Better than Gods Willing I mean, Brave the Elements is strictly better in this case

Realized I never left a comment, how rude of me. I love this deck LordD, and used some of it as a basis of comparison for my mono-white deck. +1 for another MW player.

I like the deck and the detailed description. Would it not be better to have 4 Honor of the Pure instead of 2 and 2 Angel of Jubilation?

Also, could you condense the description into two panels? It is difficult to scroll up and down...

August 4, 2015 6:04 p.m.

LordDerrien says... #14

@miracleHatFour Honor of the Pure would not be wrong, but on the other side Angel of Jubilation offers some fetchland and sacrifice hate. One does not think it, but for some decks she is not only a flying 3/3 anthem but also a minor to major hindrance. I am also a bit nostalgic about her, art and the way she plays .

You mean like hide the whole description in one giant spoiler?

miracleHat says... #15

Yeah. My page scrolling is really slow and reverting down from the deck to this comment feels sluggish.

I really like this deck and the time you put into your explanation so I will be giving a +1. I would like to try out this build at an fnm but I have a question on how you would go about dealing with a certain threat in the are I play in. Since Iona, Shield of Emeria has been reprinted in modern masters, she has been used a ton in decks using the urza lands, emrakuls and all the other nasties. How would you defend against Iona using a only a single color? Iona comes out as fast as turn four usually and instantly shuts it down. I can see how the indestructable angel could take on emrakul but you would still need to sacrifice permanents. Any suggestions on how to deal with those if I was to put this deck together?

LordDerrien says... #18

@ArabsCamel First and foremost, this is not really build for competitive, but can do well against some decks. If Emrakul is a problem in your meta, you can use the card Prison Term. I comes earlier into play than Emrakul even if you have to enchant your own creature. Than when Emrakul, the Aeons Torn enters the battlefield, you just attach the aura and voila a trapped Emrakul.

If you are worried about Tron, you should maybe play a few copies of Ghost Quarter instead of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx.

Avacyn might also not make the cut because she is really expensive mana wise.

This might also be an consideration Nevinyrral's Disk.

Love the flavor, my very first deck was/is a Bruna human/angel theme EDH deck. You could see it on my wall if you are curious.

In Modern now I'm running Demons though. +1 for flavor

Absolutely love this! Instant +1!

Suggestions that come to my mind are Linvala, Keeper of Silence ("that's a nice Twin combo you have there", and other stuff), and Windbrisk Heights and Flagstones of Trokair for the manabase.

BoCaliv says... #21

You've really kicked this deck up a notch man. Before banishing was just part of the flavor, but now it's just all hate. Not even free mana from Path to Exile haha. Truely not something I want to come up against...even with my own hate deck.

+next level

@deaddrift Thank you very much for commenting and +1. While Commander isn't really my thing, iw ill try to find a moment and look at your deck!

@TheLivingCME Thank you! It makes me very happy to see people liking this deck that much. Your suggestions all look to be a thing to think about. Most of all the Windbrisk Heights (for Iona, Shield of Emeria and Avacyn, Angel of Hope) looks very promising. I would also like to add the Linvala, Keeper of Silence, but she is so goddamn expensive. I am ok with single 20 Euro cards like Avacyn, Angel of Hope, but 40 Euro + kinda breaks it for me...

@BoCaliv Yeah, what is everyone thinking with giving free lands away by using Path to Exile?! xDThank you for coming again and taking a second look, that makes me very happy! I will try and sneak a look at your Sunbears, too! ;)
>P.S.: Well, hate is hate - everyone just really hate it... ;P

I haven't really changed much in my deck. Now that it's finished I'm just pimping out the core of it with foils.

Been working on another Modern deck to play as an alternative to Mono-White. Can check that out :)

Windbrisk Heights is great, put it in your deck if you can afford the "battalion clause" early!

Yeah, Linvala is very expensive ... Save it for when you win that expensive tournament. :P
