
  5. Spend to resolve Inalla, Archmage Ritualist's ability, granting us a token of Spellseeker and leaving us with in our mana pool.
  6. Since our Spellseeker token enters the battlefield, we're able to fetch Unearth. We will spend to cast Unearth and bring back Spellseeker, leaving us with .
  7. Given that our Spellseeker we retrieved with Unearth is entering the battlefield, we will be able to fetch another card. This time, we'll fetch Burnt Offering.
  8. We will then cast Burnt Offering with , sacrificing Spellseeker again to gain and . We will use our last from Culling the Weak to resolve Inalla's ability again to create another Spellseeker token. With this Spellseeker, we will search our library for Finale of Promise.
  9. We will then use the and to cast Finale of Promise, meaning X equals 1.
  10. We will then use Finale of Promise to find Unearth and Culling the Weak from the graveyard.
  11. NOTE: Finale of Promise exiles these two cards after you're done with them. This means we'll need more tricks up our sleeves. Thankfully, this deck is full of tricks.
  12. We will cast Unearth to bring Spellseeker out of the graveyard. This causes Spellseeker to cast a search trigger. In response to this trigger, we will cast Culling the Weak, sacrificing the Spellseeker. and giving us .
  13. Pay to resolve Inalla, Archmage Ritualist's trigger and make another Spellseeker token. This leaves us with two Spellseeker search effects on the stack and in our mana pool, as well as the original card:Spellseeker in our graveyard.
  14. Using the two search triggers, search your library for Entomb and Reanimate.
  15. Spend to cast Entomb to find Scholar of the Ages, then spend to cast Reanimate and search our graveyard for Scholar of the Ages, which will cost us 7 life.
  16. When Scholar of the Ages enters the battlefield, it puts a trigger to search the graveyard for up to two instant and/or sorcery cards from the graveyard on the stack. It also puts an Inalla, Archmage Ritualist trigger on the stack. First, resolve Scholar of the Ages to find Burnt Offering and Entomb.
  17. With our last and by sacrificing Scholar of the Ages, we will cast Burnt Offering to add . Pay to resolve Inalla, Archmage Ritualist's ability and make a copy of Scholar of the Ages, putting an Inalla, Archmage Ritualist trigger on the stack.
  18. Cast Entomb to find Shallow Grave, leaving you with . Pay to pay the Inalla, Archmage Ritualist trigger. With two black mana remaining, cast Shallow Grave to find Scholar of the Ages.
  19. With this setup, you can use Scholar of the Ages trigger to grab Shallow Grave and Burnt Offering to go infinite on Mana. You also gain infinite 3/3 wizard tokens with haste. If you pay 1 mana to use Inalla's doubling trigger during the Scholar combo, you can find 4 of any card instead of only 2.

Let's say you want to do something other than attack with infinite haste wizards. Maybe your opponents are running boardwipes. Maybe you're just bored of killing via combat. Maybe one of your opponents is running Sister, I Resurrected the Dead! and has infinite zombie tokens, blocking your infinite wizards. There are several cards in this deck to help.

Thanks to the end-of-combo interaction between Scholar of the Ages and Inalla, Archmage Ritualist, we have access to 4 spells to pull from the graveyard. Should you cast Entomb alongside Burnt Offering and Shallow Grave, you can go find Lightning Bolt to bolt your enemies to death. We have many wizards to make this process go faster. Cards like Dualcaster Mage can make our infinite bolting more efficient and is easy to bring in thanks to its flash ability. This same combo can be done with Wizard's Lightning. For burn, you also have cards like Comet Storm, Grapeshot, Crackle with Power, Electrodominance, or Jaya's Immolating Inferno. Choose which card you want to run and let your enemies feel the burn!

As one can see, this deck really is that simple. There are other spells to consider, such as Virtue of Knowledge, that can double up on Enter triggers. What's important is to remember how it resolves on the stack. As said before, this deck can be as complicated or as simple as you make it. That's what makes it fun, however. As said by Jung, "In all chaos there is... a secret order". Find your secret order and confuse your opponents as much as you confuse yourself.
