Sorry If I have grammar mistakes...but I was sleeping and woke up now... :)

No problem for grammar.

How much are you willing to spend on a deck? That can help me suggest something. A lot of people take their modern very seriously and want to win, but it is possible to do pretty well with a fairly cheap deck.

nearly 40$...Any help here?

Hmmm. Well, $40 can get you a Marsh Flats. That's about it unfortunately.

You really need to spend about $200 to get into modern with a good deck - and that's just to get a playable tier 2 deck, which will only do okay at a tournament. How many people are at your 4 round tournament? Like 8 of you or more like 16 or more? If there's only 8-10 of you, maybe you can get 4th or 5th occasionally. With more people it's harder. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but trying to win tournaments with $40 is not really doable. If it were, no one would spend $2000 on decks. I've seen $500+ decks go 0-3 for last place at my LGS. That doesn't happen often, though.

Quick word of advice: DO NOT GO TO STANDARD. It is really expensive right now and because it rotates, the cards lose value, so you'll spend $30 now to lose most of your games, then that $30 will turn to $3 within a year. It's tragic.

With $40 you can probably build something like budget Infect, budget Affinity, or budget Zoo and possibly go 2-2. When you go budget, aggro is really your only option. All of those decks are viable aggro options, but they will fold to tier 1 strategies pretty easily. They're great starting points because you can upgrade over time into a really solid deck and you won't lose every game in the meantime.

I want an ally deck for modern...but I can't find any... Do you have anything to suggest?(Budget)

I have a Gideon from the new set*

Unity

Modern Allies - Primer (Updated for BfZ!)

The reason you can't find any modern ally decks is because there aren't any. Allies are pretty bad in modern, unfortunately. Maybe with Oath they'll be better, but Gideon isn't modern playable, even in ally decks. Even $500 allies won't win your tournament. Maybe a couple of times if you get really good with the deck, but not at first.

So...What do you suggest?

December 5, 2015 12:52 p.m.

Maybe a discard with Liliana's Caress? I don't know what do you think?

Or a mill... (Sorry for talking alone :P)

Budget Infect, budget Affinity, or budget zoo are probably your best bets.

Budget infect would be mono-G. Cheap Infect is a good sample list. Not perfect as it's out of date, but a very good example of what it would look like with a decent primer too.

Budget Affinity is a little more expensive and I can't find a list I like. This one has the most room for upgrades. I recommend this path if you are likely going to be able to pay another $50 or more over time.

Budget Zoo would look something like this. I'm referring to the last list he has there. It's a little over $50, but with some pretty easy swaps in the manabase especially it can drop below $40.

Unfortunately on a very low budget isn't the best place to be trying to win. If you really want to win, you're probably out of luck. If you don't need to win to have fun, then your options open up a lot. If you can accept that $40 won't win a tournament and if you can be happy if you win a match or 2 most of the time, then you can build lots of different innovative decks that are tons of fun to play, but not competitive. Things such as discard, allies, combo, etc.

Ok...I am a new player. (I am playning less than a year) And I know that with the money I can put for a deck now...Are not enough...I want something to have fun and have a good time...But not losing all the time...This deck is funny...other suggestions for funny deck?

December 5, 2015 1:11 p.m.

That depends. What kind of decks do you like? What are your favorite colors(s) in magic? Do you like aggro? control? midrange? tempo? combo?

December 5, 2015 1:14 p.m.

I think that for a funny deck combo is nice but... I like aggro whith red and black or white.

December 5, 2015 1:20 p.m.

You know something?... I'll make an infect deck and one with illusions... I am ok with this...

The idea is great but In practice not so good. I did it 20 times and the average win turn was 10. 3/4 times when I drew perfectly it went off turn 4-6 but otherwise it went anywhere from 7-22 turns to win
