Hi and thanks for commenting Xenkay!
Champion of the Parish is certainly an option that can be included. The first build I had of this deck run him as an four-of. He felt immensly good to play as a turn one drop, but the later the game went, the worse he felt. He is a miserable mid and late game top deck. We kinda do not have enough humans at 18-20 to trigger him succesfully repeatedly.
I think I will add him to the list of alternative cards, so that other people notice him and could include him in a potential more human heavier version.

Great Deck and great description! Will probably build this for some casual hijinks with friends. +1!

Very nice and flavorful! I really love the theme you're going with here, you're right, your idea is similar to my The Good Church.
The CMC is a bit too high and there are a few other problems, but I feel that this is mainly a casual deck and meant more for flavor than for competitiveness.
+1!

Thanks for commenting Memnoch and PierreThePlaneswalker! :)
@Memnoch I am happy to hear that you like it that much that you want to build it for ourself! If you have any questions, I will be happy to provide any help I can.
@PierreThePlaneswalker You are right. Should this deck ever want to be competitive, it had to lower its CMC first. But this deck is all about the feels-train! It just feels so right to play it. But it all stands and falls with reaching the three mana-mark.

Oh I'm sure! I really, really love playing around with Angels, they may be my favorite creature type in the game!

Hahaha! Thanks! :D
Have a favorite Angel? I'm in love with Avacyn, Angel of Hope but the art on Angel of Jubilation is stunning. In the end my favorite is probably Archangel of Thune.

True, Avacyn, Angel of Hope is downright awesome. The art in my opinion even moreso than the effect. The same is true with Angel of Jubilation.
But my three favourites are the Angelic Overseer, Iona, Shield of Emeria and the Resolute Archangel from the recent M15!

@LordDerrien Thanks! I really like the White Control Flavor you were going for. It could use some 1 drops to speed up the curve, but as a casual deck it's seems like it would be fun to play with friends.

Iona, Shield of Emeria is a fantastic Angel, she's pretty awesome but that Mana cost is obscene. You need a lot of ramp :D
I also love Angelic Overseer I ran them in The Good Church for a very, very long time.

@Memnoch That is true. A few one-drops would be really good. It is just that the do not have a big enough impact in my opinion. (See Champion of the Parish) And if we would add things for more one drops, it would drift really fast into the direction of a white weenie build. Well even moreso than it already is... .

@LordDerrien I actually think that Champion of the Parish is a tad too slow in Human builds that aren't weenie or don't rely on Tokens.

@PierreThePlaneswalker Speak about the awesome angels is like always speaking about obscene mana costs! :D
I always thought about buiding an Bant angel deck with Empyrial Angel, Stoic Angel and Jenara, Asura of War with a bit of ramp and a way of exploting the Empyrial Angel, this could be really powerful. But again, very casual!
Edit: I agree with your assesment of Champion of the Parish.

That Bant Angel deck could possible be competitive, you'd just have to build it right.
I do love some of those Bant Angels simply because they're SO cheap on CMC for Angels. Throw some Serra Avengers in there too!

True, there CMC is just lovely. The only thing one should recognize is, that the Stoic Angel could harm onself, if you do not have an Vigilance of Exalted subtheme going on.
In this regard seems Serra Avenger really good. I kinda dislike her because of her turn requierment that makes her a technical turn four drop :S
Wouldn't it be funny, if we both try building a Bant Angel deck and than look at the other ones for improvements? :D
June 19, 2015 12:37 p.m.
PierreThePlaneswalker says... #17
That's Serra Avenger's big flaw, but it's still a worthwhile CMC to Power ratio.
If we're going to start talking about an Exalted subtheme then you'd need to include Sublime Archangel SOMEHOW.
Hey, I'm open to cooperative deck building! That sounds fun :D

PierreThePlaneswalker says... #18
Also for ramp the best would be Noble Hierarch... but it's price tag is beyond stupid.
June 19, 2015 12:40 p.m.
LordDerrien says... #19
LoL, love it how the Sublime Archangel has the sub-theme already included in her name! xD
Well I would build the Bant Angel deck and put it online when I am finished!
By the way, I am living in Germany. For matters concerning the time were writting to cooperate for building the deck.
Edit: Yep Noble Hierarch would be a no brainer, but it would also be a burnout for my wallet! .

Oh yeah, I really love Sublime Archangel, I've wanted to include her in a deck for a while!
Okay awesome! I'll throw my deck together later today. It'll just be a rough draft.
I don't really plan on building it so I'm going to go all out! Playset of Noble Hierarchs xD
June 19, 2015 12:51 p.m.
LordDerrien says... #21
So will I do myself. Even when just looking at Noble Hierarch hurts my feelings... xD
June 19, 2015 12:55 p.m.
PierreThePlaneswalker says... #22
I know!
Noble Hierarch is a great card and all but it's massively overpriced.
Same thing with Tarmogoyf, I really don't think cards should be over $20... but oh well.
June 19, 2015 12:59 p.m. Edited.
LordDerrien says... #23
I do not consider Tarmogoyf as a card or as a consideration for anything. It is sad, but things like him are just money to me. I would not buy him and if I somehow got my hands on a single of him, he would be sold the moment that miracoulus event happend...

I'm right there with you. I could build a deck out of the profits from him.

True, just in every meaningful way. But let us continue this discussion through PM's please. It is kinda cluttering the comment section. :)

Would Champion of the Parish be an option? But nice deck mate. I like the theme, the chosen cards and the beloved story/introducion.+1 ;)
