Overview
Take their libraries, take their life.
The Duskmantle Guildmage + Mindcrank
combo is in my opinion one of the most underrated combos in modern. It can go off by turn 3 in the right build, and once both pieces are on the board, any removal can be answered with an activation of Duskmantle Guildmage's ability. This is great because once you have the combo, your opponent effectively can't play spells, or they lose. They also can't lose life (fetches, phyrexian mana, etc).
Card Choices
Duskmantle Guildmage/Mindcrank: The combo. 4 of each, obviously.
Muddle the Mixture/
Dimir Infiltrator
: Still useful even if I don't transmute them.
Polluted Delta/Gitaxian Probe: These essentially allow us to run only 53 cards. The fetches thin out your deck and Gitaxian Probe costs no mana and replaces itself.
Inquisition of Kozilek/Thoughtseize: Hand removal is best removal.
Serum Visions: Cantrips are nice.
Remand: Cheap countermagic.
Aether Vial: Lets us transmute for Duskmantle Guildmage and play him on the same turn/on their end step, and even activate him on the same turn sometimes. Invaluable in this deck.
Spellskite: Transmuteable and protects our combo. Great!
Liliana of the Veil: Something I'm playing around with the thought of running right now and I think will work well in the deck.
Sideboard Guide
It's very useful to have cards with converted mana cost of 2 in the sideboard, because we can tutor for them! This means we can have a much more versatile sideboard because we can grab that silver bullet right out of our deck.
Torpor Orb: Hoses Twin.
Hurkyl's Recall: Hoses Affinity. Or Robots. Whatever.
Liliana of the Veil: Here to help more in the endgame (Tron).
Inquisition of Kozilek: Because who wants to lose life when playing against RDW?
Extirpate: Combo killer.
Suggestions are certainly welcome!
