This deck is for a new format called "TRIBAL DUELS", which I invented and it is casual. The blocks are INNISTRAD and SHADOWS OVER INNISTRAD.

This is a 100 cards deck from "Innistrad and Shadows Over Innistrad" blocks only, with 15 cards for sideboard.

Similar to the Commander (EDH) format, in this format you use a General for your deck, BUT you start with 100 life instead of 40. The rules for your general are similar to the ones from Commander format and it is not multiplayer.

This deck is set up to battle Hordes of Zombies. So far, it contains cards from Innistrad and Shadow Over Innistrad blocks only, with the exception of cards from other sets that are related to the "World of Innistrad" or they are are from Innistrad.

The General on this Duel Deck is Avacyn, Guardian Angel and her army are White Humans.

Humans and Angels found themselves in a battle to survive the hordes of zombies summoned by a mysterious enemy: Ghoulcaller Gisa. Humans will use Equipment and some Enchantments to defeat the zombies. Avacyn, Guardian Angel will protect as many as she can while the Humans will multiply as fast as they can to overcome the evil enemy.

HOW TO PLAY THE DECK: Show

The strategy is simple. The deck has tons of 1' and 2' drops that will make it easy for a very fast start. The deck focus on token creation (either created by spells or creatures) but is not the main strategy in it. The focus lies on getting as many Human creatures on the battlefield as possible, and using the group's force and a few equipments to increase their power.

KEY CARDS: Show

Champion of the Parish: key card for the deck as all Humans will feed this guys. The deck is built to work around this card.

Mikaeus, the Lunarch: Probably a replacement General if wanted. Carefully played will make your Humans bigger and bigger.

Hanweir Militia Captain: It should not be hard to make this lady transform and start making white Human 1/1's. She can become a powerhouse or make herself weak if you don't set your board with tons of creatures but tested, will make your win a sure thing.

Thalia, Guardian of Thraben: Another known card that will add some control to your battlefield. Will create some problems to your opponent when casting their noncreature spells.

Thalia's Lieutenant: the upgraded version of the Champion of the Parish, it will be good at begging states or mid states of the game. Love that card.

Thraben Doomsayer: Probably underrated card, but it will create, correctly played, Human tokens on each turn. It will provide more and more Human creatures as the game progress.

Riders of Gavony is one of my favorite cards as it will grand the protection to ALL human creatures you control. It can become very complicated for your opponent if they don't have the answer.

THE CARDS: Show

Thraben Heretic, Holy Justiciar (we will talk about that in the Sideboard section) along with Slayer of the Wicked are immediate removal for Zombies or graveyard reanimation. Thraben Heretic is there because of her ability to null graveyard interactions if your opponent is creating you troubles. Fiend Hunter removes ANY creature when it hits the battlefield, one of the best removal creatures.

Restoration Angel, Cloudshift and Eerie Interlude will flicker most of your creatures and this will be a) protection for some or b) strenght for others, such as Champion of the Parish or Thalia's Lieutenant.

Elite Inquisitor and Riders of Gavony are one of your main tread, as their "protection" ability and vigilance are relevant on this Duel Deck.

Angelic Overseer is a finisher as well as Silverblade Paladin, which this last one will make any creature a finisher.

Mentor of the Meek will provide you with a constant flow of cards, as 85% of the cards are 2/2.

Doomed Traveler is a very good 1' drop as it will replaces itself with a flying token. Gather the Townsfolk and Increasing Devotion are other good token generation spells, as well as the already mentioned Thraben Doomsayer.

Abbey Griffin is there because of his flavor text from Mikaeus and a flyer will help the deck. Inspiring Captain is there because I love the art, and is a Human and has a nice ability that you can flicker.

Terminus and Angel of Glory's Rise are board sweepers, especially the Angel against Zombies.

Faith's Shield is a nice protection spells, but is there because of the Champion of the Parish's moment in the story line. Break of Day is a good combat trick and related to Zombies in the art!

ARTIFACTS & ENCHANTMENTS Show

All artifact and equipment are relevant to Humans. Grafdigger's Cage is your best control trick against zombies. Cathars' Crusade will make your little guys into powerful forces as soon as they hit the ground. And Blazing Torch is there because of the "can't be block by zombies".

Lastly, Always Watching will make stronger your non-token creatures and will give them vigilance (NICE!!)

SIDEBOARD Show

On the creature's side: Devout Chaplain is there because of her ability to remove Enchantments or artifacts.

Farbog Explorer has Swampwalk ability and, depending on the situation, can be useful.

Stony Silence will neutralize not just the equipment artifacts but the Grimoire of the Dead which can be a big problem if not dealt with.

Nevermore will get you rid of that undesired card.

Rebuke and Smite the Monstrous are there to deal with treads, especially against Diregraf Colossus or Geralf's Messenger as they tend to get bigger.
