I hadn't realized that the Sanguine Bond interaction was possible in standard.

perhaps include a Vault of the Archangel to help punch through some life gain?

I would say yes, but usually I'll only be attacking with one creature anyways, so giving them all deathtouch and lifelink seems kinda pointless when I can have a 6/7 vampire nighthawk attack alone xD. Also, I didn't even know Sanguine Bond existed! That's neat :)

Personally, I like the idea of infinite combos in standard.

For Searching, 4x Increasing Ambition

Since you are considering going R/W/B, consider this combo:4x Boros Reckoner 4x Boros Charm 4x Nearheath Pilgrim All of which can function alone, but with the help of luck and increasing ambition, the three cards can go infinite for health if you have the Reckoner take 1 damage.( And infinite for damage with the guildmage)

you need some creature control/removal. you may have a game plan, but so does the other player, and a foe's enchantment, artifact, or creature can be crippling at times. perhaps Murder , Tragic Slip , or Oblivion Ring . something along that line.

@rubot22 that's a really creative combo! I like it. Honestly I would've never thought to keep dealing damage back to Boros..I kinda dismissed making this a three color deck simply because of the costs involved, but eventually I might get there. And I will consider the Increasing Ambition , it may not be necessary in this deck but it would most certainly be helpful (just worrried about the mana cost)

@blueeyzcal I've found that Fiend Hunter has really been all I need.. but now that you mention it, maybe I'll swap him out for Oblivion Ring , seeing that I can exile artifacts and enchantments and don't have to worry about my Fiend Hunter getting killed. Thanks for the suggestions!

you may want to at least sideboard Tragic Slip , works great against indestructible creatures. plus, being able to take out a large creature at instant speed for one swamp is pretty great.

you might be able to exploit the exalted with a Disciple of Bolas

after you swing, play him and sack the creature you swung with to get a new hand (and probably more combo pieces). This also works nicely with the Tragic Slip mentioned above.

The Vampire Bank is my R/W/B deck that exploited the infinite life loop, I added the red to get Searing Spear and Dreadbore to clear immediate threats, but all you need is a cheap spell (Sign in Blood , Thrull Parasite , etc.) and Vizkopa Guildmage s second ability with Exquisite Blood and that's game. I always liked using extort over combat damage since it's usually more reliable to go through.

@Morokai & blueeyzcal I think I'm gonna put in a few Disciple of Bolas and put Tragic Slip in the sideboard. I agree that it works great with the exalted theme. Also, what do you guys think about Essence Harvest ?And what do you suggest to take out? I'm thinking of throwing in Sign in Blood too.

Thanks for the +1, rubot22!!

I would probably take out the Cathedral Sanctifier , he is a bit of a dead draw later in the game and the disciple also gains you life when he enters. I would also consider the Guardians of Akrasa for removal since they are a 0/4 that can't attack for three, even though it does give some exalted.

@Morokai Thanks for the help. Could you look through my maybeboard and tell me what you think about some of the cards? Specifically Aven Squire , Blood Reckoning , Essence Harvest , Rhox Faithmender , and Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis ?

+1 from me, I'm new to Magic and have put together an exalted deck, bcoz I like the mechanic and it's fun to play.

I'm not sure I can make any suggestions which would help, but I have got Vault of the Archangel yes it's not great when attacking with one creature, but available mana to give all creatures death touch for blocking I've found to be quite a nice threat sitting on the board.

I really like the life combo, I went down the route of Essence Harvest and some more removal.

I'd be grateful if you can take a look at my deck, and help me out.Exaltations

to be honest, I don't think that the Faithmender or Blood Reckoning are necessary. Faithmender doubles your lifegain, but that is pretty much all that he does. Blood reckoning just doesn't have that much of an impact when you aren't forcing your opponent to attack (jund turbofog with goblin diplomats could make it much more useful for example). you will only be swinging with one dude, so you will have a few blockers available to you. Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis can be fun, but I would reccomend running just one or two of him if you do, since you don't have much in the way of ramp. Essence Harvest can be nice, but make sure that you have room to put it in if you decide to use it, as well as a good reason.

Your deck looks fine as it is for the most part to me, I would try doing a lot of playtests with what you want to remove. The main thing to focus on is looking for stuff that you just don't like having in your hand, or that don't do anything for you at all later in he game. When you get this feeling, it is usually a good indicator that that card can be replaced.

TBH, I haven't actually attended a standard FNM (I only do drafts and sealed). I don't know what decks you can expect to have issues with, so I don't feel comfortable with telling you every card you should or shouldn't remove.

@Wainwright Thanks!! I love the mechanic as well, it's just really fun to use.

You've got a good point about Vault of the Archangel , I've noticed that my Vampire Nighthawk s have been crucial because of their deathtouch threat they give.

And I'd love to take a look!

@Morokai Alright thanks, I think I'll sideboard Blood Reckoning as it deters token decks wonderfully from my experiences. I agree with you about just about everything else too, Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis has been rather difficult to get down and Faithmender just seems kinda unnecessary..

And no problem, I understand. Thanks for all the help!
