My deck works in a similar way; Olaf

Still trying to figure out if I need Hex Parasite or Spellskite .

Phyrexian Unlife is a must have though. You can pay infinite life (since paying life isn't damage) and swing with a infinity+13 Death's Shadow with Faith's Shield .

Death's Shadow does get stronger if you have a negative life total, but you can't pay life you don't have. if you have 0 life, it's the same as having 0 mana, you can't pay with what you don't have.

you could use Orzhov Charm 's Devour in Shadow mode to lower you life total, or Night's Whisper , but not phyrexian mana costs

Ooska, don't worry. Anything that says "pay life" won't work, but making you lose life is a different story. Promise of Power or Sanguimancy would work for what you're planning, or my personal favorite: Phyrexian Etchings

(sorry to clutter this thread btw)

I will have to say Mr. Ducky. You are one out of the box thinker. I love how original your decks are. +1 from me for sure!

Thanks so much, BattleWalrus! I try to post things that haven't been done before or that have barely been done.. I think this was my most popular deck, though.

maybe consider Tainted Strike rather than double strike? or also Temur Battle Rage? It could be ebtter or worse.

I totally second Tainted Strike. You only need four life maximum, outside bolt range, and it's half as much mana.

I totally wish this were way less money, I'd totally make an adaptation of this. +1

Ive played this exact type of deck since new phyrexia (hex parasite was instrumental)

And know for a fact multiple others have built similar builds, and even shown results. Myself included.

So calling this a new deck and treating it like your creation isn't really what you want to be doing.

But if you are interested in a tuned death's shadow deck here is my current list:

4 Death's Shadow4 Angel's Grace4 Faith's Shield4 Hex Parasite4 Street Wraith3 Phyrexian Unlife2 Plunge into Darkness4 Spoils of the Vault3 Tainted Strike4 Godless Shrine4 Marsh Flats1 Plains4 Gitaxian Probe1 Pact of Negation1 Slaughter Pact3 Swamp4 Bloodstained Mire1 Rite of Consumption4 Thoughtseize1 Watery Grave

4 Leyline of Sanctity2 Not of This World1 Orzhov Charm2 Disenchant1 Patrician's Scorn2 Surgical Extraction1 Slaughter Pact1 Avatar of Hope1 Drown in Sorrow

Enjoy.
