If you have fetches run them with Gitaxian Probe and Become Immense. Nothing like a G for +6/+6. Check out my infect The Universally Hated A-Team, it runs well and does pretty good against removal/burn

Hey, +1 from me! Love infect! I would ask, do you have problems with having too much colorless mana? Four nexii and two cathedrals seem like they would come into conflict with all the color requirements (looking at you, Vines of Vastwood). Also, I think Serum Visions or Slight of Hand would be beneficial. I think you can safely drop the Myrs for some MB Become Immense and Dispel or Spell Pierce. All this is just my opinion/preference though, so take it with a grain of salt. :) and if you want to check out my infect deck, I'd appreciate any commentary! thanks! yes, the cathedrals can be troublesome. id prefer 2 nobles. i previously tested w visions and gprobes but i like taking risks with insurance from vines and blessing. i wouldn't mind trying become immense tho.

I ran cathedrals in the mono green list I used to play with, but when I went simic, they lost a lot of utility. But in mono G, they put in real work. The hierarchs a fantastic if you can affor them (I've only got two now, but I want four). And running a full set of probes is fine since you can use blue mana for them if you need to. Of course, they and Muta growths are often the first to come out after G1, but their use is not to be understated. I hope you didn't think I meant to take out the vines! =O I just meant that GG can be taxing with so much colorless mana sources. VoV is def a four of. I have yet to play with visions; I'm waiting on mine to come in the mail. I've just sacrificed some lesser pump and some blessings for the probes. But I know lists that don't run them. I just really think probes help feed become immense really well. Even just one or two MB can be backbreaking G1; I suggest you at least do some play testing with it :) but it all just depends on how your deck comes together as a whole.

On another note, have you ever thought of going BUG?

when it was still proto i ran 4 stingers but it never really panned out. the inconsistencies were really due to land base. i do see alot of potential going b/u/g though. what would you run? ive considered b/g with skittles, but it would be hella sloooowwww.

I'd run 2 thoughtseize and 2 inquisition MB, with more in the side. Dismember MB, with the rest of the playset in the side, probably. That's about it, I think. It will let me be more light with my counters, and also is more proactive than them. 2-4 overgrown tombs and eight Gx fetches. Maybe an urborg. No basic islands or swamps though; just forests. 4 of each hierarch, elf, agent, and stinger. Skites in the SB. Four nexii. Maybe drop the mutas. Go with 4 vines, swell, and prob 3 krosa. 2 immense and 3-4 probes. Prob some visions. This is all off the top of my head; I'll eventually sit down and make a list haha.

Yah haha! If you think people hate infect now, just wait until you pluck their Deflecting Palm or Pyroclasm out of their hands haha

ive always thought it would be interesting to take my bogles deck and side 4 tainted strike, 4 phyresis and some g/b w/b lands to really slap an opponent in the face game two.

+1 because Wu-Tang is for the children.

mtgThaen says... #19

I would say definitely run 4 Gitaxian Probes, possibly dropping a Serum Visions and an Apostle's Blessing. But cutting a blessing is a meta call.

r_type_one says... #20

Yeah I was thinking about dropping visions altogether, bumping gprobes to 4, dumping wild def back in the side. And bringing become immense back in the main.

wu tang is def for the children.

Defiance is a two of main board in simic. It's so good! With the amount of burn going on now, it makes it even better. Visions are nice, but three is high. And four probes is a must.

January 11, 2016 2:33 p.m.

r_type_one says... #22

Burn isn't to bad in my meta. It's really more paths and c flares. regardless, the extra pump from defiance is gross. I'll keep it main.

January 11, 2016 2:57 p.m.

mtgThaen says... #23

Also, if they path, and you bless, that's +6/+6 right there. Also, no countermagic?

January 11, 2016 4:58 p.m.

r_type_one says... #24

True. Need to get some spell pierces.

January 11, 2016 10:52 p.m.

mtgThaen says... #25

Spell Pierces are good; I run two main board, with two Dispels in the side. Again, it's meta dependent, but I find that having access to four counterspells make the burn, mirror, twin, control, and elf matchups better. Heck, pretty much any matchup.
