What I love most about this deck? Remove the dual lands, and replace them with guildgates, BOOM, badass pauper deck. Commons ftw.

Yeah After I'd been running this deck for a while, I realized that it's almost an exact copy of a tier 1.5 pauper deck. The sideboard has uncommons and a rare or two, but those particular ones aren't that relevant in pauper. I may just strup down this deck to the pauper format and for modern start running Storm, U/R delver or some other budget modern deck.

Well.... What if you play against some removal? T2 Kiln Fiend . BOOM! Doom Blade .... What would you then do?

Hate to say it, but this deck would need a lot of improvement to stay competitive in modern. I could give you a few suggestions, but i would suggest making it Pauper (this would ruin people in Pauper) like RobotsAndPuppets noted.
If you are intent on keeping it modern, you are almost there, but i would suggest running a few cantrips and maybe using another win-con such as Guttersnipe . maybe Blistercoil Weird would interest you. i like the concept, but a bit too inconsistent. i think the only thing this really needs is more win/cons. still pretty good and ridiculously fun when you kill your opponent with commons (maybe except for dual-lands) when they are running probably a $1,000+ deck. Nice work +1
@ApocryphalSaint Anger of the Gods or Wrath of God and about 20 other things and Jund is nothing. every deck has its weaknesses.

Mizzium Skin , Mana Leak , Dispel , Izzet Charm , or even Vapor Snag it back to my hand. The idea is to kill them before they get anything set up, or while they are setting up. In that respect I actually consider Nivix Cyclops to be better than Kiln Fiend . I've thought about working in 2x Wee Dragonauts to give me another combo creature though.

There is just so much disrupting in Modern. I mean... Thoughtseize , Abrupt Decay , Lightning Bolt , Path to Exile etc... I know that you have some protection spells. But you don't have access to them at the turn you play your creatures. I don't really have any suggestion. I just don't think, that the deck will work in Modern.
As the other ones have said. It's a really OP pauper deck :D

Monastery Swiftspear is a thing now. I might just bring this deck back from the dead to play it. I've also aquired a playset of Shivan Reef , City of Brass , Manamorphose , Serum Visions , and a few other goodies since the last time i busted out this deck. Stay tuned.

Mutagenic Growth is a free +5/+5 on kiln fiend... just sayin...

This convinces me to put Delver of Secrets Flip into my deck. I feel like you definitely need more burn and less control. Mana Leak and Mizzium Skin are too defensive for my taste. +1

for draws you might want to consider Tormenting Voice

Tormenting Voice is basically a worse Faithless Looting , which was already cut.
As to earlier comments, I agree that, with the new deck shift, and the addition of Monastery Swiftspear , this deck isn't as afraid of removal as it used to be. Instead, I need to power ahead as fast as i can, before they can do anything. With that in mind, I'm going to be cutting Mana Leak . Mizzium Skin might be a cut candidate also. I might not though, because Path to Exile is a thing.
So far leaders for what to add to the open 8 slots: Mutagenic Growth , Apostle's Blessing , Gitaxian Probe , Faithless Looting , Serum Visions (i already have a playset) and Distortion Strike

Can you plz give me your opinion on Manamorphose ? It seems like it could have massive potential but at the same time be a dead card. Not sure what to think

I've been consistently pleased with it. unlike Gitaxian Probe , it is an instant, so it can be cast during the combat step. You have to be a little choosy with what mana to produce from it (i usually say U/R or RR), but i've never had it be a "dead draw". It does what it's supposed to: fix mana and cantrip for "free". It's also nice to filter through the deck with it, even better when you daw Lightning Bolt or another cheap instant.
October 15, 2014 5:11 p.m.
I use Hidden Strings for a couple reasons: (1) At worst, you can untap the mana used to cast it, so it acts like a free buff, then you can cast more; (2) you tap defenders then swing in, and untap your dude when it hits the player.
I also find Distortion Strike to be amazing because of its free recursion (Rebound), which typically leads to 8 unblockable damage (minimum) over two turns, assuming no Assault Strobe with it. To me, DS > Artful Dodge because it's only 1 mana (you don't have to pay for the recursion), AND you get the extra +1/+0.
One thing I'm considering, based on how I play aggressively, I'm thinking of throwing in a couple Molten Birth to give myself a couple defenders while I swing in pumped up.
You'll definitely wanna keep Mizzium Skin in the main because removal will cripple everything you're trying to do, and at worst you'll get an extra toughness for the turn too.
Check out my version, playtest if you like, and feel free to share your thoughts here or there on what you like / don't like.

As for draw power, I think what you've got with Manamorphose is probably one of the better options, outside of Gitaxian Probe which lets you Peek on T1 and plan accordingly.
Other options are Balduvian Rage in combat; Cerulean Wisps lets you untap or Crimson Wisps let you Haste a dude; or Quicken if you wind up using lots of sorceries.
Serum Visions gives you the most topdeck info for the 1 mana (though it would be better/OP if it was scry 2 then draw).
Twisted Image is a nifty little combat instant that can catch opponents by surprise.
But I still kinda like Faithless Looting if you have them ready to go since it's a hand filter with recursion.

Inaction Injunction is something i use for draw power. Here is my deck as well, we can all learn from each other :)

I fit in Mizzium Skin and Manamorphose , now i just have to go buy them and play test them. Any more comments are welcome, the last were extremely helpful.

I see lots of cards that buff your creatures but I don't see any protection for them. The deck doesn't care about tempo when it has straight-out OTK's. I think fewer creatures and more instants/sorceries would greatly benefit the deck and boost its 20+ damage attack potential.
I think Delver isn't that snug of a fit here because the damage it may potentially do is overkill when it comes to your big stanky combo. Embrace the combo: just run more cheap cantrip stuff that helps set the combo off instead of the Delvers. Like Pyretic Rituals, and that one red cantrip that gives a creature haste. Mmmm.

I didn't mean to say "not enough protection". Clearly there's enough protection haha. I meant to say "not enough stuff that helps the combo". I meant to change that I posted the comment but now that I posted it seems like there's no way to edit my comment.
My bad haha.

I meant to change that before**** I posted the comment.
I hope I don't get banned for triple-posting hahaha.
Also you could make some room for the two cards I suggested by omitting a few lands as well as the Delvers, and you could make your mana base more consistent with the new UR land from Aether Revolt. Best o' luck with the deck! I might try it out myself.

kind of surprised no one has mentioned Simian Spirit Guide. Can potentially speed up the clock by a turn, and if nothing else can help protect your Kiln Fiend on turn two by allowing you to have an open mana for a Dispel, Mizzium Skin, or Apostle's Blessing, should you ever choose to run it.

then Jund rolled in and destroyed your deck by turn 2 with Surgical Extraction
