Alot of Changes has been made to this deck since I first made it but as it stands it works like this:
Sage of Hours say no to your opponents, stopping them completely in their tracks in a manner that can come as a surprise to both you and your opponent.
The main giver in this deck is Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, can't live without him here. He cycles through the deck in search of the perfect answer to what your opponent is throwing at you, or pumping your creatures, making them very fierce.
the second "monster" of this deck is Hardened Scales. This IS a counter deck, so this little bugger squeezes the living hell out of every counter giver in the deck, making Ajani up to 5 times as dangerous as before!
Bow of Nylea Can also be abused with Hardened Scales, and even more so with one or two Kiora's Follower by its side.
Here's somwthing crazy; Throw a Feat of Resistance on Sage of Hours when you have a Hardened Scales out and the sage will get 4 counters! triggering once on the spell and once on the heroic. 2 Scales = 6 counters and the possibility of an extra turn!
In the deep shit? Fear not!
Sandsteppe Mastodon
is on his way to screw your opponent over. maybe you get 2 really big, dangerous creatures in play. Maybe you get an instant extra turn by bolstering 5 on Sage of Hours
A vast selection of mana ramp makes
Sandsteppe Mastodon
a really nice target late game with Chord of Calling. Saved many games for me, I can assure you.
That's it for now! We'll se how it evolves when Dragons of Tarkir comes ;)
All possible combinations of unlimited turns (I think), excluding Sage of Hours in the listings;
1 Bow of Nylea, 2(1) Hardened Scales, 1(2) Kiora's Follower
1 Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, 1(2) Hardened Scales (one's enough if you have 2 Sage of Hours in play, every turn putting 2 counters on one and 1 on the other)
1 Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, 1 Kiora's Follower, 1 Bow of Nylea
1 Bow of Nylea, 4 Kiora's Follower
1 Ajani, Mentor of Heroes, 1 Bow of Nylea, 1 Hardened Scales
